Getting to the moon, staying there and coming back again is not much easier now than it was previously. Getting to Mars and coming back again is nigh on impossible using current propulsion systems.

Yeah, a month or so ago, Elon was intent on going --or sending humans--- to Mars, then he shortly there after changed his mind and decided Lunar based station much likely to be feasible.

Only took him about 2 weeks to realize the Mars folly.
