I don't have much else to say here. Just watch this video.

I buy it sort of but he says things very antiChristian about Islam. He ridicules and says "I will take Shahada if you prove X". This means he has arrogantly assumed something is not in Islam and if somehow he was wrong he just gambled on that he'd revert to Islam (they call conversion reversion as they say you are born Muslim even as a Kufar)

The US is a definitively secular nation, founded on complete separation of the State and religion. The Left Wing of US realise this but don't realise that pure freedom requires as low tax and free access to guns as possible. The Right Wing of US don't realise that secular pure freedom means the LGBTQ+ and abortion agendas both end up in line with US's liberty-first ethos.

It is left-wing to be pro-life. You are backing poor babies being born at the inconvenience of the already-born. Go figure.

there's a difference between confidence and arrogance

and Islam is anti-Christian.

Anyway, the fact that God can take one of the worst people in our society and turn him into one of the best, is a testimony of its own. I don't hear these kinds of redemption stories coming from Muslims.

Actually, Christianity is anti-Islam first. This is due to a variety of reasons.

Islam is anti-Judaism and anti-Christianity second, due to them being more complex for Islam to deny being true given its claims on reality and its own origin.

As for arrogance, David Wood is an arrogant literal psychopath but if this is about this spat, I have spotted Shamoun as a problem from early clips seeing him.

He reeks of narcissism. Dacid Wood does have some Narc tendencies butnfundamentally is a clinically diagnosed psychopath. He literally admitted to doingnsomethibn with a 13 yo and another underage girl, unless I understood the video wrong as I skipped parts.

I think he can legitimately go back to prison now for what he admitted. I am not sure what to say exactly.

Are ANY of those guys even Catholic?

Shamoun cospkayed as Catholic convert for a while andnbot called out and admitted he has never been confirmed and attends non-Cath church to take eucharist.

It is all rather ridiculous. Cath apologists tend to focus on Christianity. Prot and Ortho apologists seem focused on onlyfans direction of degeneracy and Islam.

Quite obviously, Islam was a response to Christianity

Basically, divisive political systems based upon a shared tenet.

And David Wood is just another transient blob of organic goo with a lot to say for itself...Plenty of them about.

Christianity says love thy neighbour even if they sin, Islam says make them bend to Islam.

SergeantLynch, the whole point of Christianity is that we are sinners redeemed. All of us are blobs made non-blobs by God.

If past sins, prior to conversion make him a blob today, then he as never redeemed… at which point you’d have to ignore the fact that he does not, in fact, behave like his old self.

Again, the fact that God can take someone as evil as him and redeem him, is a great testimony.

RM, If Christianity is anti Islam, then it is good to oppose Islam. Sounds like the prots are doing good. There is nothing in this video he says that is anti-Christian.

And finishing the video would do you some good, because the man served his time for everything he did in past; he converted in prison.

Don’t know what else to say here other than neither of you know what you’re talking about

What is David Wood diagnosed with?

He also said that after the assault on his father (who survived), Wood was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder and was sentenced to ten years in prison for malicious wounding.

I can’t agree with you more. I draw a very hard line at sexual abuse especially of a minor. I was disgusted when he tried to blank the 13-year-old.

That's kinda part of the point... it's like none of you even paid any attention to the video

He was a horrible person, and was redeemed in prison. It's part of his testimony. And he flips the script on the Muslims, while showing that they can't really insult him with the person he once was, because he isn't that person.

I think it's a great video. a modern day Saul to Paul story

I wonder if the lot of you who criticize Islam have ever read the Quran cover-to-cover, let alone the Holy Bible. Until you have, you're short on evidence other than heresy nonsense crap on the Net, where, of course, all is truth. Not.

Islam recognized Jesus as a Prophet of the Book. That tells me a great deal that disagrees with the crap. Just as many misinterpret the Bible, having never read it, either. No, neither are perfect, infallible books, but they're better than the Net will ever be.

He was a person who overstepped social law, and was punished accordingly.

Having time to realise ones folly and become all religious, is what it is.

Though it has to be said, that utilising and selling such experiences to provide an income shows a certain amount of acumen.

He could have taken up gardening, but who wants to get their finger nails dirty these days.

Even Jesus learned to accept his crucifixion as success.

@Debby

When did he say that?

Nope, I'm guessing that like most tales, other blokes made that one up, some time later.

Though for sure, it has become a huge money spinner.

In Christian theology, Jesus willingly accepted his crucifixion, viewing it as the essential act to

fulfill God's plan for the salvation of humanity and a decisive spiritual victory over sin, death, and Satan.

From a human or political standpoint at the time, the crucifixion appeared to be a public and humiliating defeat. However, Christian belief holds the exact reverse to be true. Jesus' death on the cross accomplished several key things, which is why the day of remembrance is called "Good" Friday:

  1. Atoning Sacrifice: Jesus acted as the perfect, final sacrifice to pay the debt for all human sins, which separated people from God. This act made the previous system of animal sacrifices in the Old Testament obsolete.
  2. Reconciliation with God: By dying in humanity's place, Jesus removed the barrier of sin that caused alienation from God, allowing for a restored relationship and access to God's presence.
  3. Victory over Evil and Death: The crucifixion is seen as the moment God triumphed over Satan and the powers of darkness. The subsequent resurrection of Jesus proved his complete victory over death, offering eternal life to all who believe.
  4. Demonstration of Love: Jesus' willingness to endure immense suffering and death for others, even while they were still sinners, is considered the ultimate expression of God's love for the world.

Jesus' final words on the cross, "It is finished" (John 19:30), are interpreted as a declaration that he had successfully and completely accomplished the redemptive work he was sent to do, not an expression of failure or despair. He consciously chose this path, famously praying, "Not my will, but yours, be done" (Luke 22:42).

"It is finished"

Could have meant that the fun and games were all over.

But boyfriend John just couldn't let it go.

Interpretation indeed.

I wonder what Australian Aboriginals and Northern Inuits made of it all.

Jesus said, "It is finished" (Greek: Tetelestai), not "I am finished," as recorded in John 19:30. This triumphant declaration on the cross signified the completion of His mission to redeem humanity, fulfilling God's plan for salvation, paying the penalty for sin, ending the old sacrificial system, and inaugurating a new creation, a declaration that the debt was paid in full.

Don't imagine for one second that Jesus and John didn't get erections.

Healthy young men get between 10 and 20 per day.

Edit post

#28 •••
@SergeantLynch

No, the Bible does not record Jesus talking about his erections

; mainstream Christian understanding, based on his teachings about celibacy (Matthew 19:12), suggests he lived a life without lust, while some theological interpretations, like Origen's and Tertullian's(mentioned in the Wikipedia snippet on Jesus's sexuality), link his humanity and divinity through symbolic depictions in art, such as his erection on the cross, to signify life even in death, not literal discussions.

Such was the extent of sexual repression back in the day, as it was to a greater extent up until the latter half of the 20th century. Still is in a lot of places and communities I guess.

The acquired fear and embarrassment associated with the human reproductive organs and their function, is a tad ludicrous to say the least. But that was progress for you.

Yes, Jesus spoke about sex,

primarily by emphasizing its sacredness within marriage, expanding the definition of adultery to include lustful thoughts (Matthew 5:27-28), and upholding the Genesis creation account as the standard for marriage (Matthew 19:3-6). He focused on internal desires and the heart, challenging superficial adherence to rules, and setting a standard that protected the marriage covenant, viewing it as God's design for male-female unity.
