—> The only “proof” you need that Biden didn’t cause inflation is the fact that it was a global phenomenon

thats not proof.

It absolutely is to the uneducated voter who just thinks “Biden president, inflation bad, therefore Biden bad”.

To maintain this belief given the fact that the same inflation trends occurring here in the US were occurring all over the developed world you have to believe that either Biden caused global inflation (an extraordinary claim), or that it was just a coincidence that nearly every developed nation in the world was going through their own generational levels of inflation at the same time we were (another extraordinary claim).

Both of these totally defy occam’s razor (which is philosophy speak for you’re an idiot if you believe that) given that by far the simplest explanation is that inflation was primarily the result of a global pandemic that destroyed global supply chains, making products previously depended upon much more difficult to get (economics 101 - supply and demand).

Democrats could have said "Biden is insane and incompetent". Instead, they pretended an obvious incompetence was competence.

Democrats have no one to blame but themselves.

Trump didn’t win because the Democratic Party is weak and incompetent, he won because voters refused to hold him to the same standard as they hold every other candidate for office. Any office.

This post is a perfect example of that double standard at play. You fault democrats because they refused to call out obvious incompetence. Meanwhile the Republican candidate thought Haitian Americans were eating their neighbors cats and dogs, still thinks he won the 2020 election, and thought Nikki Haley was in charge of Capitol security.

If your uncle started talking like this you would commit him to a group home, but it’s Donald Trump so no one cares.

But let’s talk more about how incompetent Biden was, and how the democrats suck for not calling it out, even though they eventually did, while the republicans to this day continue to pretend Trump is a deity. Because calling out the party leader for being incompetent is the real value Americans care about. Clearly.

He was incompetent. The US narrative industry protected Biden, and now people are walking away from that narrative factory. That's the price for failure.

inflation was primarily the result of a global pandemic that destroyed global supply chains

I appreciate your opinion, but really, bots usually think in this "A causes B" type of thinking. In other words, they think something only has one cause, which in case of inflation, couldnt be further from truth. So trying to use "Occam's razor" to figure out single cause of inflation is probably the worst application of said razor I have ever seen. Its like trying to figure out which specific drop of rain made you wet when its raining and you are all wet.

And throwing yourself at war with Russia sure as hell helped inflation too, but lets not mention that. And lets not mention that inflation lasted till the very end of Biden's term, far after pandemic, Biden was still riding on high inflation while saying things such as "President of Ukraine, Putin".

And now you want to pretend that a man who was literally insane in the final year of his term managed economy great. Yeah, that message really didnt go well with voters.

@Double_R
the simplest explanation is that

Only idiots need simplest explanation, which is why I recommend using my standard when talking to average voter. Your explanation is way more complicated than my standard, so it is not good for average voter in USA who fails at any explanation more complicated than "if things bad, leader is at fault". While you make excuses for total incompetence, anyone can do that on both sides, and that confuses the poor voter, so they have to use my standard anyway, and Occam's razor prefers simple explanation, and there is no more simple explanation than "if things bad, leader is at fault". Your countless excuses, and even your use of occam's razor itself in such a retarded way because it actually has nothing to do with "simplest explanation", would only confuse the average voter and would be far from simplest explanation.

and how the democrats suck for not calling it out, even though they eventually did

Only a political bot can think this is a reasonable statement. So after a whole year of pretending Biden was great while he couldnt put two sentences together in any conversation he had at any place, then forcing him to a debate which was more of a humiliation treatment for eldery than a debate, they EVENtually DID call it out. I think your political bot programming needs an update, because the reasonable thing to do would be to call Biden out immediatelly. the unreasonable thing to do is to spend years pretending everything is fine, and then even after finally calling Biden out but being way too late to do it and contradicting yourself because you spent a whole year lying and claiming everything was fine, then claiming "I couldnt think of a thing I would do differently". Yeah, thats how you lose elections easily. Good work.

@Shoresy
And there is the cult-like excuse worthy of an A-grade political bot.

I dont think he even knows what he is talking about. Instead of just being a reasonable person and admitting they should have called out Biden immediately, he defends that the correct move actually was "pretending everything was fine until they could no longer pretend anymore".

@SatanLucy
So trying to use "Occam's razor" to figure out single cause of inflation is…

Google the word “primarily”. Then read my statement… again.

