Democrats may have inadvertently handed Republicans an argument they [the Democrats] hardly needed at this juncture in their evolution. Democrats have owned the "murder by gun" argument as a justification since raising their 2A ban effort since almost forever, politically and socially. Now, mostly due to DSA inclusion in the D- bigtent, the Dems have painted themselves into a border crisis corner. It's a boogeyman issue, but by media standards, murder-by-illegal-immigrant is becoming that boogeyman in the closet, and the door is bulging outward. That door is not made of rubber.

Should be in the random thoughts thread.

Illegals committing murder is a current event. Tell you what. You put your posts where you want, and I'm doing the same. It is an "open" forum, yeah?

Americans committing murder is an ongoing event...And owned by all Americans.

And illegal is a concept relative to legal, relative to a raft of other concepts.

And for sure, you can air your thoughts wherever you choose to.

It was just that this particular dig at democrats seem somewhat more random than others.

Notwithstanding that randomness is a concept that I do not particularly agree with.

Maybe flippant would be a better word.

ICE committing murder is a current event too.

Why can't you just ignore murder-by-illegal-immigrants.

At the root, my post was satire, because a majority of Democrats seem convinced that banning guns will fix the problem of murder by gun, as if the gun itself fires the shot without the benefit of behavioral man using it. Thus, my argument is that by that thinking, we should also ban forks, knives, and spoons, because those are murder tools, as well. It is convenient to assume banning anything will prevent murder. After we have banned everything, Democrats will finally concede that bans didn't work. Some already think banning the behavior by banning man, himself, will do the job.

The indictment of murder, both 1 & 2, requires that part of the prosecution's case demonstrate the charge's necessity to demonstrate malice aforethought. At best, ICE is likely to be indicted for manslaughter, unless it can also be demonstrated that ICE fired in self-defense. A vehicle is, potentially, a weapon. I'm not saying that's always the case, so don't go there.

@fauxlaw

Well, if there were no guns there would be no gun murders.

But yes, we are talking the USA, where no guns has long since been a ridiculous expectation.

So my replies to such discussions also tend to be satire based...Because a proliferation in domestic weaponry will inevitably result in a proliferation in gun murders, so gun murders should be a reasonable social expectation.

Even so, is support for domestic weaponry directly comparable with party political support...I don't know, you tell me Faux.

I'm going to guess that the majority of registered gun owners are also politically interested enough to donate to their registered political party, so I suppose there is a correlation. However, I haven't a clue whether that affiliation is Demo or Repub by majority. Among my friends, there are both Ds and Rs, but more Rs own guns. I don't think my personal experience is indicative of the trend, but I'll admit I don't know. By the noise, it would seem more Ds favor the abolition of the 2A, but I do not then gravitate to say more Rs are gun fanatics. I favor keeping the 2A, but then, I don't own nor need a gun. In a forest at 7500 feet elevation, it's difficult to even see a neighbor's house, so I use distance rather than a gun for protection. I did not say I do not own weapons, just not a gun. Maybe it's a spoon.

Hmmmm, studies (such as analysis published in PNAS) indicate that undocumented immigrants are arrested and convicted for violent crimes, including homicide, at lower rates than native-born U.S. citizens.

@Debby

Yes.

Americans are more likely to be killed by fellow Americans, than by illegal immigrants.

Though according to those Red Injuns most Americans are illegal anyway.

American companies exploit immigrants by paying them low wages. The immigrants are too busy working to commit crimes.

Funny, then, that they went to so much trouble to try to catch up aligning themselves as "American" by making the 60s claim [yeah, they waited that long] to call themselvews "Native."

Debby,

That was was not Trump, as I've told you ad nauseam, that was the Trump Org CFO. Will you ever get your "facts" reight by personal research?

The fact is, Trump cannot be blamed for everything wrong with your life. Is there a mirror at home, or not? Would you like one for Chrhistmas?
