I'm not caught up yet, but something I noticed while reading: who first suggested that the scum team picked the fake mechanic from a list? The OP doesn't say that. Sounds like a scumslip to me.

This game will be an open mechanical set up, meaning I will openly tell you all the mechanics of the game. There is however one catch: One of these mechanics, and only one, is a lie fed by the mafia team

It doesn't say that the scum team chose them from a list. The wording makes it sound like the scum team could have, and likely did, write the fake mechanic themselves. I'm not sure yet who first said that the Mafia team picked it from a list, but Helz suggested so in #396.

I've seen this modifier used multiple times but never at a moda discretion. It gives you the ability to say oops I missed a post and have a justification if you dont die.

He is claiming to not just be vanilla but with a posting restriction that could get him killed. I kinda call bullshit but I do not know if this is normal here. Its taking a role who's only real value is using their voice in chat and insulating TPR's from the night kill and nerfing the major thing they have screwing with how they talk.

Is anyone else getting the feeling that this is out of place?

I am not going to pretend I dont have an ogi thing that he confirmed himself. The him and thoth both complaining to luna bothers me and its making me look at the stuff hes saying harder as that dm read as if they were both interested complaining to him and that makes me think same pm

1) claim or die - on owen. Intense pressure and escalation out of no where. The progression of that push is weird. Its not a bsd choice but its a strange push that developed quickly and odd

2) anytime I've seen speech restrictions as a modifier. Its do x or die. His is. Try to do x and I may or may not kill you. I've never seen that modifier like that. Anyone can attest to that who's been in games with speech modifiers.

When you catch up I said it. I asked the host that and some other pointed questions and I believe Pie followed up to confirm. But go ahead and ask them. I also dug and got other specific details. As obsessed as everyone was with that mech list I am surprised nobody else was playing 20 questions with the host.

Specifically what I was worried about was if they were able to modify a truth it would mean one of the things is not just a lie its directly countering a truth that otherwise would have been revealed.

In terms of role mechanics, yeah, it's not something we see here. I believe I remember an instance of it on DebateArt way back, but that might have been a faked role. I'm not saying it looks mechanically normal, but if Kohai faked this claim, then it's just a coincidence that this is exactly I discussed with Luna back in the Frieren game. Again, it's modpsych, but it's hard for me to shrug off.

I'm not going to overfocus on this point since I think it's pretty silly in general, but your line of questioning focused a lot on the use of Vanilla roles in this game and how Luna would present them. If a role went by another name, that line of questioning goes out the window. Functionally Vanilla is distinct from lumped in with Vanillas.

it seems anti town util but that is something we get in games sometimes like Miller or hated townie, roles designed to be mislynchable
