You have to be mature to understand and make choices.
Well, maturity is a variable concept...And often a contradictory concept.
The ability to choose, and the freedom to make other choices certainly does not conform to the intellectual concept of sexual maturity, especially in liberal western societies.
That is why they want to raise the age of voting.