And throwing yourself at war with Russia sure as hell helped inflation too, but lets not mention that.

So Putin ordering a “special operation” where he sends his military into Ukraine to take control of it, is Ukraine throwing themselves at war???

Or is “yourself” in this statement the United States, in which case… we’re at war with Russia???

I’m confused. What is the story in your fantasy riddled mind?

And lets not mention that inflation lasted till the very end of Biden's term

Inflation was at 2.7% at the end of Biden’s term, and was at about that level the entire last year as well as most of 2023. Tell me more.

And now you want to pretend that a man who was literally insane in the final year of his term managed economy great.

No, I’m pretending that your original claim that Trump’s economy now is better than Harris’s economy would have been is pure nonsense. You’re grasping for straws because you have nothing else.

Only idiots need simplest explanation

The simplest explanation is literally how we determine which explanation is most plausible, says centuries of philosophical thought.

there is no more simple explanation than "if things bad, leader is at fault".

Perhaps I should take that last part back, apparently you do not understand the concept of simplicity within Occam’s razor.

In OR, the simplest explanation is not the dumbest or easiest to articulate, it’s the explanation that requires the fewest assumptions. The president of the United States single handily causing global inflation… that requires enormous assumptions, starting with the idea that the president has that kind of power in the first place. The idea that a global pandemic that shut down businesses all over the world would make products harder to get, which would make them more expensive, doesn’t require any assumptions, only a kindergarten level understanding of supply and demand.

That’s what we’re talking about. And that matters because you said inflation being a global phenomenon is not proof that he didn’t cause it, which is only true if you ignore that fact (in which case it’s not proof because the proof itself was hand waived away), or it’s not proof because the listener isn’t interested in utilizing basic critical thinking (in which case the concept of proof has no meaning at all).

your use of occam's razor itself in such a retarded way because it actually has nothing to do with "simplest explanation"

It’s not my use, it’s how every notable philosopher in human history has used the term or at least employed it, because it is in fact common sense that only requires some internal analyzing to understand was there the whole time.

If you still don’t understand it, google it.

you make excuses for total incompetence

No, that’s what you’re doing by blaming the Democratic Party for the fact that too many Americans are too stupid to understand that there’s more to grading a president than “inflation bad, Biden president, therefore Biden bad”.

So you concede your statement was irrelevant. Okie dokie.

Inflation was at 2.7% at the end of Biden’s term, and was at about that level the entire last year as well as most of 2023. Tell me more.

The U.S. inflation rate in 2023 was

3.4% for the 12 months ending in December,

The U.S. annual inflation rate for 2024 was approximately

2.9% to 3.0%

The U.S. annual inflation rate in 2025 was approximately

2.6% to 2.7%

Edit post

@Double_R
I’m pretending that your original claim that Trump’s economy now is better than Harris’s economy would have been is pure nonsense

Inflation is better now than it was under Biden. Kamala said she would do same as Biden.

As of early 2026, the US annual inflation rate has continued to moderate, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropping to

2.4% in January 2026

The simplest explanation is literally how we determine which explanation is most plausible

Sadly, thats only how bots understand Occam's razor. You see, the razor has nothing to do with number of assumptions or with simplicity of explanations, because each explanation has equal number of assumptions. If you assume assumption A, for different explanation, you have to assume assumption Not A.

Its not the number of assumptions. It is the probability of assumptions which matters. the number of assumptions is always same. If you assume president of USA cant increase global inflation, that is your assumption, but then you contradict yourself when saying trump is doing that right now.

Edit post

#75 •••
@Double_R
The idea that a global pandemic that shut down businesses all over the world would make products harder to get, which would make them more expensive, doesn’t require any assumptions

Sadly, the idea that global pandemic is the only thing causing rise in prices is an assumption which is most obviously incorrect, and the idea that president has no power to manage economy to reduce influence of global pandemic is another assumption which is most obviously incorrect.

So you want to blame entire inflation on global pandemic, to make excuse for your party, while at the same time conceding pandemic isnt cause of whole inflation, and conceding inflation kept going even after pandemic.

And to make things worse, this same pandemic which existed during trump, somehow didnt cause inflation at all during trump. You really say the silliest things.

