TOWN WINS

Following the Andor game, I wanted to make it a bit easier for scum to find fake claims, while still making sure the justifications matched the characters pretty well. I think the theme split this game gave scum a wider choice of fake characters to pick from, and Prince Andrew was a fake claim I had in mind that the scum never even considered. People wanted to not be able to solve this game mechanically, then they tried to solve it mechanically and that backfired early on with the blackmailer, so mission accomplished I guess? To explain that decision, the blackmailer mechanic I used was based on what Town of Salem has, adjusted a bit for the forum. Not sure if this was a bad call, but if it was, this is my fault and not Pie's though, because I never asked him how blackmailer is supposed to work.

I have a hard time deciding whether this game was townsided or scumsided. On the one hand, it's the third game of mine in a row the town won, and the scum needed some luck to get as far as they did, like with the doctor being lynched day phase 1 without even claiming. On the other hand, I screwed up Mag1c's first invention and might have made the blackmailer a bit too powerful. In the end I'm glad this ended up cancelling out and it was a close game, which meant that people's decisions did end up mattering.

In addition to your 2-0 record against female presidential candidates, you are best known for not releasing the full Epstein files. Also, a lot of people really, really want to kill you. Shining - You are Bill Gates. In addition to your work on technology, you have been involved in many healthcare initiatives, accelerating access to vaccines and injecting people with microchips to track them and keep them safe. Because of your work improving global health, you are the 2x Doctor, which is also the name of a game you may have played with children on Epstein’s Island. On two nights of your choosing, you can select a player to protect from fatal attacks. You win with the Town.

Helz - You are Ehud Barak. After being mentioned extensively in the Epstein files, you apologized publicly for your relations with Jeffrey Epstein. However, you served dutifully for 36 years in the Israel Defense Forces, so it is unlikely you would ever harm a child. Fittingly, you are the Soldier. If you are the last living town member, your faction will automatically win the game. You win with the Town.

NoAhLeEcLaRk - You are David Copperfield. Among other illusions, you temporarily vanished the Statue of Liberty and your property taxes for two private islands. Because you rely on misdirection to deceive the audience and shift their attention away from your connections with Epstein, you are the 2x Redirector. You can shift any player’s actions to target a player of your choosing. You win with the Town.

Magoroth - You are Michael Jackson. Often called the “King of Pop,” you are widely regarded as one of the most culturally significant figures of the 20th century. You were also accused of sexually abusing at least 10 children, and that’s before we even get to the Epstein connections. Because you are widely known for your music, you are the Singer. If you die at night, a random living town player’s role PM will be revealed to the mafia. You win with the Town.

Mag1cman - You are Dean Kamen. In addition to being named hundreds of times in the Epstein Files, you invented the Segway and hold over 1,000 patents. Therefore, you are the Inventor. You have the following inventions you can give out during the day: 1x Commuter, 1x Tracker, and 1x Watcher. You can only give out one item per day, and an item must be locked in on the day it’s given by the user who receives it for the coming night or it will expire. You win with the Town.

Kohai - You are Bill Clinton, a musician best known for playing the saxophone on late-night television. In your lesser-known role as US president, your approval rating rose even after your affair was revealed, and Republicans didn’t have enough votes to remove you from office. Therefore, you are the Popular Townie. It will take an extra vote to lynch you. You win with the Town.

I think balance was fine, we made a few mistakes. Even with those I thought I could pull it off. Whiteflame is too good. Definitely MVP. GG's everyone.

Oof, yeah, that could've been a big game changer if it went differently. He likely would've targeted either Luna or Kohai (at least based on what he said about how he wanted to use his Redirector), and either way, the result could've been big.

Regardless, it happens.

I can see the thinking with the balance here, though as I said during the game, I'm always a little frustrated with a BP role that's basically limited to one night on activation. Didn't end up mattering here, but it ends up making the role super weak. I do think this was a little scumsided, but not dramatically.

Anyway, GG everyone. Luna played beautifully and had me sweating about the decision right up to the end. Noah, keep playing with us, dude. This was a good start and the more you get used to playing with us, the smoother the experience will get. Hopefully you enjoyed it!

GG. Good call on lynching Luna. I was aware of Luna hard bussing before but I probably would’ve voted Kohai as the bus here didn’t actually seem necessary to me.

Yeah was trying to set magic up to be paranoid of helz, since you were scum reading helz and he was too. It worked out to get the mislynch.

I wouldn’t say I was scumreading him per se, at least not that that point, but I was paranoid of him. I think when you revealed the guilty on Thoth I was definitely expecting the team to be Helz/??, though.

I only really had reads this game on Thoth, Kohai (post-death), Shining and Mag1c. Everyone else was pretty null to me.
