Well I partake of DebateCraft simply because I enjoy doing so...If I didn't enjoy it, then I wouldn't bother.
And I regard provoking a response as a necessary prerequisite of the genre...Otherwise it would just be a pat on the back club.
"Rage bait" is just a silly modern synonym, designed to replicate itself.
