The stalling of the Thoth wagon becomes odd if he's town, unless mafia is among the inactives. I think the slightly active players have had enough chance to join the wagon by now.

There's a certain subset of players from which at least one is mafia, because of the way Mikal designed the game. Lunatic is town, Wylted is town, and I'm town. That leaves Alyssa, Max, and maybe Supa or Skep (is skep in this game?), but it's less likely the last 2 are in that pile.

so ill start by i am caught up only kinda? i hope u can understand that 700 posts is.. a lot. i was really trying til bout 400 posts in or so but the last 2-300 of them ive honestly just kind of skimmed. that said i have some thoughts about the game and things ive picked up

ill start with the main topic of discussion which is thoth. i dont like his posts. i kind of get why people are scum reading his thing about mestari being a fear kill, but i also want to believe that he just had a brain fart or something like he said. that is understandable from a town perspective. most of my hesitation on thoth comes from his response to the pressure hes getting. like him being dodgy about his claim for a while doesn't seem like something he would do as town, ive played a few games with him but not a lot. he also was just missing for a lot of last night, and then when he got on to respond to stuff said he was about to go to bed. so if he wasn't on before what was he doing?? lurking? trying to come up with a claim or sumthin? i dont really like that he was making going to sleep an excuse when he should have been on before that if he was technically already awake. but thats kind of making assumptions about his personal life, maybe he was busy or something idk.

to add to thoth tho his activity feels different from his activity in other games ive seen him as town. he seems a bit more active, in the few games i played with him he posted a bit more sporadically and wouldn't show up for long periods of time, this game he just feels active but like his activity doesnt feel particularly helpful, like it seems like his posts are more of a frantic or desperate move to get pressure off him but he doesn't have a solid lean outside of that. several people asked him who we should pursue instead of him and what his reads are and then he just has a bunch of null or commonly shared reads and wants to "push: the inactives". its a very unoriginal stance that doesn't really give me an idea that he is town trying to look for scum. his whole activity and contribution is there to just exist and survive, like u would do if you were mafia. idk i am not sold he is scum or anything but he is a strong read for me

my next scum read would be alyssa. i kno, not original at all here, but its not even for the reason of them being linked by thoths "slip" with mestari, its for the reason of her giving thoth excuses for why he would have messed up his claim. there doesnt seem to be a lot of amazing reasons to town read thoth, but her prepping excuses for him for some reason kind of makes no sense 2 me. her general activity is interesting as well, i am not picking up the scum hunting vibe from her either, more just posting to post. she asked some questions to helz that i wasnt sure where she was going with them. but what was interesting about that exchange is she seemed to start the pressure against him and somehow that pressure has turned on her to where shes now on the backfoot. which makes me question if it was a real read or contrived.

whiteflame has felt pretty normal to me how he plays usually. i dont have any bad feelings for him but his play seems to be very similar no matter what affiliation he is. i like his theme analysis about thoths character claim, i dont know much about the theme but i did at least enough research to verify the thing about thoths character not fitting in with guild mechanics being a thing. if thoth is scum, this will have been a good catch for whiteflame and probably earns him some town points.

pie seems more or less his usual self. i like that he backed off his mestari read, i think i would have scum read him if he stayed stubborn on it. when he was scum in the asian wife game we played he tunneled me so hard and never let up, and he was scum there. he seemed to give up the ghost on mestari when it seemed likely that it wasn't going anywhere and he seemed to take players advice about him who knew and played with him.

helz seems pretty town, he is putting a high amount of effort into his posts, and while i think turning down the recruitment was an odd choice, i agree that it makes no sense for him to do that as scum. as scum you would want the most information possible and having a direct line of communication to a town confirmed player would be invaluable. i dont see scum passing that up for wifom purposes. his reads seem legit as well.

