Still don't get how Asceticiser and Compulsive Hider complement each other.

It's about interesting and often complex role interactions, a staple of Pie's games. The Asceticizer could end up stopping the Hider from actually being able to hide.

Though, come to think of it, I suppose one could also be considered a pseudo-CC of the other... Will have to think about Mikal's claim a little more

since those last posts I’ve been busy, but yes, literally just fishing for whatever reactions I can read.

The idea was that people would theorize what my idea was here and I’d read off that. If anyone had a speculation as to my role, I would then try to analyze if their number selection lined up with town or scum incentives, with consideration to their specific speculation.

I think maybe Mharm. His townplay and scum play are hard to really peg sometimes for me but largely seems to be talking to himself and trying way to hard

Character & role make sense and if it's a fake claim it's a bold one with a major character like that.

Why hard claim early instead of trying to bait an NK?

Alright, so it does seem like Magic was just trying to examine reactions, which is fine. Good to try any tactic we've got and there's not a lot going on, so it was a decent way to increase discussion.

I can't speak much to the character claims so far. The Hider role does seem pretty well justified for Evanlyn. The Asceticiser justification seems looser for Tug, though I can kind of see where it's coming from. I know a couple of people (at least Casey from what I've seen) have mentioned the odd interaction between their two roles. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some odd role interactions in play, but I'm unclear on how this would even work. Assuming that they're both real and Mikal visits the Asceticised player, does his Hider just cease to function and as a result and he just visits the target? Does the visit fail? I read over the Ascetic role again to see if there were any hints and it may just function as normal. The Ascetic player stops roles from affecting them. A Hider doesn't affect their target per se, and as far as I know, Ascetic players do not prevent visits, just the effects of roles used on them. It's worth asking about and I'd definitely want both Mikal and RT to put that question to Pie. I'll try to get an answer as well.

That doesn't really answer the question, though. Are they "immune" to visits, i.e. would the visit fail? Would the visit be successful and he just wouldn't Hide behind you? I understand if you may not be able to get the answer to that question since you're asking about a hypothetical role aside from your own (Pie just told me he can't answer any questions about hypothetical roles that aren't mine), so it might just have to be a question that Mikal asks.

There isn't a real synergy between Hider and Aesceticizer. One protects from all actions at the cost of a potential two NKs, the other just stops non-lethal actions; in a town context, it's useful for preventing investigators from being roleblocked or redirected.
