Bio-male thinks he's a female? Well... no. Biology isn't a matter of choice, boys and girls. This is ultimately a decision for States, and it just may end up that the States which disagree, allowing bio males to compete as females may find populstion shifts of greater proportion than occur due to pure politics. With generational change in parenting, this decision may swing the other way, being a State by State decision, but for now, reason has a level-headed cause settled.

Sorry trannies, but your gender was detrermined at conception. Call it something else, if you must, but gender is binary, or so says science in the cells.* All trillion of them in each of us.

*There are physical anomalies in all of 0.00000007 percent of us, about 3 people per country, worldwide, based on a world population of 8 billion people. And what percentage of that number are serious sports competitors? This amounts to affecting such a small percentage of us, statistically, it is a non-issue. That said, there are those convinced by a headtrip that all the above is an issue. So be it. Not all will agree with the Court decision.

...one merely needs to remove vagina to stop being female.

You are apparently unaware that every cell in the human body defines gender, my friend. It's in the DNA double-helix. Every single bloody cell. So, the only way to change anything is to modify every cell. Good luck with that. That's about 1,000,000,000,000,000 cells, by the way. Gonna take a while... I'll wait.

By the way, the "biologists" you talked to were... what? About 7?

Men and women can have cells with both XX and XY chromosomes, a condition known as chromosomal mosaicism.  This occurs when an individual develops from a single fertilized egg that undergoes a chromosomal error during early cell division, resulting in two or more distinct cell lines within the same body.

  1. Mosaicism: A person may have a mix of cells, such as some with 46,XX and others with 46,XY, or combinations involving other sex chromosome variations.
  2. Intersex Variations: This genetic makeup is often associated with intersex traits, where an individual may have physical characteristics that do not fit typical binary definitions of male or female.
  3. Development: The presence of both cell lines can vary in proportion and distribution throughout the body, affecting gonadal development and external genitalia depending on when the chromosomal error occurred.

SatanLucy is correct.

Sex is genetically intrinsic to every cell in the human body, but gender is a socio-cultural concept and is not defined at the cellular level.  Every nucleated cell contains the individual's full set of chromosomes, including the sex chromosomes (XX for typical females and XY for typical males), which establish a biological "cellular sex" distinct from gender.

While cells do not possess gender, they do have a sexual identity that influences health and disease. Sex chromosome genes are expressed in all tissues—including the brain, immune system, and blood vessels—creating sex-specific biological differences independent of sex hormones.  This cellular sex can impact the severity and presentation of various conditions, such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and cardiovascular disorders, making it a critical variable in medical research and healthcare.

FYI, every human is female at conception. If gender is assigned at conception, then every "male" in existence is trans. Your personal opinion can't argue with biology, ma'am.

In this case, the Supreme Court (people) decided on a definition using biology. Also, fauxlaw is a person proposing a definition. So kinda weird for you to reject his opinion outright after saying opinions are necessary to make definitions.

Same thing. I can use ants to make definitions. It doesn't mean ants made a definition.

Yeah but in this context it's clearly about people using biology to make a definition.

He has right to opinion, and people have right to reject his opinion and call him a crybaby. Same applies to everyone.

Is he a crybaby if he's happy with the SC result? Seems more like he and the SC are the ones rejecting others' opinions and calling them crybabies.

Still arbitrary. I could use "biology" to define woman as an ant or a cat. It doesnt matter what you use to make a definition.

The method does matter insofar as it affects the definition you come up with. And if you want to discuss [x], then you need definitions based on [x], whether that's biology or something else.

And honestly

Ok ChatGPT

crying about some tiny part of population calling themselves women and making irrelevant Supreme Cort decisions which wont even be accepted by trans people anyway is like punching the air and claiming you are winning

They're the judicial branch. It's their job to rule on cases. Also, this ruling was about state laws on sports, not about people calling themselves women, so it has an effect whether or not trans people accept it. I think it would make more sense for you to be criticizing the legislative branch than the judicial branch on this.

To the first three of you:

Definitionm the OED [1474, before American and European "scientists" decided to go rogue with air definition by way of social pressure] and the US Medical Library:

Biological sex and gender are distinct. Biological sex is determined by the 23rd pair of chromosomes, commonly known as the sex chromosomes.

The chromosomal differences break down as follows:

Pair 23: The sex chromosomes, Washington DC X and Y.

Females: Typically have two X chromosomes (XX).

Males: Typically have one X and one Y chromosome (XY). [12]

The egg from the biological mother always provides an X chromosome.

The sperm from the biological father can carry either an X or a Y chromosome.

If an X-carrying sperm fertilizes the egg, the baby develops as female (XX).

If a Y-carrying sperm fertilizes the egg, the baby develops as male (XY).

The Y chromosome acts as the genetic trigger for male development, primarily through the SRY gene, which directs the fetus to develop

Gender is determined at conception, as I originally said, by the union of male and female gametes [from the male sperm and female ovum, which are living creatures, themselves, making life continuous generation to generation], such as has occurred from Adam & Eve to the present day, and as far into the future as human life on Earth endures.

Savant, thank you for your commentary.

Gender is determined at conception,

The most correct thing you could say (which is still wrong given intersex conditions) is that *sex* (not gender) is determined at conception. Your summary from your source states sex and gender are distinct. The modern definition of gender from the OED states:

Psychology and Sociology (originally U.S.). The state of being male or female as expressed by social or cultural distinctions and differences, rather than biological ones; the collective attributes or traits associated with a particular sex, or determined as a result of one's sex. Also: a (male or female) group characterized in this way.

Even choosing biology to make definition is arbitrary.

Biology is irrelevant to physical sports?

Buddy, you could make 1000 courts do 1000 decisions on trans issues, and none of those will ever be accepted by trans people.

The job of the court is to interpret the law, not to convince trans people or anyone else.

Definitions are always arbitrary

I mean they have to decide on cases somehow. Picking an appropriate definition kind of matters.

it's irrelevant to what I should accept

If you don't care about court rulings, then sure. I don't think anyone implied this ruling was about what your personal opinions have to be.
