Bold claim I know, but hear me out.

As recently as even a few months ago I would have said no way, but now I’ve actually moved to thinking it’s more likely than not. Here’s the case for;

Come 2027, Trump will officially become a lame duck. Republicans will be looking to 2028 and realizing that Trump’s void cannot be filled. They will need to find another way forward. Not just another candidate, another path entirely.

Democrats are overwhelmingly likely to take control of one if not two chambers come January. This will only drive republicans further away from Trump and Trumpism.

Over the past few months Trump has demonstrated what mental health experts have been warning us about for years; given the above two points, Trump is only going to go deeper and deeper down his narcissistic hole. This is where the past few months come in. Just over the past few weeks Trump has:

1. Sued his own IRS for $10B
2. Attempted to settle with himself to give cash handouts to J6 rioters
3. Tapped a real estate guy with no experience whatsoever to become the acting DNI whose only qualification is his willingness to weaponize mortgages against Trump political enemies
4. Put his face on American currency and on US passports
5. Continues to focus heavily on the reflecting pool, arch, ballroom, and is holding the UFC fight at the White House on his own birthday.

This is extreme, even for Trump, but here’s the thing… he’s doing all of this in the heart of election season.

So here’s a genuine question for those who doubt my prediction here… what will Trump do once it really sets in that he has no election left to concern himself with? If 2027 goes as all evidence points to, it will be clearer than ever to him that he has no chance of pulling off some kind of constitutional heist. What will he do then? Just how far will he go?

The man is a lunatic like we’ve never seen. With his back truly against the wall, it will only get worse. I don’t think we’ve seen anything yet, and I think even the MAGA cult won’t be able to defend it.

The president's corruption has gotten so bad that wet literally can't even keep up with it anymore. Most recent example is that he bought stock in Dell right before they were awarded a massive government contract, and also told a crowd to buy stock in Dell, for no apparent reason other than to boost his own holdings.

In a story that will surprise no one who has been paying attention, Trump actually told Norwegian leadership that him not getting the Nobel peace prize is a big contributing factor to his decision to threaten military action to take Greenland.

“According to both Bloomberg and Reuters, in his letter to the Norwegian leader, Trump wrote: “Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”

Trump suggested peace “will always be predominant,” but added he “can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America,” according to the letter.

I know it’s futile to expect anything better of Trump supporters, but seriously, are you guys still going to pretend this moron is who we need leading our country?

So this is America now, a raid on a residential apartment building forcing American citizens out of their beds in the middle of the night at gunpoint because the administration says they were looking for Venezuelan gangs, to which they have yet to provide any evidence were prevalent in those building. These citizens also include children, some of which were ziptied and dragged outside naked.

Very curious to know what the Trump supporting immigration hardliners have to say about this.

I'm also especially interested in knowing what the 2nd amendment advocates here have to say. For years, despite how objectively dangerous and deadly it is to have a country flooded with guns, these folks insisted it was needed to fight back against government tyranny. So I assume then that you support Chicagoans arming themselves and getting ready to shoot down federal agents?

So the President publicly calls for the prosecution of James Comey. The US attorney he hired refuses on the basis that there's no evidence of a crime. Trump fires that federal prosecutor and replaces them with an insurance lawyer who's never prosecuted anyone before and who also happens to be one of Trump's personal attorneys. Trump then publicly and explicitly tells his attorney general to get this done. Then Comey is indicted.

Is there anyone left out there still pretending that this is a DOJ guided by fairly upholding the rule of law?

The killing of Charlie Kirk is a disgusting and deplorable act no one should be cheering. I genuinely lost a tear or two after hearing the news. He was just 31 with two very young children. No one deserves that.

But immediately after processing the reality of what has happened, I already know what comes next, we’ve seen it over and over again. To this day right wingers refer to attempts on Trump’s life as being committed by “the left”, and sure enough, Trump gave a shameless disgusting and unhinged speech last night where he actually listed every instance of political violence against right wing figures in recent years while purposefully omitting any instance of violence against left wing figures. No mention of the two MN lawmakers who were gunned down in their homes of a declared political assassination a few months ago. No mention of an attempted assassination Josh Shapiro earlier this year, hell he even mentioned the Steve Scalise shooting while omitting the Gabby Giffords shooting within about a year of it. And mind you, all this from the same man who joked about the Paul Pelosi attack to a laughing crowd of supporters and just days ago posted that the military would go to war with an American city.

Jesse Waters also chimed in by saying “this is war” against “the left”, and the Oathkeepers shared a similar sentiment. This is what happens when you have nothing else. The right has no policies that will help improve the lives of its constituency so all they can do is blame and demonize. Campaign in improving healthcare, they don’t care. Campaign on making housing more affordable? Big whoop. Talk about how you’re going to get rid of the brown people? Massive cheers. Talk about combating trans people? Crowd goes wild. Talk about how Trump got shot? They all flock to the voting booth.

This is what comes next. I don’t know just how much this will energize them, but this is the play.

Setting aside the fact that this is the blatant weaponization of government Trump supporters decried all of last year, this is what our president and his administration is focused on.

To those who voted for him, how are you not embarrassed? No, seriously, how?
