Welcome to kohai's uPick! I have created a few setups that I think would be fun and enjoyable. I will give a brief description of each setup and will allow everyone to take their pick.
Game Information
- The ideal start date will be 25/09, the day after Rosh Hashanah. I am starting signups early so we can have time to finish the ongoing game (please do not discuss the ongoing game in this thread), recruit new players, and give everyone a tiny bit of a mafia break before the next game starts.
- The day phase will last for 72 hours and the night phase will last for 48 hours.
- There are no alignment changing roles in any of these setups; however please note that there are some extremely nasty anti-claim mechanics! Please claim at your own risk!
- Mod note: Originally I stated I would use "eliminate" over "lynch." However this got too much push back so I will go with lynch.
Game Mechanics
- Use VTL (Playername) or Vote: (Playername) to eliminate a player.
- Unovting is appreciated but is not required.
- Eliminations and factional kills are mandatory. If there is a tie for eliminations this will be resolved through randomization.
- All factions have day chat.
- Twilight begins when a majority is reached. It lasts until the thread is locked. Until this point, players may freely post in this game thread until I arrive to flip them. Votes and unvotes in this phase do not count.
Rules:
- Follow all site-rules and use common sense.
- I will not tolerate toxicity. I expect all players to treat each other with respect. If I feel a discussion is getting too heated I will intervene and possibly lock the thread for there to be a cool down period. If the discussion gets too toxic even after a cool down period then I reserve the right to mod kill you without compensation to your team.
- I will expect a minimum of 5 game-advancing posts per day.
- Do not quote your PM in full.
- Do not edit or delete your posts.
- Cryptography and bread crumbing are allowed; however do so at your own risk as there are very nasty anti-claim mechanics. I cannot stress this enough. You are free to claim, but it may be extremely detrimental.
Option 1: 90s/Early 2000 Nostalgia
The flavor is based on movie, video game, and TV characters from the 90's to early 2000s. This is a closed setup. This game will not be multiball and there will be no alignment changing roles.
Option 2: Medical Mayhem
This is an open setup with some fun bastard mechanics. Ideally we will have 13 players, 11 town and 2 scum. Everyone is a doctor; however, there's a catch: Every night it will be randomized what type of doctor you are. The type of doctors:
- Sane doctor - A sane doctor protects their patient from all night kills. This is guaranteed to be successful.
- Inverse doctor - An inverse doctor kills their patients instead of healing them, essentially this is a vigilante.
- A quack - Their action does nothing
- Cynical - Protects their patient, but also roleblocks them
- CPR - A CPR doctor will protect their patient; however, they will kill their patient if protection is not needed (i.e. from scum or from another doctor).
It is guaranteed that there will be at least two sane doctors at all times. Mafia can target each other; however they should do this with extreme caution as it could end up killing their partner.
Flavor will be based on real doctors and medical history. If this gets enough interest and we get enough players I may add a third party to the game (however, I will inform the players before hand).
Option 3: The Donner Party
This is a really fun setup that I have done before. The flavor will be based on the old west pioneers. The setup is open and has a few fun mechanics:
- 2 Cannibal Mafia Goons
- 1 Cannibal Serial Killer
- 1 Cannibal Vigilante
- 1 Gunsmith (Dietician)
- 1 Roleblocker
- 6 Vanilla Townies
