I’d actually rather reverse the question and say that Alyssa’s defense of me came off as desperate and reachy. I doubt she would have said that I might have heard from Mikal that Mestari commanded respect if I were actually her scummate and heard it from her in scum chat. There was zero reason for her to suggest another explanation after I said point-blank why I had mixed up Helz and Mestari. It makes me wonder if she wanted to pocket me by being the good cop among the bad cops and/or shift attention away from me in hopes of later moving it to her mislynch target.

Sorry for your struggles. Sounds like we are in the same boat. We can unpack this later out of game if you would like but I appreciate that you have an associated issue. I can unpack how mine has effected me but I am not sure how productive that is to do in the game thread unless you feel my writing style is Alignment Indictive. I do have some need to be transparent to you as a player viewing you as confirmed town.

If I correctly understand how guild recruitment works, this could give an interesting game-theoretic solution: If both guilds don't recruit anyone from now on, they will have the same number of members and should all win together. I will ask Mikal whether or not a tie in members lets the guild leader win.

Why do you think Mestari would be a fear kill target? Have you played with him before?

You are poking my bias as there is more about Alyssa than I have voiced yet but I will give you credit with me opening the door to a hard OMGUS argument you instead focused on perceived pocket attempt. Either high level play as scum here or very genuine town indicator. I think you are more likely town until I understand your range as a player.

Mestari isn't dumb. He is actually imo one of the best we've seen on DDO. I hate saying that because I don't want to boost his ego. He is a bit of an asshole, but that is neither here nor there.

I specifically think that the guild leaders should out who they have already recruited and who they will recruit at night so that we can maximize the number of recruited players for the night where we agree to not recruit at all and use all of our actions at the same time. Wasting recruits by targeting the same people means less roles get activated on the big night.

That would involve the people that are themselves saying so + it’s possible scum could be themselves and recruited

I am very critical of this specifically. One of the things I have not directly called out about them but there is MASSIVE benefit for scum to know who was recruited and has activated abilities. Its between poor town play and absolute opportunistic scum play to pressure wylted for their recruitments. We should lock down public knowledge of these factors until we are in the mid/late game with a blatant cost/benefit evaluation of such knowledge being public.

We gain information from town PRs, most likely. We also gain info from who tried to recruit whom

How do you know those roles even exist? Most town roles aren't usable yet anyway. 

I don’t, but scum don’t know either. And usually there are protective roles and watcher is common as well.

I didn't. I think a VTNL today is fine, I just don't think we should do it repeatedly like Mestari suggested

If I were in Alyssa's shoes when she defended me, I probably would have said something like, "Yeah, that explanation sounds stupid, but people make mistakes [and if I knew my reputation, I'd add something like, "It's Thoth, he gets near-lynch-experiences from things like this all the time]." I don't know Alyssa well enough to say that she wouldn't have suggested an alternative explanation if she were my scummate or town legitimately defending me.
