Am I actually a sociopath?

So someone, but I won't say who, told me on discord that I am incapable of feeling guilt, shame and empathy, and thus told me that I am sociopath.

Well, for guilt, I knew. I am incapable of feeling any guilt. I don't know why. I just don't feel it. I never felt guilt in my whole life. I don't even know how that feels like, because my brain is programmed to assign blame to anything but me.

Now, shame, I can grant too. I don't think I feel much shame. Maybe I did as a kid, but now it's almost zero shame feeling. Literally no shame.

But empathy I can't really grant. Mainly because a lot of things I do are specifically for benefit of others. I don't drive a car for sole reason of not wanting to harm nature, and cars do harm nature. I also donate to charity, which has not much personal benefit to it. I also oppose or support a lot of things which are of no personal benefit to me to oppose or support, such as laws on corporal punishment, circumcision, pollution, speeding...ect.

So do I have empathy? I don't know. Maybe what I feel isn't empathy? But still, why does it cause me emotional pain if it's not empathy?

So I can grant that I can't feel guilt or shame, but I am pretty sure I am feeling empathy. Sometimes even too much empathy so I gotta drink and smoke to stop the feelings.

I also have a lot of empathy towards myself, a quality many people lack.

what you describe isn't empathy, it's an OCD fixation on a karma/dharma ethics type system. Empathy means to genuinely feel close to what you think others feel to connect with them.

Edit post

The US is a definitively secular nation, founded on complete separation of the State and religion. The Left Wing of US realise this but don't realise that pure freedom requires as low tax and free access to guns as possible. The Right Wing of US don't realise that secular pure freedom means the LGBTQ+ and abortion agendas both end up in line with US's liberty-first ethos.

It is left-wing to be pro-life. You are backing poor babies being born at the inconvenience of the already-born. Go figure.

Also sociopaths arent psychopaths. They can at times selectively empathise but it is typically shallow.

Based on how you cheer on as I suffer and have done so to many others, I reckon you are a sociopath.

You are a registered sex offender, admitted it even, don't grasp why it is wrong and argued multiple time that it is fine and children can consent.

So yeah, you are a sociopath.

No, I actually wish you finally got a job and girlfriend, and werent homeless.

None of that means having no empathy. In fact, saying that children can consent is logically more considerate position regarding child's wants than "children cant consent". the latter position abolishes any importance of child's wants.

Your definition of homeless is firstly doxxing and secondly not what most mean by it.

The attack at me and callous way you brought those thigns up are all signs of sociopathy especially when used as a defense of yor empathy.

You dont know if I have a gf. I wont tell the site.

Those weren't attacks, but it's interesting why you perceive it that way. Wishing that you have a girlfriend finally, isn't really an attack. It is literally wishing you well.

Nope. I just don't see why you perceive those as attacks. At worst, it's just pushing you to fix your life.

No idea where GG resides.

But I guess from a Bosnian perspective GG is remote...And vice verse obviously.

There is no way to not feel guilt for doing something wrong. One either firmly believes there is no wrong doing, thus ignores the natural behavior that does feel guilt, or they accept the natural behavior that is guilt for wrong doing. There is wrong doing that has minor effect on ourselves and others, and there is wrong doing that has massive consequence to ourselves, but worse, to others, who thus innocently suffer for the wrong doing of others.

Third option is admitting there is a wrong doing, but blaming it on others or God.

@SatanLucy

Yes, that is an option, but it is rarely a fair assessment of personal performance. No one in existence is going to fool God.

Doesn't have to fool God. It merely needs to blame God so personal guilt isn't felt.

Only a therapist or a psychiatrist can diagnose you with anti-social personality disorder and give you insight what's going on in your head.

Anyone saying you're a sociopathic aren't professionals and don't need to take their comments seriously. Only professionals can help you understand.

There is several reasons why a person may lack guilt or show lack of remorse.

Emotional numbness can cause a person to feel detached from their emoitions.

Narcissistic disorders.

Other forms of personality disorders.

You need to speak to a professional to get a more accurate or more practical source to understand what's going on.

Aye Aye Capin and shiver me timbers.

If someone is anti-social and behaves like a twat, then it doesn't require the substantial fees of a therapist or psychiatrist to substantiate a general consensus.

Though for sure, these days it's a crime to point the finger and tell the truth...Far to simple and cheap.

thats only true if I tell therapist all my thoughts, which is a bad idea for me.

I dont behave like a twat. I am a nice person. Not because I think being nice is always good by default, but because it benefits my self-interest and improves my position in society through reciprocity principle which holds valid in majority or at least a great amount of human relationships, much greater than being not nice.

thats because I started smoking. I didnt know the truth until then.

Well, I was guessing that it was more to do with a realisation, differentiating between rationality and irrationality...Thanks in the main to DebateArt and DebateCraft.

Not sure if one can apply the same to smoking... Though, chemicals and altered brain state might play a part I suppose.

Smoking altered my brain. I guess debate art helped too, even tho I never changed my mind on almost any issue. I just altered my communication.

Smoking just calmed your nerves. It is not strong enough to alter your brain but it is addictive.
