Again, not sure what any of that means to anybody. Science and religion are completely unrelated, and you could list every single scientist on the planet and tell me they're atheists, and it means nothing. Just like someone could list every theist on the planet that's done good works and it means absolutely nothing.

Stephen Hawking did not believe in God. He was an atheist and explicitly stated that there is no God, and that the universe was not created or directed by any higher power. At the risk of sounding arrogant and going against the spirit of a debate site, there is no point arguing about religion. If someone does not implicitly understand that religion in all its forms is a creation of humans without basis in reality, the heavens and Earth can be moved without persuading them otherwise.

Even the Bible talks about the afterlife. Hindus believe in the cycle of rebirths dictated by their Karma.

Humans needed an opiate when they saw young children dying.

Why would human beings who lived closer to nature think their children dying was any more special than any other animals young dying? It would have simply been viewed as a part of life. I can't think of any pagan religion that has a special afterlife for children. They die the same as adults. It's not any different.

Nope. You can't even tell what someone's religion is unless they're wearing an icon or dressed a certain way. And we could get into a whole discussion about how pagans/polytheists, don't even have groups to practice with.

Even if an atheist has metaphysical beliefs that amount to religious beliefs, unless those metaphysical beliefs are somehow part of what it means to be an atheist, the fact that they are religious in nature doesn't mean atheism is religious in nature. What metaphysical beliefs are both religious and entailed by atheism?

I think every religion should have its own hat and that people who follow a religion should wear that hat. That way we'd all know where each other stands, and we wouldn't have to talk to each other.
