Magic's arguments are fair and I'd like some engagement from you plz

Trying to parse what his role could be, with the assumption he just straight claimed his actual character out of ballsiness. All I could get related to her skills in diplomacy was that she convinces others to change their actions, hence a redirector of some kind. A little bit of stretch on that one, though. Other than that, there seems to be more to her than meets the eye, both in how Cassandra takes on the identity of "Evanlyn" for a bit, and how she's the classic "woman who proves her doubters wrong by being surprisingly good at something" character. There is her trusty sling, which she uses to cause brain damage/incapacitate her opponents. Roleblock of some kind? Could be dealing with a JOAT here.

However, there is one other thing, so I have to ask: Are you doing some gambit here with your claim?

Other than that, there seems to be more to her than meets the eye, both in how Cassandra takes on the identity of "Evanlyn" for a bit, and how she's the classic "woman who proves her doubters wrong by being surprisingly good at something" character.

Eh. Doesn't really work cause Godfathers want cops to visit. The claim seems designed to prevent people from visiting him

but the other two ideas have something to them, even if one might be a bit of a stretch

Whiteflame: Solid town. Seems to be genuinely operating from the perspective of uninformed town, as mentioned earlier. I personally think scum would have a better explanation for why they chose the number they did, not one where they barely understood their own motivations.

Thoth: Slight town. Earlier I was townreading him for being brave in selecting a number when he expressed some concern over something bad happening if he picked a number. Now he said he did it because of some probability thing. I kinda buy it. Outside of that, he seems clueless, kinda bouncing all over the place.

RT: Solid town. Claim is too stupid for an insta yolo claim from scum. Really nothing else to say here.

Rex: slight scum. Didn't care for how he started the game and it lowkey feels like he's just reaching when it comes to his read on me. I'll have to double-check Wryly's point on his softclaim.

Wryly: Null. I like how she has a few original thoughts, albeit small, particularly her various thoughts on Rex's softclaim and mass soft ideas. Only thing that bothers me is the open speculation on Lunatic's character.

Lunatic: Null. Hasn't done much. Gave an unexplained townread of me and gave a pretty strict softclaim. I'd say the latter is NAI because it depends on his character, and could just be straightclaiming anyway.

Casey: Null. Has been around, but hasn't really wowed me with anything. Her reaction to my questions are NAI, and her reads don't really impress me. I don't dislike them either.

I’ve been pondering Mikal’s claim for a bit.

Mikal’s claim has a great justification, but hider in a 9-player setup is wild. And if I were hider I’d be baiting the night kill. The whole “claim is scummy sounding” problem can be solved by just pointing to behavior that indicates you were baiting the NK. I don’t like it.

I don’t think scum Mikal would just try and nail a major protagonist off the rip, but then I have to theorize a scum role for his character. Like I said, I’ll admit the justification for compulsive hider matches really well. Maybe something to do with her ability to negotiate with others? Some in-world politics thing.

There's some decent points here, I wouldn't dismiss mikal being scum entirely, but I don't think claiming off the RIP is his scum MO, unless it was mod provided fake claim, then I can see him doing it. And even then I feel like he would save that for his partner unless his partner had a claim that was good itself, or was more familiar with the theme. I wouldn't dismiss these possibilities either, but I also think mikal is usually confident and comfortable enough as scum to bide his time and wait for more claims to come out so he can put something more tangible together. So that is why I am leaning town on the claim atm, but if I do suspect him later then my theory would be that this was a mod provided fake claim.

Interesting take, I feel like taking the fake claim is "less ballsy" of a move and more of a safe move, which is the premise for me thinking that its more than likely legit. I think taking a safe claim from the mod is a pretty easy route, and mikal as scum would opt to give that route to a team mate.

In my main theory he'd be giving the questions to a teammate.

Do we want to get out gender soft-claims like last game? I'm surprised that hasn't been brought up yet.

?? Is there some bizarre rule where you can only townread someone based on their reaction to a reaction test? Wouldn't that make reaction tests completely useless?

I found it odd that Magic is dissecting everything in this game in minute detail and is trying to start discussions with random number tests but didn't speculate at all when I hard scum-read him out of the blue. Isn't responding to that a better opportunity to start engagement/activity ex nihilo than wondering why someone picked a random number?

This type of post reminds me a bit of Rex's scum play in terraria, this kind of logical "baffled by your logic" reactionary defense whilst not really saying anything. The double down on magic is also interesting.

My second gut read is thoth, keeping in mind his whole tactic of "Look guys made a brilliant claim once, so I am not a noob", he is posting quite a bit like last time, but also kind of not really saying anything majorly impactful. That applies to alot of players here including myself, but combined with the earlier sentiment of wanting people to appreciate his scum play, it almost appears bragadocious in comparison to his behavior. I am not majorly suspicious of him at the moment, just kind of questioning his motives.

I did my research. I have nothing to add when it comes to Rex's soft. I don't know what he's hinting at.

With so little time remaining, we’ve got to push in a direction.

I’m not entirely opposed to the Mikal lynch. I think he’s town, but his relative absence from the DP combined with a negative utility role that could push us into dangerous territory if he gets NK’d along with someone else places him on the chopping block. I think Magic’s right that his claim wasn’t the smartest choice for him, but if he really is just this busy, I don’t think he was taking the time to weigh the options and make the optimal decision.

I’m also willing to push and, depending on his claim at least, lynch REF. I’m not the only one who has sussed his posts so far this game and he’s likely to be the focus of attention in future DPs regardless. I don’t love how he’s pushing attention onto Magic in particular on the basis that he didn’t rile in response to what REF claimed without substatiation was a hard sus on him. We already have two full claims on the table as well as an almost character claim from Luna, so I’m hesitant to get too much info this DP. That’s what is holding me back from pushing for his claim, but we’re not getting anywhere. I’d like to at least see REF get more active in these last several hours, so:

I'm okay with the push on Rex. He's a null read for me, hasn't done anything in particular to push the game forward, and I don't like his reaction to Magic's response to his reaction test.
