Trump made a good point about pope leo. Its one things for a figure head like the pope to in a general sense be against war. But theres a time for war and a time for passivity. As trump said, is it really fitting for the vicar of christ to be in support of allowing a country like iran to eventually have nukes? Theres something to be said about lofty pie in the sky rhetoric about how war is not ideal, but i think leo needs to know his role and tone down casting pearls at someone like trump who is simply trying to keep the world safe

@linate

For sure, keeping the World safe by making it unsafe seems sort of counter productive to me.

And we're supposed to trust a deluded Trump and his corrupt track record, with a stockpile of 6000 plus nukes. Hmmmm, perhaps you cannot see the hypocrisy.

@SergeantLynch

Some people trust the Pope with prayers to keep Iran from nuking Israel and Vatican City.

Equally deluded people. We should let TDS win this one and give Iran the bomb. At least that way, half of the deluded people will be eliminated.

You think the Pope should defer to Donald Trump's superior moral judgement?

That makes sense, I mean, Trump has a Bible named after him, the Pope doesn't,

Instead of “the Pope should tone it down,” a stronger version of my point might be:

The Pope should affirm Just War principles more explicitly when addressing real-world threats, so his moral guidance remains credible in situations where force might be necessary.

That's a good point, the Pope's moral guidance would be more credible if he would agree with Trump on things like war and genocide.

When will the Pope let Trump show him the way, Trump is the way and the truth and the life, just ask him.

He couldn't post this if it wasn't true.

"Behold, nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of MAGA is within you."

"Pay to me, all you who are guilty and convicted, and I will give you a pardon."

"Pay me, and the pardon will set you free”

@Sidewalker

Why would you want Jesus for your president? He would take all your stuff and throw it into the ocean. Oh, wait, that's your daily Democrat.

Carry on.

Do you think murderers should be allowed to have guns? If no why would you think iran should be allowed to have nukes?

Catholicism is dead.

The US is a definitively secular nation, founded on complete separation of the State and religion. The Left Wing of US realise this but don't realise that pure freedom requires as low tax and free access to guns as possible. The Right Wing of US don't realise that secular pure freedom means the LGBTQ+ and abortion agendas both end up in line with US's liberty-first ethos.

It is left-wing to be pro-life. You are backing poor babies being born at the inconvenience of the already-born. Go figure.

@linate

The USA is currently the biggest "real-world threat".

A close second, or even neck and neck comes Israel.

Show me when Trump used, or was about to use one of our 6,000 nukes. You're as deluded as you claim Trump is.

Well, Trump did say "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.". The only way you can do this is through nukes.

Oh no, you killed it already.

@FLRW

Best look up what "civilization" means, because it isn't what you obviously think it means.

Ancient Egypt was a civilization. Nobody nuked them.

Ancient Greece was, too. Nobody nuked them.

Rome, as well. Nuked? Nope.

Not a woke word, by the way.

@fauxlaw

Civilization comes from the Latin for city.

And as Iran does not have nukes...Such is the ongoing US/Israeli delusion and hypocrisy.

I seem to recall a similar situation previously...Iraq ring any bells Faux...A previous oil war led by another somewhat intellectually retarded President.

Hunting for oil on the pretext of hunting for weapons of mass destruction and killing up to 200000 Iraqi civilians to boot...Such is your idea of civilization Faux.

Civilization comes from the Latin for city.

That is etymology [word origin], not definition. Try to distinguish the difference. The etymology of "privacy" is also Latin: "privatus," which is [meaning] "set apart," and "not belonging to the state." Tell that latter meaning to 19th century slaves, my friend.

And as Iran does not have nukes...

Iran has over 400kg of 60%-enriched plutonium, which has a singular purpose that does not include energy sourcing. It is only used to create nuclear weapons when enriched to the full nuclear weapon need of 90% enrichment, which can be accomplished with no further tech needed that Iran doers not lack, within weeks. We frankly don't know if they've already achieved that added 30%, but cannot allow it, period.

A previous oil war

Thinking this is about oil is about as ridiculous as thinking Oba'a did us a favor creating deal with Iran that gave them, besides time, several billion dollars. That is retarded.

Hunting for oil

The US does not need to hunt for oil, my friend. We have more than anyone else in the world in proven reserves. Unproved...? More.

Maybe they made him a moderator, that would surely do it.

The last time that happened, it was a lot like a nuke. LOL

I'm a practicing Catholic. And I need to say something that's going to make a lot of people uncomfortable.

Nigeria. The Sahel. India. Syria. Bangladesh. Pakistan. Hundreds of Christians have been murdered this year alone. Churches burned to the ground. Pastors kidnapped and killed. Communities that have practiced their faith for centuries are being wiped out.

Pope Leo XIV has said almost nothing.

No named condemnations. No emergency visits. No breaking of protocol. Just quiet platitudes about dialogue and peace — directed at nobody in particular.

But the week Trump escalated the Iran war? Leo flew across continents, gave media interviews, posted viral messages, and had three American Cardinals appear on 60 Minutes in what felt like a coordinated response. Bishop Strickland was removed for defending Church doctrine. Bishop Fernández in Puerto Rico was removed for defending religious exemptions that the Catechism itself supports. During COVID, governments padlocked churches across the world — the Vatican said nothing publicly. Joe Biden received communion for four years while publicly funding abortion policy — the Vatican said nothing.

But Trump calls Leo "weak" — and suddenly the institutional Church finds its voice.

I'm not defending Trump's tone. Trump talks like Trump. Water is wet.

I'm asking why my Church saves its loudest moments for American politics — and its quietest moments for the people actually dying for the faith.

That question deserves an honest answer.

Do you think the Pope should speak louder about Christian persecution worldwide? YES or NO? 👇
