Evil, mischievous or marvellous...Take your pick.

Jesus offers salvation to everyone even the wicked and evil among us.

@Debby

Nope...Jesus the character from Middle Eastern folk tales would have died almost 2000 years ago.

I think that you are confusing him with the Roman Catholic theo-political business empire, that will offer you all sorts of therapies and tacky trinkets...At a price of course.

Roll up roll up, get your salvation and a hand crafted figurine of the virgin Mary here, BOGOF.

The trinkets are a reminder of the many times you sought forgiveness.

God allows suffering because it is a consequence of bad human actions. He also shows us a way to overcome it.

But we never seem to learn.

We still have Satan helping to misguide us.

It's the way it goes...Like one always imagines skimpy lingerie under a Nuns habit.

No doubt you fantasise an image of me too...In fact I look rather similar to Fauxlaws image of GOD...Rather than similar to one of FLRW's dancing studs...You know, the ones you secretly fantasise about when Jesus and his Dad aren't looking.

God is not the cause of suffering just because he allows it. That's not a root cause because it is not his doing in the first place;

So tell us, What do you believe is the "root cause" of mankind's suffering is"? and why do you say it is not god that causes suffering?

I think that is a falascious idea that suffering was supposed to end. That is not an eartly event, but one of heaven,

Are you sure about that?

Man, himself, is the cause of his suffering. It is not God, because he gave man free agency to choose his own thoughts/actions. It is not Satan, for he cannot coerce, either, but merely suggest. Satan does not have all power over us, contrary to the common thinking, "The devil made me do it." No, we do that to ourselves.

Yes, I am certain man's suffering will not end in this mortal life, since death itself will be visited upon all, and death is the final enemy, causing its own brand of suffering on mankind. But all men and women will be redeemed from death, but that, itself, does not mean all will live with God in heaven. We will all live in different places, which aligns with how we lived our mortal lives. Either we keep all God's commandments and adequately repent for our wrongdoing, or we do not. So law has greater consequences than others, just as sins vary in their degree of onfraction and necessity of more focused repentance to obtain forgiveness. God's justice is perfect and complete.

God’s justice has been around as long as pain and suffering has been with mankind. Even Jesus suffered and died in pain.

Nothing else matters. Nothing about your life matters. How how you die doesn't matters. It's all irrelevant.

Agreed.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm not a Christian. I do not believe in the Biblical Literary Universe. Thanks for your concern though!

All of the facts of the story of the resurrection of Jesus can be explained naturally without appealing to the supernatural.

Two facts support this theory. Pilate said that he was surprised how quickly Jesus died (Mark 15:44). And Josephus tells a story about a man he knew personally that survived after being taken down from a cross.

So Jesus could have also survived. He may have passed out from exhaustion on the cross, and when he didn't respond to being pierced by the spear, they wrongly assumed he was dead and removed him. They placed his body in a tomb instead of a grave, so he later regained consciousness and removed the rock and walked out. So when the women went to see him, the rock was moved and the tomb was empty.

Because he was wounded and wanted by both Roman and Jewish authorities, he fled Jerusalem. He later visited his disciples to let them know he was alive, which explains the eyewitness accounts. He never stayed because it would have endangered the disciples.

Eventually rumors got out that he was still alive and the authorities went after the disciples to locate him. They refused to disclose his whereabouts, or simply didn't know where he was, so they were murdered/martyred.

The story was later changed by writers in Greece to deify Jesus and compete with other superstitions and religions based on resurrection stories. The resurrection was also written as a literary device to parallel spring solstice, while his birth was written to parallel winter solstice.

@FLRW

Jesus’s resurrection is the cornerstone of Christianity. Jesus was around for forty days after his resurrection and put to rest the many doubts that people had about it being true.

@Debby

I have no doubts...I know it wasn't true...He was either dead or not dead...It's the way it goes.

And the consequences of life and a nervous system are pain and death.

And two consequences of your mind Debs, are fantasy and wishful thinking.

Which is fine...Stay cool.

No one goes to hell for committing the plethora of sins that plague humanity. The only sin that warrants Hell, itself, i.e., the kingdom that Satan operates [poorly] is the sin against the Holy Spirit, i.e., to deny that God the Father is the Father, and that Christ is his Son while in theiur physical presence. Very few of us will ever be in such a situation during our mortal lives. Any other sin can be forgiven by our prooer repentance.

Jesus’s death was established by Jewish authorities, biblical accounts and Roman records. His crucifixion was also witnessed by thousands. His isciples went to their deaths believing in his resurrection.

Well, I've never dismissed out of hand the idea of an actual miscreant and charlatan being executed 1993 or so years ago.

And for sure his mates would have have subsequently died...That's life and death.

And "The Bible" was written 1400 years or so later...(I smile)

And immediate reference suggests that there are no Roman records...Only later literary references...Which is typical.

Similarly, Jewish records.

Roman records of Jesus. By Tacitus, Suetonius and Pliny the younger.

jewish records. of Jesus by Flavius, Josephus .

The Babylonian Talmud. These were historians who wrote separately. Besides the disciples.