magic has been posting a lot of content and i like that he seems like he is feeling a bit over whelmed by the game and not in a good head space. let me clarify i dont like that for him on a personal level, i feel bad for him and resonate with him on that, but as far as the post itself it says a lot about him and reads as genuine. i think he wants to figure out and solve the game and he probably feels as overwhelmed as i do about all the players and chaos going on rn. he has been very active and interested in the game and i find myself agreeing with many of his lines of thinkin

casey is asking questions, like alot. this is usually a town tell in my experience, town question everything and want to know the motives behind peoples thoughts and actions, and casey has been doing that a lot. she doesnt seem to have a ton of time to play but i like that she is maximizing use out of what little time she does actually have

wryly reeks badly of town and is probaly my biggest town read. ill admit wryly is my weakness tho and i tend to town read her every time we play together, and i might be bias because i just like her a lot and her posts make me laugh. but putting bias aside she seems like she is town here, she is advising caution at every corner, lecturing people for making quick decisions, and or getting on people she thinks are tunneling. her caring so much about her loss in the last game she plated is also kind of evidence of her being town because her attempts to not quick mislynch are kind of a polar opposite to her strategy of when she hammered kohai and made it look like an accident. she is like trying to do the opposite this game and make sure something like that doesnt happen. i like her open mindedness about thoth and being wary of a mislynch and considering all options, and not just biting into the same narrative everyone else is 2.

Rex seems okay as well, hes more or less echoed the scum reads everyone else has on alyssa and thoth, i kind of town read his not checking his role pm tho becuase he did the same thing in the pitt mafia, where he didnt read his role pm and when he did he just skimmed it and thought he was a doctor, and ended up getting lynched because of it. like if he was scum here he surely would have learned his lesson and been paying extra attention to his discord right? ig it could be a ploy and realistaclly he proly is just null but i want to town read that for some reason

kohai is a wierd one for me, i dont like how he was trying to give thoth a pass for knowing about characters being players, but he gets a little cred for being first to claim. i dont think he would be able to come up with a good claim that fast because in the maga mafia he flopped pretty hard on his claim. but i am willing to consider he has a good team mate who just fed him an early claim to get us to use that logic to confirm him 2. with so many players its very likely he just rolled a good scum partner.

vader, shining, havent posted enough or me to form a solid read on them, and airmax is just entirely missing. i think we need to get some activity out of them.

luna/wylted are town so not worth talking about.

i wil try to be more active from this point forward, and am sorry for my poor contribution, this game is a lil too fast paced for me and believe it or not i have a life outside this site, so its hard to read hundreds of posts a day and read everything and i dont want to pretend to be caught up, i want to actually feel like im contributing something to the game. i dont know if i am there yet, but i will put some more work into being caught up from now on to avoid that feeling.

At the risk of one more post that's probably never going to become relevant: If Helz is scum, the only reason I can imagine why he insisted that we post reads is because we were not giving him enough of a challenge. If he flips scum, that probably means that town has been preparing to eat itself and everyone who has been wagoned so far is innocent.

Because there's more value to activating as many abilities as possible than hiding who has them. As we recruit more it becomes near certainly that mafia is in both guilds. Trying to hide recruits from the mafia assumes we only ever recruit town and risks both guilds recruiting the same player, activating less roles.

I don't like that I'm being scumread in #814 and I don't agree with all the points against me, but it's a good enough reads list that I can't OMGUS it.

Point taken about your guild leader considerations, but if neither you or wylted are inclined to verify his claim (understandable, given you'd essentially be handing over the decision of recruit to him), we're back to square one on him.

I think square one is a baseline good reason to lynch him, so not a bad thing.

just such a randomly started wagon that I think opportunism (or bad aggro attempt in Pie's case) is a factor in the formation of that wagon. I have reasons to townread Mestari outside of the random wagon started on him, and I think some scum is very likely on this wagon

I said earlier that one of my abilities is potentially kinda-sorta-confirmable, or, if it isn't now, then it could be depending on how things play out. Let's say that I claimed information about your guild that I couldn't have known unless I knew it from an ability or shared scum chat with your recruit. If I did, do you trust your recruits enough that you would see this as confirming me, or would you suspect a mole? Just a yes/no question.

Pie and Kohai are obviously pitted against each other here. It seems early for a distancing play, but with fake claims a distance play isn't so bad... but then Kohai just claimed himself. think it's more likely Kohai and Pie are unpaired off that.
