I chose fauxlaw as my user name when I first joined DA in 2020. I published a nonfiction in 2019 by the same name about interpretation of the US Constitution being as variable as making cafeteria meal choices [I use that comparison in the book] specifically by those who are sworn to uphold it most seriously, i.e., Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court. I began by thinking that SCOTUS was most abusive in its interpretation, even though the Document originated in English and little more than 200 years ago, in which time the language has not altered all that much, so the document ought to be easily read and understood. I discovered, in research, that SCOTUS, after all, is the least abusive, holding to its principles more frequently than either of the other two branches, only reversing itself in decisions only 200 times [rounded] of well over 2,000 cases in its history. Compared to the other two branches, that's an admirable record.

Since, 6 years later, and a transition to Debate Craft, I still use the same username, and only changed the avatar this week, I'll have to admit my preference for avoiding change.

Is this why you did all those rap battles on the debate websites? I never had a President who rapped before, but if all Presidents rapped you'd probably be the best one because of your experience

My username was first chosen on DebateArt--it was completely random, but then I added irony with my pfp to resemble the leader of the Penguins of Madagascar. I had no idea what to put as my name, so I thought of a name that sounded like a kid's name and could also be a nickname for the kid. On Dart, I had added "Sr" at the end to be "Senior" which didn't make any sense. I didn't know at the time that my random choice was actually a great choice because now I get to be a character from nostalgic movies I liked when I was younger. I shortened it to be just Skipper for DC.

I have trouble with sticking with usernames online. I've changed my main username for games and social media a few times, and I'll probably change it one more time before settling on one. But with this community, I plan on keeping Skipper😊

It's a truncation of my DART username, which was an excerpt from the Lacrimosa, from the Dies Irae of the Catholic requiem mass. It describes the ressurection of the dead and the final judgement. I've always found it to be a poignant and very moving image, evoking both sincere repentance and hope for mercy.

Taoism like most things needs to be afforded...It's a sort of mind hobby that needs to be fitted in between other stuff...And like most things some people will be more obsessive and remain more obsessive than others.
