I knew it was a mistake to submit it before it was due. But I also thought I kinda suck at that game, so someone like Magic would top it with ease.
What was the item anyways?

Feels nice that I had two out of three scum dead to rights; even if clueless about the third.
whiteflame was susing Pie, and I could entertain that notion, but I think had the game continued Pie would have won in the end after killing whiteflame.

Can you even afford a mustache?

Cool story bro.
Why lie about the decade? And why would you not start whatever day after you investigated a scum with that declaration?
Much like I don't believe your claim of absorbing the popular role from Pie, I don't believe you're a cop. Especially not a cop who can't specify what day he investigated anyone, nor explain why they skipped some nights at random... Nothing adds up, other than the fact that nothing from you adds up.
Apologies you got such a shit hand from Vader to try to make a play out of, but this is a poor one.
Ragnar · a year ago
You've had a good amount of time to come clean on what yours and Vader's deal really is...
Since you/Vader claim that you used your Absorber role on Pie, who is confirmed to be popular, it's a pretty easy one for us to test...

yall went kumbaya and planned night actions together? I’m sorry but that’s a very very tough pill for me to swallow
The planning of night actions is what made me reveal I to WF that I was more than just a lightening rod, since it would have been detrimental to town for anyone to act based on it. You can confirm with Vader/RT that coordination began to be executed with them as well (even if it was aborted in favor of the plan to deflect a doctor back on himself... which again, is the one night we avoided anyone dying).
Regarding NP2, there are three explanations that have been offered for why no one died.
2 and 3 are not mutually exclusive (both could have been executed, with it unknown until the end game which intercepted the kill). But if whiteflame was scum, why not simply kill someone else that night? We're talking about during the two night phases in a row, as scum he could have done amazing damage while half of the communication was going through him.

My two leads are Casey and Vader/RT, but I'll give some analysis to others.
Casey: scum
First, they've been online plenty over the last day since I destroyed their case, but are doing the scum silence tactic of letting town tear itself apart, rather than risking further attention to their exposed contradictions. I'm not one to judge a little "lurking," but this is a vital time (especially before our host extended the day phase).
Let's see, they admitted to lying about who they targeted, and have been caught red handed lying about their role (a lie their silence maintains). Also worth noting that the role they claim is easily confirmable, but they have decided against doing just that.
Vader/RationalTheist: scum
If they really are scum, I feel bad for the scum team.
They claim a passive role, which they used actively. When it was Vader playing, WF, Vader, and I had considered a plan in which I'd send the RB to them to absorb; since they can only use their power passively (it's not like they could just select me and choose the power they want)... Yeah, I'm considering them scum until they give total transparency (needless to say, paraphrase instead of copy/paste from the role PM, but try to stay detailed).
Pie: town
There's some questionable points in the analysis offered, but it feels like townie errors rather than forced errors from scum trying to masquerade as town.
whiteflame: city
There have been times in the mason chat that I questioned if he could be scum, but those passed (one example was him having absorbed a JOAT, when I too am a JOAT, and which I'm used to only seeing one of in a game... Honestly, if there were any more JOATs in the game I'd wonder if the theme is just JOATs vs everyone else). He could have used the chat to destroy town; especially during the period in which the sun didn't come up. Instead he used the mason chat to coordinate, and begin drafting the outline to a Truck-Kun Isekai story.
Rex: Town
I actually sused Rex for a bit, with the whole visiting Magic the night Magic dies, and Magic visited Rex to waste his healing power... Whiteflame used his coordination to reassure me on the details here, that those were really the visits they had communicated to him. Plus, he's our one investigator; which is hard to fake even with the mason chats.
Shinning: null
My worry is I never think of them, so they slip through the cracks. That said, I trust half of their role, since otherwise what would the point have been of Magic's healing? That of course doesn't make them scum sided or town sided, especally assuming there's two scum, the ability for an extra death or two makes sense.
Ragnar:
Basically, see posts #46 and #87. But it's well summarized with this:
As a reminder, the theory that I'm scum, and my scum buddy motivated me, but I told everyone instead of just killing two people...

That means there are still 2 JOATs
Probably a good time for me to come clean. I passed misinformation to Casey (who acted sus in the Mason chat) to try to avoid WF getting NKed (as another player put it, he's not just town, he's the whole city).
I'm also a JOAT, leveraging three popular Pokémon AKA pocket monsters.
DP1 I used lightening rod on both whiteflame and then Casey. Both were told at the time, both have implicitly verified this (unless I'm multi accounting with literally every other player in the game to know that no one would target them with anything at all...).
DP2 I coordinated with Magic through whiteflame, to use a deflect allowing them to self-doctor (this was the one night no one died; apparently whiteflame also used an ability on himself, so it could be either).
DP3 I roleblocked Casey for being sus (in case they were town, I suggested they waive their final action to save for when we had more information; as they are not town read, there was almost zero risk of them being NKed). My action was successful, and I've confirmed with our host that two roleblockers would cancel each other out both failing (I bring this up because they claim their RB of me failed, yet somehow mine on them was a success).
As a reminder, the theory that I'm scum, and my scum buddy motivated me, but I told everyone instead of just killing two people...
Well, I'll again let RDJ explain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6WHBO_Qc-Q
I also got the 95k score in the contest (I lucked out by playing at a time when hackers were not on, subsequent tries had snakes noclipping and killing me with ease). If anyone needs it, I can pass the screenshot through mason chat. This isn't the winning one, but I suspect since no ones outed getting it yet, that it didn't go to town.

