Is there a such thing as a christian God?

Is the biblical God a christian God or Holy God?

Where did all these denominations come from?

Christianity was invented by man.

Christianity did not come from God .

If we read and understand the scriptures, we will learn all these derivatives forming sects for denominations never instituted by Christ/God.

It has nothing to do with my personal beliefs or what exactly is my religion as some suggest or assume.

Anyone with basic reading comprehension ability can argue and debate things regarding scripture regardless of personal background.

That's all it is . Just basic reading comprehension of the plain things. Not talking about the mysteries of the gospel and those it's given to where it's not so plain to those it is not given unto.

Through basic reading comprehension, a person can prove a point based on what is read and written. Just because a person can do that, says nothing of the person's actual religious background.

But because of the nature of error, you do error not knowing with the display of assumption not speaking on what you know.

According to the scripture, God didn't even invent or call anyone to be christian or didn't call any a christian. With basic reading comprehension without adding, presuming, reading into text, that conclusion is clear and plain.

Matter of text, matter of fact, the description in scripture  demonstrates where the classification or sect called christian came from.

Much conflation happens and attach things to scripture not even there which the scripture speaks against.

Are there any questions?

Tag me directly of course. Don't shy away like others do.

I'm not sure what you meant by “According to the scripture, God didn't even invent or call anyone to be christian or didn't call any a christian.”

God calls us to follow Him. What is a Christian? Oh, a follower of God. If you're saying the above because the word “Christian” isn't used in the Bible you are wasting people's time. Look at what "Christian" means.

"Christianity did not come from God ."

Yeah, it did. He is the cause for it.

"Tag me directly of course. Don't shy away like others do."

You haven't replied to my post I tagged you in on the other thread. Lol

I never said the word “christian” is not in the bible.

Even in what you quoted, I didn't say it .

I said “Christianity”. Not in any translation I read. Christianity is an invention of man.

When you read the scripture, you learn what God actually established for the faith and it wasn't called the christianity faith or even Christian faith. But people come along and invent labels and classifications and conflate things and coin things as what they did at Antioch.

Okay, this is what I thought you were going to bring up. Your thought process is: because the linguistic term came after the concept that the term is based on, that somehow yields a flaw or a problem. I disagree in the case of Christianity. Look at what Christianity is and explain why the definition disagrees with the Bible.

Christianity is an invention of man.

How is Christianity an invention of man and not caused by God?

I don't know what the definition is.

My concern is not the definition. It is mankind inventing the classification which is undeniable.

Furthermore to that, people will have all kinds of definitions and conflate them.

This is why it's important not to stray away from scripture with coining different things to be scripturally accurate .

Just like for some examples, modalism, Unitarianism, oneness, calvinism, armenianism, three personalities.

You start to invent schemes , concepts , getting off of just sound doctrine instead of denominating where the unity of truth according to scripture is lost.

All these denominations will claim Christianity, a man made umbrella but take this doctrine, leave that doctrine.

Where as the religion or faith of holiness, is the one way according to scripture. So why all this other stuff?

Man invented schemes .

But people don't think about this as it's one of the most if not the least missed detail upon learning the bible, learning the christian walk.

So you are saying that the word Christianity used as the term for the religion we are talking about bothers you because it is a scheme of a man to deviate people from Scripture and sound doctrine? What is your thought process for concluding Christianity is a scheme of man? You say that mankind creates schemes by coining things, but how is this the case with Christianity? What is functionally different from being a Christian and a follower of God? Are one of those terms not doctrinally sound? If so, how?

For your argument, you need to either prove that:

  1. All coined terms are schemes.
  2. The term Christianity is a scheme.

So far, you have used statement #1 to prove #2, but you have not proven statement #1 so your conclusion could still be false. Your entire proof for #2 comes from #1 so if #1 is false, your argument falls apart.

Honestly, if you continue to claim #1, I will assert slippery-slope logical fallacy for that because of your reasoning for it.

Also, please clarify what is a "coined" term. Is that any term that exists or what does that mean? Weren't all terms “coined” at one time in history?

For sake of clarity, a scheme means: to make plans in a devious way or with intent to do something wrong.

I don't know what the definition is.

That is interesting considering how confident you are in what Christianity is.

It is mankind inventing the classification which is undeniable.

Sure, mankind created the term “Christianity” by using our gift of language from God, however, the concept of Christianity originates from God.