Edit post

#76 •••

The U.S. inflation rate in 2020 was approximately 1.2% to 1.4%

The USA inflation rate in December 2020 was

1.4% for all items over the previous 12 months, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

then Biden takes over in 2021.

The U.S. inflation rate in 2021 was

4.7% on an annual average basis, driven by a rapid rise to 7.0% by December 2021

The U.S. inflation rate in 2022 was exceptionally high, with the annual average Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) rising by 8.0%

. Year-over-year inflation peaked at 9.1% in June 2022, the largest 12-month increase since November 1981

Edit post

#77 •••

And to say that inflation was global ignores the fact that inflation wasnt same everywhere.

Germany's annual inflation rate in 2021 was 3%. - lower than in USA.

China's consumer inflation remained tame in 2021, with the annual CPI rising only 0.9% year-on-year.

Japan experienced deflation in 2021, with the annual average inflation rate coming in at -0.23%.

France in 2021, the annual average consumer price inflation in France was relatively low, recorded at approximately

1.6% to 1.64%

Now start making excuses why Biden performed much worse than these nations.

Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) is a pseudoscientific pejorative term used to describe negative reactions to U.S. president Donald Trump that are characterized as irrational and disconnected from Trump's actual policy positions.[1] The term has mainly been used by Trump supporters to discredit criticism of him, as a way of reframing the discussion by suggesting that his opponents are incapable of accurately perceiving the world.

That's the "Butt Trummp" club mentality. If you disagree, there's only one reason why.

Political bot programming has no nuance.

To normal people like you and me, TDS people ironically hold Trump up to be "the standard" to measure their own tribe with the plethora of "butt Trummps". It's ridiculous how obsessed they are to the point they hold as the gold standard a person they are supposed to hate....

What happened to all their tribe's heroes??? They got old and Bidened out? No fresh blood anywhere?

the funny thing is, I dont even support trump. I clearly supported Kamala in 2024. I dont even support trump now or his actions. But I can see how democrat bots are actually helping trump. Saying in 2024 that Biden did a great job helped trump win more than any speech from trump himself.

But because Kamala was paid by trump and has a history with trump supporting her in past and giving her money, I must assume Kamala was controlled opposition, because she did everything she could to lose without making it way too obvious. She was literally saying things which made trump look better.

"Biden did a great job"

I’m just going to turn this one over to AI;

Bottom Line
Post-COVID inflation performance:
2021–2022: U.S. inflation rose sharply (similar to peers) 📈
2023–2024: U.S. inflation fell relatively quickly 📉
Overall: Better than many advanced countries, but not uniquely good.

Sadly, the idea that global pandemic is the only thing causing rise in prices is an assumption which is most obviously incorrect

Which is why I never made it. Google the word “primarily”.

the idea that president has no power to manage economy to reduce influence of global pandemic is another assumption which is most obviously incorrect.

Never said that either. You really love arguing with yourself.

So you want to blame entire inflation on global pandemic

Nope. Google the word “primarily”. I used it for a reason.

And to make things worse, this same pandemic which existed during trump, somehow didnt cause inflation at all during trump. You really say the silliest things.

The reason inflation “somehow” didn’t increase during Covid is because businesses were closed and people were unemployed. So supply plummeted… and so demand. When businesses started opening back up again in 2021 after vaccines became widely available, demand picked back up, but many of the businesses supplying the products were thrown completely out of whack as most suppliers, the ones that made it past covid, adjusted their business models to fit a Covid world. That caused a major supply shortages, and when demand returns faster than supply… prices go up. It’s not mystery, it’s kindergarten level economics.

@SatanLucy
When debating me, he actually assumes I am a republican or trump supporter even after I repeatedly told him I am not.

No genius, I’m responding to the arguments you made.

You argued, with no evidence and in spite of the obvious reasons to conclude otherwise, that the economy today is better than it would have been under Harris.

When challenged to support that argument, the only thing you could come up with is “inflation”, while ignoring the fact that inflation was a global phenomenon, leaving no reason at all to presume that Biden caused it or that Trump would have handled it any better.

So when pressed to justify your support you then resorted to the position the presidents are responsible for whatever happens during their term, no further thought required. And when I challenged you on that idea, you ultimately resorted to blaming Trump for Covid.

