Dunno what this means. Why is it I only get highly suspected at the start of the game when I’m Town?
this seems like a bit of an over react to what was probably a joke vote

Are exotic atoms or chemical elements possible? Shit like muonic hydrogen? Actually, are isotopes possible? Or is everyone just a chemical element with no referende to isotopes?

Again, you weren’t there for for last game, where we lynched Magoroth on the basis of him being less active as scum. And I did do the MAGA Mafia ISO on Magoroth. I’m not seeing any damning similarities.
i thot it was more we just got lucky after lynching an inactive, didnt think there was that much that went into it

why is helz scummy
I agree with the first half of this. I think Thoth's claim reads as towny. It sticks out as risky to me, the sort of thing scum would generally be very reluctant to YOLO on DP1. I disagree with the second half; it's very possible that the role is actually negative utility for the town, and if he waited until he actually found out what his role was to reveal it, it would end up looking WAY worse for him. Again, see Atypical Mafia

Okay so I asked Pie a bunch of questions.
Everyone knows their alignment.
Kohai is 100% confirmed Town.
It is revealed whether someone was guilty or innocent right when they get lynched.
MyLo/LyLo are not revealed.
And here I thought people would have liked this one. I can play unhinged open town while just disregarding something thats super vague speculation to begin with at the downside of dealing with whatever awful meta of "Tell us this exact thing or die" that blew up in the towns face before (but not for a challenge)
tbf we dont all agree with that, and i have been victim to that many times myself and am also kind of sick of it

This isn't effective scum hunting. Having a gut read on someone being scummy is fine, but what are you doing with it? Put pressure on them, ask them questions, make 'em squirm.
its page 2, u expecting him to have more than a gut read that early? thats a bit 2 high an expectatiun

I am actually noticing a lot of similarities to debate craft mafia mago doing an ISO here. The posting style, short form answers, not many strong stances, etc.
Do an Iso of Ruyi zhuan. Tons of bigger posts, paragraphs, spacing, passionate reads, more votes etc. Iso him from the pitt same thing.
Ruyi Zhuan dp1: Mago votes shining, to wryly, to thoth, to wryly again, to shining again, to iLikePie5, to Thoth again, to Mikal, to Lunatic. A total of nine vote changes dp1.
The pitt dp1: Mago switched his vote from Vader, to Alyssa, to Wylted, to Thoth, to Rex, back to wylted, to shining, to alyssa again, to shining, back to rex. He changed his vote 10 times the whole day phase 1 of the pitt.
Lets look at his scum games.
Debatecraft mafia DP2: He slept through all of dp1 which ended very fast so we can just count this as dp1. He votes a total of two times, between pie and rex.
MAGA mafia Dp1: Total of three votes betweem whiteflame, pie and rex.
We wont count Frieren against him because he was juts inactive and unavailable. I can also give some small grace on MAGA mafia since it seemed similar but not nearly as bad. Either way I am noticing a pattern here. Mago seems to be more of a hyper poster, and voter as town, and is constantly paranoid and shifting his votes. He seems far more conservative with his votes as scum.
I am not suggesting he is outright scum yet, and I realize we are still early in the day phase, but its not rubbing me right that his only vote so far has been an RVS vote on magic, and he hasn't really tried a whole lot of scum hunting.
now that i think of it you kind of make a good point with this. now im a bit suspicius of mago

I'll try to post my thoughts before I sleep. Sympathy to Kohai and his autism, I relate. Magoroth isn't scummy to me, but I been wrong before. I remember Magoroth having a, and no offense meant, difficult personality. So far, its hard to place anyone in a hard town/scum pile besides Kohai for obvious reasons. I also don't fully understand why Mikal is getting shit for the whole Kohai IC thing. IDK. Kohai popping it right away might not be the very best ideal thing to do, but its whatever. We have a conf town, whats not to love?
ya i too think its a good thing

More than just activity, I think it really boils down to you forming a firm direction. I’ve found it pretty easy to tell when you are town after my first run in with you in ruyi zhuan where I was completely alien to your playstyle. Since then you seem to have stuck to certain behaviors as town that I am just not noticing yet this game. I’m all for change up in playstyle and not throwing as much shade around etc, but it still doesn’t help my problem of me feeling like town mago is generally a bit more invested and seems to be trying to solve people in general. Even if you aren’t switching votes like crazy, having no hard stances is quite a change from your town play style. I feel like you would be a bit more paranoid as town, and even your reads on magic Rex and Mikal seem largely echoed reads from other players like myself. I never really thought of you as the type that would band wagon, more of the type that would challenge anyone he scum read regardless of their status or prowess. Anyways I am interested to see how your gameplay progresses I am just a bit hesitant about you for now, but I recognize it’s early in the game so I won’t push this too heavily for now. And I am a bit locked in on Rex atm. If Rex does end up being scum I suppose you could earn a bit of town cred here.
this is a good post. i think i want to pressure mago.
VTL: Magoroth
anyways i think im caught up. i got work but ill be around l8er
I would like an actual explanation from @Banana as to why she thinks I’m suspicious. The point that she raises that I’m overreacting over being scumread is strange, considering she has admitted it herself that she dislikes being scumread and almost didn’t sign up for the previous game out of a fear of being mislynched by pie. So what gives? If anything, she should be seeing my perspective here.
As an aside, I rather liked Rex’s last response and I thought hes defending himself rather well; he’s not responding to his accusers’ arguments necessarily; but he is aggressive and voluntary, which is a towntell.
I’m gonna be a bit of a dick here and say that the guide Helz wrote says that the natural reaction to being scumread is to suspect the other person as scum; scum may townread someone who scumreads them. Rex did not do this
I'm catching up on some work this morning, but I'll be active on here in the afternoon.
what if you’re about to lose? something…