So to put it simply and plain and answer everything altogether.

Does the Bible teach and is it written that God predestined those he elected to Christianity?

If so , get the book , chapter and verse. If you can't find it, it had to have come from somewhere. Where did it come from?

Just that plain.

Now , you mentioned about the concept.

What is the concept?

Looks like you already admitted it was not God , not Christ who coined his people to be under the label Christianity.

Many people who call themselves Christian arent true Christians. This is true by tautology, as there are so many different versions of Christianity, and I doubt all can be true as they are mutually exclusive. So in a sense, the label may have caused people to think in terms of label instead of in terms of teachings. If a Christian doesnt read the Bible, is he still follower of Jesus?

@SatanLucy

That's like a conundrum.

How did the person become a christian without reading it in the first place to follow it to follow Jesus?

In order to be a doer of the word according to the scripture, you would had to be a hearer.

The label was invented by someone other than Jesus, obviously. And it caused people to believe in label more than in teachings.

Young Mary invented the term Jesus Christ when she saw the size of Godfrey's donger.

Shortly afterwards she also invented the terms God almighty and for Christ's sake.

Previously she only came in Hebrew.

Christianity has its roots in Judaism. The Romans crucified Jesus and 300 years later exalted him as a God. The Jews were left without a God because they did not believe a God could be killed and therefore rejected Jesus as their God.

Christianity was invented by man.

The word, Christianity, certainly was of human design, but the concept is not. The "ity" suffix, in English syntax, generally applied to an adjective, such as "Christian" implies the state of being described as the original word [in this case, Christian], which has, as you've alleged, several references in the N.T. Close enough in my book to earn your denied creative source, although, you deny yourself in the process by the simple addition of a dash [-] between the root word and the suffix. Are you just playing wordsmith when that is not necessary?

MANGOD was an inevitable human assumptive hypothesis based upon very limited information. Christianity et al were a development thereof.

English syntax came along several hundred years later.

And Christ is a Greek thing, like taramasalata.

Personally I believe Christianity and Islam are made up and appropiation of the Jewish god. But I do believe that Christ and the Holy Spirit are real beings. The political structure in place saw an opportunity to create rules and a power structure around what should have been a more Buddhist type practice.

Jesus was a Jew. He believed he was God. He continued the tradition the Jews were God’s chosen people. Jesus was both circumcised and crucified.

Hi, I don't mean to go so long without responding, but sometimes I don't make time for this or I lose interest. Trying to be on most every day.

Your question to me sounds like it has a redundancy in it. One could reword it as 'God [chose] those he [chose for] Christianity.'

I think you are asking if God has predestined people to be saved.

The Bible does show that God desires for all to be saved and has prepared a place for everyone in Heaven. He does not desire for anyone to go to Hell.

I suppose in a way, one could say that we are all predestined to be saved, but we have the ability to choose otherwise. I don't think predestination is the best term for it though, considering our freewill. Rather like, God has planned for the event that all are saved, and all are welcome in His kingdom.

Bible verses that support this:

1 Timothy 2:3–4 (ESV)

“This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

2 Peter 3:9 (ESV)

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

Ezekiel 18:23 (ESV)

“Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?”

John 14:2–3 (ESV)

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

Now , you mentioned about the concept.

What is the concept?

To understand the concept of something, one must understand the fundamentals of the concept. What are the fundamentals of Christianity? They come directly from the Bible and are intrinsically tied to it.

One of the fundamentals of Christianity is the concept of the salvation we have. Status of being saved comes through baptism (though not required) and having faith in Christ Jesus.

Another fundamental is the nature of God. He is Three in One, which is a truth painfully enumerated in the Athanasian Creed.

Fundamental Three is understanding who Jesus is and His role in the universe, specifically to us.

Fundamental Four is the Bible.

other things too like understanding sin, eternity, the Church.

All of these things were either instituted by God or are of His nature.

prayer, worship, praise--one of these also could be a fundamental

Hmmmmm.

I would say that the Jesus character was probably based upon a real bloke.

And that the Holy Spirit was probably distilled locally, considering there were all those people off their heads hallucinating.

Notwithstanding all the other locally available narcotics.

Abraham was surely off his head, as shamans generally are...It's how they connect with other realms.

Satire maybe...But if you think about it logically, this is a pretty reasonable suggestion
