They succeeded, the Bible has stood the test of time .
Yes, some well preserved "Bibles" might have lying around for several hundred years or so...And for sure, other newer ones will have been standing on bookshelves for quite a while...Whereas others will have gone to the recycling centre, whereby "stood time testing" is no longer applicable.
The Bible could always be found in Churches.
