It was mod confirmed that a hidden ability could have been used last night, but was not. This aligns with vader's claim.

The message I received from Thoth says that I could have unlocked a hidden ability if I'd accepted the contract. I read that message a few times. Mentioning that doesn't make me townread him.

Everyone needs to claim today

Like I said, if enough people want it, I'll give it. I don't think it's a given that everyone should claim, though, particularly since we've already been told that scum have access to fake-claims.

I wasn't even the first one to mention it, but fine, guess fuck me for clarifying that I'd considered this as a plausible role for a scum character I was pretty sure was in this game.

I also got the contract offer.

I had thought Kyubey was recruiter based on some Wiki reading, plus the fact that this was an 8-player setup (yes 2v6 with loaded town power was possible, but town could still lose in 2 DPs so I thought it unlikely).

But when I got the offer, the fact that I could reject it made me no longer think it was a recruitment; I theorized a custom role where town gets granted more power but scum gets a bonus for killing the townies who accept, like how Kyubey creates the magical girls to create more despair when they become witches (dead, in my thoughts).

Didn’t think the trade off was worth it so I declined.

Anyway, looks like I was wrong.

So it looks almost everyone was targeted, which is interesting

It also seems like there are 2 forms of contracts being offered. I’m curious about how people got 2 different items but seemingly everyone got something. Weird

Also, I asked if the contract went through, would my original NP action been voided. Thoth replied to this yes, but since it failed, I got my original ability. Which maybe would be the reason there isn’t a NK but I don’t want to jump to that conclusion just yet

Not for a NK. But last night I did target someone but I want to wait to hear a claim from this person before I go ahead and shout my action I took

I am very tapped on time but agreed to play just to try and get mafia moving again. I got targeted by the same offer. I accepted but did not through as well.

It’s definitely odd for sure. But Wryly is basically confirmed town as she is claiming she is immune + behavior. I think you’re behaviorally town as well. Mharman should be town as well.

I have a problem with Vader, REF, and Mikal accepting the offer. It screamed recruitment imo. The offer was too good to be true. I find it hard to believe they didn’t think their affiliation could change.

How on earth is this a slip? The whole post is just 'I wanted to be scum but couldn't be'. I see no point lying about it, especially since the fact that it failed means that there's more going on here, and since I'm stuck as town we need to figure out how this mechanic works.

It was not given to me as a recruitment, it was given to me as a hidden power. Even then, I didn’t even think it was scummy from my perspective until seeing Kohai recruitment. I accepted it because if I denied it and somehow I was the only person who got it, thats immediate FOS. You literally did the same thing to Luna in one game… the mechanic operated in a similar way

I agree with the latter. I'd like to know why you're still town-locking Vader. Did the message you received from Thoth not say anything about hidden abilities?

I think you mean at least one person was recruited, since we have two people who claim to have accepted it and not been recruited.

Kohai may be implying that the message he received was different from the one I've seen that mentioned hidden abilities. I assume you got the same message as I did given your mention of hidden abilities. Wryly says she was unrecruitable, so she must have received a distinct message as well.
