In Exodus 6:3. God speaks to Moses saying:

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.

But any reader of the Bible should know right away that this just has to be

pure bollocks considering that Abraham HIMSELF mentions the name of his god to others in many places as Jehovah!

I shall now wait for the usual Bollocks from the usual suspect as they try to scrape and spin their way around this, yet another biblical anomaly.

God was telling Moses he was special because the others only knew him by his generic name.

It doesn't answer the question you thick twat!. That is probably because as usual, you don't see the GLARING problem both between gods' and Abrahams statements. I won't be spelling it out for you because you are such a dunce.

Off you go now. Please.

OK. Then name them, and show us where in th BIBLE does it say so?

In Joshua 24:2-4 the passage teaches that Torah and his son Abraham and Nahor served other gods. They were polytheist but God took Abraham for himself.

Why is that you always have resort to telling blatant lies?

There is nothing at all in that verse that even indicates the Abraham worshipped "several" other gods, as you claim.

The family of Abraham starting with his father worshipped several Gods. Idolatry was the religion during his time and generation. Historical fact.

This is false. What you see is an assumptive translation that is anything but a transliteration.

Our Holy Lord's 'true' name (meaning the name beyond the Trinity Titles of Father, Son and Holy Spirit) that all 3 persons are from the essence of and form the Godhead together from/within is Lord YHWH/YHVH (NEVER ever use this name in vain).

The assumption that the vowels e, o and a will between all 3 is one interpretation. Another well known one is 'a' between the first 2 and 'e' between the last 2.

The Lord did not intend us to even half-casually use that name. That's his most sacred name, even as I type this I must tremble in fear if I am using it in anything but glorification of him. Abraham did not even exist when full Judaism had formed yet, that only began under the prophethood of Moses. To suggest Abraham 'spread the name' to all of his descendants and knew for sure how to say it and that it was the e-o-a vowel scheme is very presumptive.

Abraham knew him as Ela and Elohim (clue to Trinity, this one as it's plural and singular at once). This was how Abraham called the almighty most likely.

Abraham entered into a covenant of circumcision which today symbolizes idolatry. That is exactly what Muslims practice and believe in.

What is false? God told Moses that h had not revealed his true name to Abraham. But in many verse we can read Abraham going around spouting his name all over the place. So how did Abraham know what god himself says he'd never revealed his name to him?

he's not revealed " unto Isaac, and unto Jacob", either. So tell me what is false?

Thicko Debby failed to even see the contradiction and you appear to have too.

Exodus 6:2-3 God tells Moses that he appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob , but his name Yahweh was not known to them. Yahweh is passed along in a list of gods but its true impact was felt during Moses time.

There were many titles and in-practise 'names' Abraham used for God (even God itself is such a title that is utilised as a name):

Adonai (Lord or Master): Used by Abraham when speaking directly to God in prayer, such as in Genesis 15:2 when he asks, "Lord God [Adonai Yahweh], what will you give me...?" [1]
El Shaddai (God Almighty / The All-Sufficient One): Used when God appeared to Abraham to reaffirm His covenant in Genesis 17:1. [1]
El Elyon (God Most High): Used by Abraham in Genesis 14:19 when speaking to the King of Sodom, describing God as the "possessor of heaven and earth". [1]
El Olam (The Everlasting God): Used by Abraham in Genesis 21:33 after planting a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, where he "called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God". [1]
Jehovah-Jireh (The Lord Will Provide): Named by Abraham in Genesis 22:14 at the place where he was tested with Isaac, meaning "the Lord will see" or provide. [1]

Now, you're very focused specifically on that last one.

Understanding the Hebrew Idiom of "Knowing"
In biblical Hebrew, "knowing" a name means more than just recognizing a vocal sound or reading a word. It means experiencing the character, power, and reality behind that name through personal action.
As noted on Quora, there is a consensus among many biblical scholars that “while the patriarchs knew God's name, 'Jehovah', they had not experienced the full realization of its meaning, 'He Causes to Become', particularly in the context of His promises being fulfilled through powerful acts of deliverance and judgment.” -- [Quora].
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob knew the name Yahweh historically or textually, but they walked with God primarily under the aspect of El Shaddai (God Almighty), trusting promises that would only be actualized centuries later.

Great explanation dealing with the contradiction. Moses spent a lot more time with God than anyone before him.

No one even knows if blokes named Moses and Abraham actually existed...Let alone knowing what they actually might have said.

It always seems a tad futile arguing the toss over such archaic myths and legends that are based upon hand me down word of mouth folk tales.

And as for the floaty about Magic Man creation and existence hypothesis.

But you are not.

And depending on which version of which BIBLE one chooses to believe, and which name or title Abraham uses it does not alter the fact that GOD didn't reveal his NAME to him nor to Issac and Jacob.

"And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand unto Jehovah, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth"

(Genesis 14:22)

"And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of Jehovah it shall be seen."

(Genesis 22:14)

ONLY he couldn't have said this because the name of GOD hadn't even told him his name ..... or any name.

Isaac and Jacob use "Yahweh" less frequently, in the bible. So how did they know?

I am Yahweh. And I showed to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as El-Shaddai, and by my name, 'Yahweh', I did not make myself known to them.

Bible dunce Debby says: @GreatfulGoy Great explanation dealing with the contradiction.

NO, THICKY, he isn't

Have you not read EVER the BIBLE at all or even the verse in question , you plebeian?

God, we know from the BIBLE certainly made himself known to Abraham and his wife. He walked up to him at his tent with two others, he sat down and he had a fkn meal with them, leaving them with a promise that his barren wife would have have a child.

Indeed this seems to be a God ( a creator of all the universe and everything in it no less) that hungers and thirsts and needs his feet washed.

BUT we know from the BIBLE! that this, - apparently - is the same god appeared to Moses as a bush that was on fire. So do you not see the difference here, Plebbo!?

Here you go, stupid>>> Gen18  And >>the Lord<<< appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.

8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

Off you go now thicky.

Moses worked closer with God than Abraham. Abraham was 100 when god told him his wife would bear him a child. Abraham did not believe God and took on a slave Hagar to bear him his first born.

You haven't even read the story have you, you idiot?

It was Sarah that didn't believe and laughed at the idea of her giving birth, and then denied laughing. You BIBLE DUNCE!

HERE you go. Learn something else from your uncle Stephen>>>>

9 “Where is Sarah, your wife?” the visitors asked.

“She’s inside the tent,” Abraham replied.

10 Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!”

Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent. 11 Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children. 12 So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?”

13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

15 Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, “I didn’t laugh.”

And this has nothing at all to do with this particular topic.

Hmmmm, according to the Gospel of Luke (2:21), Jesus Christ was circumcised on the eighth day after his birth.  This act fulfilled Jewish Law and served to demonstrate his true humanity and obedience to the Old Testament covenant with Abraham.

Do you just make things up to get yourself out of that fkn great hole that you continue to dig for yourself?

Here Stupid. From the BIBLE that you have never read nor would understand if you had>>>>> "Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness". Genesis 15:6

And you forget that it was Abraham that understood his god well enough to know and be able to negotiate with him to save some of the citizens of Sodom.

Genesis 18:20 - 19:29

Now you have dug your fkn great hole, I should jump in it and pull the ground back over yourself.