Now you are still trying to claw your way out of that hole. The latest is to try and turn this into an inflation statistic battle, and even went so low as to compare Biden’s inflation in 2021 with Trump’s inflation in 2020. Yeah, 2020, as in when damn near half the entire country was unemployed. Cause that’s much better.

But I’m the one with TDS. Wow.

Why would you copy republicans? I thought you hated them.

Im not copying them, I’m responding to your argument and showing you how silly it is. Here, you argued that the democrats are weak because they refused to check their leader who is obviously cognitively impaired.

Well I hate to break it to you, but we have a two party system here, so if one of the two parties is weak because they don’t check their leader, then the other would have to be better, but yet the other party is worse. Way worse.

So, logically, the issue here is not that one party refuses to check their leader. The issue is that we have an electorate in this country that does not hold both parties to the same standards. And you by even pushing this argument demonstrate the problem first hand regardless of who you voted for. That’s the point.

Agreed, the political bots are mostly in one party. The one giving Trump scrutiny 24/7 for 12 straight years, even when he wasn't in control of anything for 4 years, and equal cover for their own beloved leaders' mistakes.

That's why Democrats are losing, because normal people know by Occam's Razor that NO coverage means something corrupt is going on. See Epstein files. If they didn't know before, they found out hard when Biden revealed what was covered up for 4 years.

@SatanLucy

If Biden had shrunk or avoided the $1.9T American Rescue Plan, peak inflation likely would’ve been lower. Serious estimates put ARP at roughly +1 to +3 percentage points on the 9% peak inflation. That’s not pocket change. Inflation was already heating up from supply constraints and reopening demand, but ARP poured jet fuel on a tight goods market. Strip that demand surge out, and maybe you’re staring at 6–7% instead of 9% peak inflation. Still hot. Less explosive.

Now Ukraine. The war added energy and food shock, maybe another +1 to +2 points on headline CPI at peak. But here’s the cold math: U.S. inflation was already above 7% before the invasion. The fire was already burning. The war threw gasoline (pun intended) on energy prices, especially in Europe, which affected global supply and prices. Assuming a U.S. president could’ve single-handedly deterred Russia, and maybe peak inflation lands around 4–6% instead of 9%. Better? Yes. Back to normal? No. But definitely could have been better. High gas prices affected the poor and working class immensely. And the ripple effects from scarce energy show up in more metrics than just inflation numbers. That's cold facts, not narrative political bot slop.

Yeah, USA did have among worst inflation rates in the world during Biden. While political bots want to instruct AI to argue for their side, and as a result, lead AI to wrong conclusion, I simply ask AI if something is true or not.

Here’s a clear comparison of U.S. inflation versus the average world inflation in 2021 and 2022 using widely-reported data (measured by annual % change in consumer prices):

📊 Inflation Rates (Annual %)

United States

  1. 2021: ~4.7 % (U.S. CPI annual average) (-)
  2. 2022: ~8.0 % (U.S. CPI annual average) (-)

World (Global Average)

  1. 2021: ~3.5 % (global inflation CPI) (Macrotrends)
  2. 2022: ~7.9 % (global inflation CPI) (Macrotrends)

📌 Comparison

  1. 2021: U.S. inflation (~4.7 %) was higher than the global average (~3.5 %). (GlobalData)
  2. 2022: U.S. inflation (~8.0 %) was slightly higher than or on par with the global average (~7.9 %). (-)

🧠 Conclusion

Yes — in both years 2021 and 2022, inflation in the United States was higher than the average inflation rate around the world.

  1. The gap was more noticeable in 2021.
  2. By 2022, global inflation surged sharply (due to energy price shocks, supply constraints, etc.), bringing the world average almost on par with the U.S. rate. (Macrotrends)

If you want, I can also break down how U.S. inflation compared to other major economies in those years.

Common sense, really. Trump is just Iraq 2.0....both parties do it, but they got away with a shit ton this time under Biden.

God knows how many millionaires he made with all the spending bills and favorable loopholes he passed. Millions of dollars flowing to the rich with millions of cheap under-the-table labor. Massive subsidies to companies under the "Inflation Reduction Act."

Money was siphoned off from Ukraine while they impeached a President to cover it all up.

Meanwhile, Trump's accused of having the equivalent of "weapons of mass destruction" like Bush did with Iraq on a daily basis. Biden literally called Trump an existential threat. Voters don't like this kind of "fool me twice" politics in America.
