Should we pursue outer space colonization?

From Wikipedia:

Space colonization, or extraterrestrial colonization, is the establishment of human settlements or colonies in outer space and on astronomical bodies. The concept, in its broadest sense, has been applied to any permanent human presence in space, such as a space habitat or other extraterrestrial settlements.[2] It may involve notions of territorial occupation, resource control for economic or military purposes, such as extraterrestrial mining, or military practice ground as shown in a space force.

Colonization further into the future

I believe as of now we shouldn't, but obviously we should be advanced enough, so that if something does happen to the Earth, we would already have a set plan for Space Colonization.

As of now we cannot and maybe in the future we might, though current rocket technology is too inefficient and human fragility is a huge stumbling block...Maybe an AI will succeed if we fail...Depends upon the greater purpose of universal material evolution, which may never have been intended for the participation of an intelligent organic device.
