A quick, easy, simple nightless Mafia game

Town -

1 Lazy Sheriff

3 Lazy Citizen

Mafia -

1 Lazy Mafioso

1 Lazy Godfather

No roles have night abilities or abilities of any kind.

Mafia has a private daychat.

On D1, due to a lazy bureaucracy, only 3 votes are required for a majority.

Lynch is mandatory every single day.

Days last 48 hours or until a lynch is achieved.

Win condition: Town must lynch the Mafia, Mafia has to achieve vote parity.

What is the difference between Lazy Mafioso and Lazy Godfather?

Edit post

Forum signatures are bullshit. Nobody wants to waste their time and bandwidth reading something they have read 29,998,559,671,349 times before.

Sounds like low-effort game design if you ask me

I think the lazy sheriff breaks the game balance in favor of town. Forces the game state into a 5p 2/3 PoE as game starts having town shoot into a pool of 40% RNG success starting at D1 or scum doing a CC and taking a 50/50 for worse odds. The added factor of having a semi-confirmed town though is a big thing though. Simple follow the sheriff strategy really shifts the game into the sheriff picking exactly 1 player they think is town and running through everyone else saving that 1 person for a 60% RNG chance of town winning before the game even starts or a word is said.

Just a thought.

Intentionally not saying this in the sign up thread but really optimal play breaks down in towns favor in every way.

Lazy Sheriff reveals. Scum CC's or does not

If they CC they go 1v1 50% RNG followed by loosing a player the next night (if they win.) Bad gamble to take. Everything goes right they enter a 3v1 D3. If its wrong its a 4v1 D2

If they do not CC town plays follow the sheriff. He picks 1 townie to keep alive and they eliminate in order of scummy with a 60% RNG chance and days of information to conclude who the finalist will be.

I do not think scum has a chance in this one tbh.

Maybe scum should win a 2v1?

Purely probabilistically, ignoring information, assuming a random Lynch every day, assuming there’s no CC:

Scenario 1:

60% chance of lynching town D1 -> 50% chance of lynching town d2 -> 30% chance scum wins by D2

Scenario 2a/b

4 v 2 -> 3 v 1 -> 2 v1 ->

60% chance of lynching town D1 -> 50% chance of lynching scum d2 -> 66% chance of lynching Town D3 (2v1) -> 10% chance scum wins D4, 10% chance Town wins D4

Scenario 3:

60% chance of lynching Town D1 -> 50% chance of lynching scum d2 -> 33% chance of lynching Scum 3 -> 10% chance

Scenario 4:

4v1 -> 4v0

40% chance of lynching Scum D1 -> 25% chance of lynching scum D2 -> 10% Town

Scenario 5:

4v1 -> 3v1 -> 2v1 -> 1v1

40% -> 75% -> 66% -> 50% = 4/10 * 3/4 * 2/3 * 1/2 = 10% Scum

Scenario 6:

4 v 1 -> 3v1 -> 3v0

...

Too many to list. I don’t think there are that many but I don’t wanna continue. From a purely random Lynch perspective (which doesn’t exist), I think the setup is balanced. I’ll think about this tomorrow.