1x absorber. The justification is that in the game Space Invaders I'm always under attack from alien misses and have temporary shields that can absorb some shots before collapsing.
This shot was used on NP2 on Pie.
I know you're filling in for Vader, and are stuck with the hand he dealt you; which includes what he communicated over Discord... But my understanding of the role Absorber, is that it absorbs active roles which target it... So what exactly did Pie (who is verified Popular) target you with that you could absorb?
Ragnar · a year ago
Vader should still confirm in his own words.
That said, we have the outline of everyone's actions.

Ragnar · a year ago
I literally specified not having any ability to kill anyone, and indicated if a certain proud and white member of town survived the night, it would be evidence I was neither scum nor a vigilante.
So this is wrong on a couple of counts. ... Also you said that if Mharman died on NP1, that would make you look bad because he'd be your target if you were scum or a Vig.
*slow clap* Oh you got me there, no way could anyone could mistake me saying I'd kill him if I could, for me saying I'd kill him if I could; you caught the lie, I said I'd kill him not that I would kill him... Perfectly logical counter claim in your world... A world in which I sincerely hope no one else lives.
Since you think I'm scum, please explain your theory for how I knew we had a motivator, knew he would target me (I think it's more likely he targeted whiteflame, but all the same), and knew that both you and whiteflame wouldn't be targeted by anything with notifications from other townies that night?
You yourself got Motivated as scum. Simple explanation.
So now your theory is expanding to scum having motivators (I guess out host is lying about Magic?), which instead of using to kill anyone (or any other useful effect), we waste it to get a second use of a lightening rod... All while telling both targets of it who in all was selected, so any cop investigating any of them would in turn investigate me, and you'd all know of the misdirect and lynch me DP2 (the same applies for trackers seeing me carrying out a kill, etc).
Yeah, you only have two shots with your power; having it in play tonight when we have good information, would have been better than whatever shot in the dark... But let's explore this a touch more, you think I'm scum, and talked you out of using your power; why would I then waste a valuable RB on you in spite of the assumption that you'd take no action?
I didn't even tell you that I was going to waive or who I was thinking of targeting. You would have had no way of knowing if I was going to waive or who I was going to target if I didn't.
If I particularly cared and thought you were town, I would have buddies up and gotten the information from you. Whenever you were on, you were seemingly busy in another chat, which made me less inclined to trust you... Also your earlier assumptions relied on me knowing what everyone's roles and actions are ahead of time to know no investigations would go towards you or whiteflame, why is that incredible foresight you're basing your theory on no longer in play when it's no longer convenient?
You're wanting to have your cake and eat it too, and the required assumptions for it are truly moronic.

Glad you're so aloof in Discord, that I can so easily scroll back... I'm of course finding it interesting what you're leaving out from the chat to paint me as scum, and what you're adding in...
Ragnar, and he had already indicated that he had a PR of some sort in our Mason chat
During the day1 I did not suggest I had any power role. I literally specified not having any ability to kill anyone, and indicated if a certain proud and white member of town survived the night, it would be evidence I was neither scum nor a vigilante.
Later in the same night, I told you that I received a second use of my power, and very shortly thereafter that if I died it meant a 33% chance someone tried to kill you (low on time, had to make a snap decision).
Since you think I'm scum, please explain your theory for how I knew we had a motivator, knew he would target me (I think it's more likely he targeted whiteflame, but all the same), and knew that both you and whiteflame wouldn't be targeted by anything with notifications from other townies that night? Hell, I'd have been lynched DP2 if whiteflame received the second action while I was pretending to lightening rod him.
...
Also worth noting that he suggested that I waive on NP3.

Why do you care about dying with your role?
Because I know I'm town, and felt I was a likely target.
Also, it was a one off suggestion along the lines of "if you can't think of anything better for tonight." Not exactly applying pressure, nor protesting when Pie was chosen.

Ragnar and Casey particularly need to claim.
I'm Pokémon. I've got Pikachu's thunder attack, which translates into mafia as a lightening rod (our host did not say lightening rod, but the description matches; I pull whatever has targeted my target to myself).
NP1 I used my power on whiteflame, and then on Casey as well since I received a second use of it (so someone (almost certainly Magic) granted whiteflame or myself a second action). Both whiteflame and Casey were immediately informed of my actions, including the second action, so can verify.
NP2 was whiteflame again, since he is our hub and him surviving means more than mine.
NP3 see NP2.

I've had more time than anticipated today, but have mostly been limited to my cellphone while I was waiting on a friend (gave them a ride to a job interview, and some errands before it).
I am driving to Seattle in a bit to cat-sit, so I might be in traffic when the day ends. I'll try to stop at a gas station to assist with any hammering if it's needed. I believe my Mason buddies can ping me over Discord to alert me of the need (still planning to stop and check, but a message on discord is more efficient than reading however many pages on here)
I will add that the cats are wholly independent of this game, so the need to cat-sit is unlikely to be an indication of my faction.

Whoever made this diagram, thank you!

I’m sure you’ve already answered this, but why did you out yourself so easily? Had you let us all believe you were an unstated power role, then pressure would have eased, and scum would have been more likely to target you.
Ragnar · a year ago
Vote RT. If he's town, then lynch me next DP.
If you’re both town, you’d really want to be lynched, likely costing us the game?
Ragnar · a year ago
What was everyone's reason for masoning WF?
Quite simply, talking about mafia with him is on average better than actually playing it. Like half our chat content is memes and gifs.
Ragnar · a year ago
what's the point of asking people for their timestamps?
Hypothetically, mafia wishing to be more tactical might have delayed their mason activities.

I have a very busy day ahead of me, so anything critical should be relayed through one of them (way easier to catch up on discord, than however many pages here).

RT is scum.
I agree this is very likely. They certainly didn’t seem to have that much pressure on them when they claimed.
However, unless we hit MYLO, it’s a huge gamble.
