Thats a ever present risk in all mafia games. Kohai could be mafia, or a relatively weak role. Town has blundered harder before and still won. At the end of the day mafia is a game about behavior and when town fucks up behavior, they usually lose.

That is IF there is a doctor or watcher.

And also generously assuming scum can’t get past those roles.

I'm willing to take that risk. I was on the fence, but now I am starting to regret doubting Pie. Sucks that you get SoP pressured but not my problem.

This is a double edged sword strategy honestly. I don't even care about being a dick to him, but he's early claimed as town power roles also before which has hurt town in the past. I don't think just getting a character claim from him will help us a ton either if scum know the theme split.

I am all for trial by fire logic, this type of thing has worked in the past, im just not 100% sure that its the right move in this scenario with scum knowing the theme split, and kohai being likely to just end up being pressured into claiming his role and him being a power role or something fucking us over majorly. If it was a case where he was like only bad at fake claiming as scum but had an excellent town game though pie might be cooking with this. Idk I will think about it as I drive to work. And this is mafia! You gotta be a dick sometimes to make shit happen. Being nice is for the mafia compliment box :)

If scum aren’t given fake claims, then I don’t see a reason not to. If he’s a town PR, we hope there’s other roles that could negate a kill on him. At the worst, he’s eliminated from POE and we can treat his views with more weight. If he’s scum, he likely messes up and gets lynched.

Also I don’t think David resists this hard claiming as scum after what jus happened

It is, but we just have to hope that if he is a PR, town have roles to protect him. Usually there are protective roles or watchers or something like that. It’s pretty worth it imo