Each character is just the name of an element

Correct. Just the name of the Element is your character. It will be Pieonium, not Pieonium-1234

I heard they use that in atomic clocks that measure how long you take to get your night actions in

Indeed.
I will gamepost some and give reads later today. No ETA because I always end up doubling or tripling those

Again, I would like to float that everyone soft whether their justifications are airtight or loosey-goosey. If everyone has solid justifications, it could help me guess what my hidden ability is.
I don’t see how this could help scum. If you think it could, please explain why rather than scumreading me for the float.

What exactly have you found out regarding this ability? Can you say what you asked Pie?
VTL: RexFavilla
Everything you say just makes me scumread you more. I've never seen someone get so defensive off of an RVS votes a few pages into DP1. Tbh it was initially just a reaction test (have to do something to get the DP moving) and you're failing hard.
Also, lol at the idea that scumreading Kohai is AI because he decided to pop his Innocent Child as soon as two people voted. Completely retarded.
For Kohai I would have done it slightly differently. Maybe acted super scummy and drawn attention to get peoples reactions then pop the IC for the clear so RVS is broken in a solid way and such. But really its not an awful thing. Regardless of our D1 elimination flip we have something solid to pivot actions around N1 and we have a confirmed town to triangulate reads on which mitigates scums ability to control the elimination.
As for you the feeling is mutual that the more you post the more I scum read you. I am not sure where I have been defensive at all. Im pretty comfortable under pressure in general and really have not felt a bit of pressure so far this game. Me pushing you is simply because you have done the most scummy thing I have seen so far this game even if it is just an early D1 read.
Had you said something like "Well I was overstating my read in an attempt to break RVS and its an early D1 read" that would have made total sense from a towny mindset. But you did not just refuse to offer reasoning on either myself or the now host confirmed IC you doubled down and declared it was scummy for me to even ask for that reasoning. And now you are painting my poke at you as defensive on my part. I feel if anything its more aggressive and not in an "OMGUS" reaction kinda way but in a clearly thought out question and request for you to get some attention and pressure.
Feel free to ask me anything though. Im catching up on the thread
Magoroth wrote:

I can say everything that I know from my role PM and answers from Pie, and you can probably find anything you wanted to know in my ISO.

I do want to emphasize that I am 90% sure I don’t have an active ability because Pie answered that I would not choose my targets if I did, and that really seems like putting in a role PM. Your mileage may vary.

So to unpack that from memory without looking back at it- Counter OMGUS is generally a tell by dynamics of the game (specifically in games where there is no multi-ball or neutral) because scum has a full game solve. They know the person pushing them is town and they operate from that perspective town reading the individual scum reading them. I believe its an objective tell and I agree- Rex did not do this.
The major thing I got reading back through my first game here was that wolves shaded with vague reasoning. When I was on the chopping block and hard pushing them to get specific they refused and stayed vague. This bias plays into my head here as far as site meta and I do recognize it as such but I do still think Rex behavior seems scummy. Their pushes on me seem like more an effort to paint than an effort to read. (And yes, Its early D1 and I have zero issue with that as an "I want to break RVS" kina play but that is not what they are voicing.) They are instead dancing around the subject and excusing the behavior as they deflect blame and paint more. Im shifting to focus on making some consolidated post of my thoughts but thats about where my head is at on them.
If your going to go off my thoughts on that guide the other one that is in my head is Mag1cmans townread of you. I felt dumb because I somehow got the wires crossed in my head and initially thought it was a scum read but I do recognize the potential of the same dynamic. Again- If wolves have a total game solve they know everyones alignment. In such a world 'Handing out town credit too easy' becomes a problem. Psychologically it takes less evidence to confirm an existing stance than it does to establish a new one (and even more to change an existing one.) This pattern can and is often reflected in the progression of individuals reads with scum assigning town credit too easily.
While I have not circled back to that yet it is something on my mind but those would probably be the two real positions I have taken so far this game and you can trace both back to that guide if thats how you want to read my play.
