We have no evidence of spirits existing, and along with hallucinations schizophrenic people experience many other psychotic symptoms. This all points to it being a psychiatric illness.
Remember that Stephen Hawking said, It’s my view that the simplest explanation is that there is no God. No one created the universe and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realisation: there is probably no heaven and afterlife either. I think belief in an afterlife is just wishful thinking. There is no reliable evidence for it, and it flies in the face of everything we know in science. I think that when we die we return to dust. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe, and for that I am extremely grateful.
Stephen Hawking's opinion on religion means about as much as the Pope's opinion on atheism.

And like I said to Lucy, if spells and mystical stuff make you feel good, then it's obviously of some benefit to you.

I just want to say I won a debate with the contention that Atheism is a Religion.
Definitions by Merriam-Webster:
Atheism - “a philosophical or religious position characterized by disbelief in the existence of a god or any gods”
Religion - “a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices”
Religious - “relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality…”
You look at the def of 'Religion,' it's easy to see Atheism is a religion.
If you're someone who goes, "No Atheism is a disbelief not a belief," well there is a tautology in that you are failing to recognize.
'Atheists disbelieve in the existence of God' is equal to 'Atheists believe in the non-existence of God.' So, looks like Atheists do have a belief under a religion.
Then you should go to that part forum and talk about it.
At this point, atheists are claiming that some atheists figured out they could manipulate the mentally ill, which seems to be everybody but them, and started religion and now their complaining religion exists.
Research indicates that religious beliefs may be influenced by the prefrontal cortex, particularly in terms of cognitive flexibility and openness to diverse viewpoints.
All because atheists wanted to con the mentally ill.

Warren Buffet is an atheist and he is 95 years old. Jesus lived to 33 years old.
Theists used theism to "con" the illiterate and uneducated, which nonetheless aided social and material evolution.
So although I do not accept religious hypotheses as being 100% factual and therefore am not a practising theist, I still recognise the basic analogous principles of religion, and also the role religion has played in social evolution.
I also continue to propose that a Universe, it's laws and it's inevitable progression, is the GOD principle that we are all inextricably a part of, and therefore any religious idea that consequently manifests in a human brain is an essential product of that thinking unit and also a necessary component of collective thought and material development.
And now perhaps, we are being superseded by technology and a higher level of intelligence, the new theism, the new system of social control and material and Universal progress.
Or maybe everything that is occurring here on Planet Earth and it's environs, is just a freak occurrence that will eventually be erased by a local star...But for some reason I have an acquired notion that tends to think not...Could just be an acquired notion...Or perhaps it was written into my DNA...Anyway, however we choose to interpret such things from a human perspective, it can all be loosely categorised under the general heading of Uncertain Ideology.
And "mental illness" is one thinking units observation and consequent conclusions of another's. And it is more likely that in human times past, people who began to think outside of the controlling religious box, were regarded as mentally ill and suffered as a consequence. Nonetheless, theists are now just as addicted to social media and technology as atheists are...Such is the GOD principle.
Atheism is intelligence. In classical Greece and Rome, it was widely remarked that "fools" tended to be religious, while the "wise" were often skeptics.
Where is Rome today led by wise fools and atheists?

Lately there has been a bug in the ' edit ' option function. It has been saying ' edit failed ', so above in bold the word appear was added in and misspelled because I didnt see, or I didnt believe the edit worked. Also, I forgot the word ' not ', also in bold in the above.
If others were responding yes to message 138, then technically, that, means I was saying the opposite to what I meant, and they may or may not have correctly determined meaning. Please share if you have a defininning God, that, does not fall into catagorie's of God-A, God-b or God-C.
If you think have such God, please share. I'm doubtful anyone will have a God defintion, not falling into one or more of those catagory's, as Ive been asking others for many years, and none have offered a logical, common sense critical thinking answer not in those three. Best be with you.
