Greetings,

I recently launched a new home page and I've got some mixed reviews on it. I am working on a few designs and wanted the community's input on site design and development. Please answer the following questions:

1) Do you typically use dark mode or light mode?

2) What information do you want to see on the home page?

3) What part of the current design works and what does not?

4) What color palets do you like?

As it stands, I kinda feel this site feels too much like a modern SASS app rather than a proper debate site.

I've done some experimentation on trying to bring back some of the classic DDO feel. I wanted to bring this design up to the community and get the community's feedback

To be honest the site has tons of cool features. We have everything really I have ever wanted back on DDO. I wouldn’t say stop making new features or anything, but maybe the new crowd has more things they want. I’m perfectly content with the site the way it is though.

In loving Memory of Lannan and Ajab, fallen debaters.

I especially like the new "Opinions" section. Whoever came up with that is a genius.

That was Kohai. It's based on a similar thing on ddo. We were a bit conflicted about adding it earlier seeing as it might attract the lowest common denominator, but the user base here seems a bit more mature.

Yeah. It was a direct copy from DDO.

The problem on DDO was the opinion quality was really bad and we also didn’t want to add too many features at once.

Now that we have decent activity this is a good time to pilot opinions

Think of it as coffee / hot chocolate.

I hope you like the color scheme

Fine by me.

It's cool but you can't neglect the functionalities. So far I'm not able to copy/paste simple text on new posts.

What's the matter with that?

Someone please send me an offline facsimile so I can play with it and show the staff my version of it.

Forum signatures are bullshit. Nobody wants to waste their time and bandwidth reading something they have read 29,998,559,671,349 times before.
