I said earlier that one of my abilities is potentially kinda-sorta-confirmable, or, if it isn't now, then it could be depending on how things play out. Let's say that I claimed information about your guild that I couldn't have known unless I knew it from an ability or shared scum chat with your recruit. If I did, do you trust your recruits enough that you would see this as confirming me, or would you suspect a mole? Just a yes/no question.

So independent of me finishing myself off and all that as I try to look good for the town, you are one of my 3 hard town pegs. Who do you feel I should be looking at?

tl;dr it accomplishes the same thing as just lynching him. If we succesfully recruit him we find out he is scum. If that happens whatever person recruited him is an automatic disadvantage against the other guild, since we need to be the biggest faction AND kill scum to win. If we need to get a lynch anyway, it just makes more sense for that person to be thoth. It gives us a lot of information from associative tells and will heavily implicate alyssa if he's scum, and if hes town its not the end of the world, its not like a mislynch dp1 is extremely uncommon. There is at least a lot of support both behavioral and mechanic going into thoths lynch, its not like we are doing it blindly.

The stalling of the Thoth wagon becomes odd if he's town, unless mafia is among the inactives. I think the slightly active players have had enough chance to join the wagon by now.

I don't think getting thoth lynched will be an actual issue, I just don't think people are as eager to end the day phase as you are. Many people myself included are really hoping to get an activity surge from inactive players before moving on.

I know I'm not always a paragon of activity, especially at posting reads, but it baffles me why people sign up for a game and then don't participate, at least if they're clearly not too busy in real life to check on the thread.

I don't think it improves our chances of catching mafia for me to out the recruit and I don't think lunatic should out any of his either tbh.

Maybe after a few DPs when it's likely that we both fucked up somewhere and recruited scum

I imagine it is because mikal is a great salesman. I can't get max to do anything, even download a video game to play with me. But I kind of take one "no" for an answer and move on. Mike will beg and spam post til they sign up and he somehow knows how to work max over lol. I see him convince max to do shit all the time lol. As far as the other inactives, they kind of are just always inactive so its nothing new.

I think I've been passably active this game, though not with as much analysis as I should expect from myself, but there have been other games where I've been close to incommunicado. Barry was a severe example.

Lol the person you are referring to I felt town at the start but I dunno. I know my vote was on him there. But then KOhais actions legitimately felt scummy and then Mestari moved more to the null category at some point. It comes down to how much I trust my read that Kohai is scum. The more confident I think that Kohai is scum the more likely I think Mestari is town.

Let's pretend for a sec that you didn't recruit mestari. Do you trust the person in your mason thread right now is town or is it still up in the air?
