Being delusional is preferable when living in a horrible world

Started by SatanLucy ·

We live in a horrible world and that is simply true. You hear about all the homicides and bad things happening, and you wonder if you will be the next victim of some horrible crime. You hear about possibility of war and you wonder how will you manage if war actually happens. When you go outside, you cant help but think about possibility of a drunk driver running you over or running over your kids or family members. You worry about economy, safety, family, politics, income, expenses, success, failure, if your kids will be successful or will they do drugs or crimes or have bad grades, if food you eat and water you drink is actually healthy, if you will have health issues in life, if you will get cancer, if your vision will go bad...ect.

Simply put, before you even make 1 step, there are already hundreds if not thousands of things to worry about before you even begin anything. This causes huge stress. Is it even possible for a person to live a comfortable life when there are so many things which could go wrong?

I say person must be delusional, having delusion of safety and success, to even be able to function on a daily basis, because without this delusion, brain is constantly overburdened by countless worries.

Being delusional at least gives hope and confidence, where being realistic only makes you worry constantly about everything.

Person simply needs to hear "everything is gonna be okay", but such sentence cannot come from reality where death and suffering is guaranteed, but only from delusion.

Hope is born of despair

Reality makes a person desperate, and no matter how you look at it, no one can guarantee you a good and happy life, and the only way to believe with certainty that your life will be good, long and happy, is by delusion.
