I have a problem with Vader, REF, and Mikal accepting the offer. It screamed recruitment imo. The offer was too good to be true. I find it hard to believe they didn’t think their affiliation could change.

Going to log off for now but I have some thoughts about some of the info. I think there is a clear distinction between the two questions asked. One direction recruitment and one that was a hidden ability that we have 0 idea what it was for. 50% said yes and 50% said no but each to different questions that they were asked.

I am actually a bit more sus of Pie this DP because of this bold “denial” claim. Realistically, there is no reason to deny a recruitment unless you know there isn’t going to be a NK in the night, and we had no way of guaranteeing that.

Like I said, most everyone either asked if it involved recruitment or they didn’t mind being recruited, which both implies recruitment. Especially if the game started 7-1 with a recruitment, balance wise it’s obvious there probably won’t be an NK

Shit if I got offered to be recruited, and it would’ve AT THE MINIMUM by a 5v2 game, that’s just 2 DP’s to live on. Saying it’s scummy to deny that is IMO scummy to suggest because if you are solely thinking about winning a game, I think the optimal play is to accept. Not even to mention that THE ACTION failed.

Correct. It stated the name of my character and a description of my character but did not give me a justification for why I am an emissary or why I know what I know

I agree with this. I dislike Kohai rn pretty heavily. He’s practically useless to us right now having revealed anything.

So it’s been hinted that Pie visited you, the way he asked you for results + your response.

In addendum, Vader says he visited you, and says he may have prevented an NK as well.

I think you need to tell us what’s going on here. If there’s potential town confirmation, it’s easier to sort out with discussion. The alternative is to leave us to speculate the 5 Ws and that just leaves Pandora’s box open.

Another thing… I have a theory that mafia may have learned my role the second my character was outed, as part of the anticlaim.

I've been trawling through the last DP and this one looking for shifts in reads, as that's usually the biggest sign of a recruit, and can even point to the recruiter. I've developed a bit of theory: Casey/Mikal was the recruiter. They recruited Kohai.

The main reason for this is that Kohai completely dropped their scum read from one DP to another, and actually started defending them, in ways that I think make little to no sense.

For example:

I’m fairly confident Mikal is not Kyubey. The only way it would possibly work would be if there were two mafia members and the other one submitted it on his behalf.

Mikal is not the recruiter. I was targeted with the recruitment before Mikal subbed in.

While this might make sense at first as his justification, why did he not change this read once it was revealed that everyone was targeted? Instead, he seems to be painstakingly trying to cobble together a POE without his top scumread from DP1 in it. This to me screams contrived analysis.

Casey has been MIA and so I want to look elsewhere as this contract was before casey returned.

This was the original excuse for dropping the scum read, but he's held on to this even when it was revealed that the recruitment offer was universal and went out early in the NP. Thoth started looking for a replacement later on in the NP, I think this makes more sense as the recruiter would need to do whatever they did to decide which offers 'went through' before the NP ended. Maybe ranked choice like Pie said, in which case it could have been done ahead of time by Casey, or manually picking an 'acceptee'. Furthermore, if it is Mikal this seems like a 100% in-character way for him to fudge things up as he loves angleshooting, and I can see him coaching Kohai to say this.

Combine this with the complete 180 on NO CHARACTER CLAIMS (why I haven't claimed, I find this suspicious - if he has changed alignment, he may be intentionally pushing anti-town activity now that he's switched sides) based on a role that has no justification and the whole thing just looks shadier and shadier.

Did you not read what I said? It is impossible for Casey / Mikal to be the recruiter because I got the message offering to be recruited while Casey was AWOL. This proves that Casey / Mikal is NOT the recruiter. That said, I do not have a solid read on that slot as they are a possible recruited.

You all can verify this. What time did you get the message and compare it to the time Thoth posted the announcement in the #mafia channel requesting a replacement in the discord? I know this is very OGI but the point remains that Mikal cannot be the recruiter

We were ALL recruited. There was no need for Casey to decide anything at the beginning of the DP if the recruitment is universal. The decision was clearly made later on, as I accepted but it still failed and I got the failure message much later in the NP.
