kohai can u confirm if your role is able to be used without recruitment since your the only person who claimed a non solo level character

So realistically, Luna and Wylted are the only ones who get a pass for this because they're effectively mod confirmed town. I'm extremely motivated now to push a Kohai wagon based off of the "Look at me I'm so townie" behavior of jumping up and down trying to claim credit for a Thoth wagon that was happening regardless of anyone's involvement followed by a really contrived jump onto this bandwagon.

Yes, the OP does reflect that such mechanics can exist. The issue people have is not about if they can or can not exist but rather you voicing diametrically opposed statements on if such a mechanic exists in your role which is a weird thing to get confused on. I would not write that off if I were in your shoes.

Heavily contest that I ever claimed that. The post that Luna points to to say that I did is such a hilarious way to misconstrue my own words that if he wasn't mod confirmed town I'd be OMGUS pushing him instead of Kohai.

I've made multiple allusions to say that I don't need to be recruited for my role to work. No where in the post that Luna quotes do I make the claim that I can only motivate people after I've been recruited, if anything I've explicitly said the opposite. The closest Luna's argument gets to it being a 'slip' is the Popular claim, but even that's such a monumental reach. My soft claim made two claims - I had two roles that I referenced with those claims. Neither of them rely on me being recruited to function (as we've already proven with the Popular claim happening).

This is probably by far the dumbest reason I've ever died in a game of Mafia, but even if people come to their senses, I'm just going to get dragged through the rest of the game as a free wagon for scum to claim whenever they want to. Better to just get it over with now so y'all can move on. My wagon will be super interesting to look at tomorrow.

I am just saying that the issue is not if its possible or not in the game to use abilities without guilds and more that people are looking at a direct conflict in your statements. And that can be looked up easily enough.

why would she claim the first part of the role, of being immune to one lynch? if she was scum it's probably? more likely she just, doesn't claim that part, get "lynched", then scramble for players to find anohter majority

I have said a bit on that already. There is more thoughts I have that I am avoiding saying as I watch what people say and do. To be blunt I do not want to dog pile Alyssa and I do not want to defend them.

With you in particular I am interested in hearing your fresh take diving into the game on some reads on players. Outside of the one popular issue I keep trying to open up the chat to discussing other players and views. What are yours? Surly with a thousand post D1 there is something that caught your attention on somebody.

The most revealing thing about this whole thing is Alyssa's self vote. Town should never do that. Frustrated scum do that. Alyssa is experienced to know that you fight tooth and nail as town, otherwise it's a game throwing tantrum. It's also telling that on her entry into the day phase she immediately claimed expecting heavy FOS based on suspicions from last day phase. She didn't wait to feel out the room or see if people were going to continue pressure from last day phase. This indicates she went into the night phase knowing thoth's flip wouldn't go well for her and prepared for the day phase with that in mind. Granted I know it's possible for town to panic like this, I would expect this behavior from certain players, but not experiences ones like alyssa. I know if Pie is in this situation he fights it tooth and nail if he's town and lays out a case for him being town and claims only when it seems thats the only route. Maybe I am wrong here, or overestimating what I think what a town Alyssa would do here. But I don't think so.

i wasnt! all i said was that it is usually a role we see as town and that its no likely the mod would do the same thing twice, but that was before i saw the part about the slip. i just want to make sure we are checking every box and not makin 2 quick a decision is all.

my scum read right now is kohai. for one i do not like that he keeps trying to beg for town cred from the vote on thoth even tho he had the weakest reasons for it. and i dont like that he claimed himself immediately because given the mod openly said people are themselves in this game it makes it a likely fake claim option. we have good reason to think thoth used a fake claim already so it makes this claim seem more sketch ya know? also his reasoning for pie seems kind of weak but he keeps goin after it
