Also, I guess this was a lie, since you did actually claim your character very early in the DP. The use of a meme is on point for the character based on the description. A thought occurs. The split could be regional. We've got Ken Paxton in TX and Jeff Jackson in NC, so it could be the South vs. some other region/set of regions. Bit wonky, but doable. There are enough states to make it work.

n0 (night 0): The period between the time role PMs go out and the day actually starts

N1 (night 1): The first night phase

I'll wait for answers before giving more than a general position, which I've largely already expressed. It's an outlying character claim, he lied about having claimed it early, and it requires that he just didn't engage in the discussions of theme splits at all for no obvious reason. The early claim makes me wary, though. Would he just have straight claimed his character? I don't think he would have asked about this specific AG, nor about the Producer role. It's a weird pull.

I claimed my role, I win with the town, but wouldn't my role be crucial to finding the Mafia?

Maybe he did it because he did it last game. The issue that bothers me is as you pointed out, him lying about it when pressed and not at least softing democrat.

I think the theme is either split between what Whiteflame said North/South or Rep/Dem.

It will reveal anyone's role to everyone left in the game. So if it's the Cop, you out the town Cop. If it's a scum role, you out scum. If it's a role that could go either way, then it's not a given that you've found scum or confirmed a town member.

Bothers me too, but I'm not ready to vote on that basis, not yet.

Yeah... given how many people have claimed Reps, Dems would almost certainly be scum in the latter scenario. The former is the case for you being town.

Honestly I think you scum slipped.

That said, my state is a considered south

FWIW Jeff Jackson (NC) and Jay Jones (VA) are the only southern Democrats serving as AG. All the others are GOP

I mean, it’s possible that you’re the only one who will claim a Democrat, thinking one member of the scum team could get away with an outlying claim. It’s possible you’re the only one who will claim a Democrat as there aren’t a lot of Democratic AGs in the South. No one else has to be lying so far for either of the above to be true.

I’ll say it, though it should be obvious based on the fact that I brought it up: my AG is also from the South.

well then all I can say I'm not scum with the only proof of my role which the action would take place on DP3 to prove my innocence

Problem is if he's scum once d3 comes around he can just say "oh they were nk'd"

Well I can't prove my role until DP3 which I will gladly prove y'all all wrong if I can live to even see DP2!

I’m not assuming the existence of a Cop if his role is real, no.

The rest depends on the nature of the reveal, which I’ve already asked about.
