After all of the witnessing of “miracles & wonders” by hundreds of thousands of Jewish people and hundreds of thousands more hearing those wonderful sermons about selling your worldly goods to give “poor” and buy swords, it appears that the short minded and forgetful Jews still couldn’t recognise a “messiah” when they seen and heard one in action. Or could they?

The crowds, we are told were so desperate to watch this man Jesus work his miracles and wonders that they would climb trees to get just a glimpse of him or cut holes in the roof of the house just to get a better view and be nearer to him. Mark3:20 – Mark4:1 – Luke 7:11 – Luke 8:19 Luke 12:1. Thousands upon thousands had also travelled long distances too:

“many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon”. Mark 3:7-9

And it is said that just a glimpse of Jesus was enough to have the Jews“overwhelmed with wonder” and clamouring to greet him”. Mark9:14

So to say he was `held in high esteem` doesn't even cover it does it.

How then could it all suddenly be forgotten by thousands of people that had witnessed Jesus healing the sick and making dead people alive again on so many occasions? What about all those wedding guests that he had kept in booze all day, John2:1-11, had even they too forgot this “miracle”?

Where were the five thousand and the four thousand that had heard the sermons spoken by the “son of god” himself and who had fed every single one of them? Matthew 14:13-21, Matthew 15:29-39.

Pilate asked them, "Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?" Matthew27:17;

“Barabbas,”they answered. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Luke23:25 offers a little more information by telling us that:

“He released the man [Barabbas] who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, but he delivered Jesus over to their will”.

So these ungrateful Jews- those he had actaully been sent so save - it appears, preferred it that a murder was let loose amongst them to run the streets.

Why then did the multitude of Jews choose the murdering zealot Jesus Barabbas over the son of god and prince of peace Jesus the Messiah?Jesus after all, was the messiah allegedly prophesied about in the OT and recognise to be the messiah by non other than John the Baptist about whom the bible says was: “the greatest prophet that was ever born of woman” Matthew11:

Was it a case of Right or Wrong Choice? Or just another made up story ?

Oh and lets us not forget, some of those people may have been Christians too, when we consider that a few members here on this forum insist that there were Christians in Jesus' time.

This is actually one of the key moments in the Bible that link to what fascinates me in that there's somehow a modern strong correlation between being very right wing and being religious in general despite Christianity being a Socialist-value religion. What happened was the Jewish equivalent of Far Right Extremists (known as Zealots) adored the barbaric Jewish supremacist violent acts of Barabbas, he was literally the equivalent of an IRA extremist for the Irish but for the Jews (this is documented elsewhere and is in the notes of some Catholic Bible translations regarding him). In contrast, Yeshua (commonly misnamed as Jesus) actually was more like a far Leftist revolutionary, much more akin to Che Guevara if you will.

This is what is fascinating and confusing about the future politics from then as quite clearly it is the far left who loathe religion.

Edit post

The US is a definitively secular nation, founded on complete separation of the State and religion. The Left Wing of US realise this but don't realise that pure freedom requires as low tax and free access to guns as possible. The Right Wing of US don't realise that secular pure freedom means the LGBTQ+ and abortion agendas both end up in line with US's liberty-first ethos.

It is left-wing to be pro-life. You are backing poor babies being born at the inconvenience of the already-born. Go figure.

Interesting Post, Goy.

Tell me, why would Pilate allow (Jesus Barabbas) a murderer of Romans and frequent rebellions to go free and instead brutally crucify a ( believed to be) peace loving pacifist that preaches "turn the other cheek and give to the poor"?

And why did the multitude cry out for and demand the death of Jesus after all the "wonderful miracles" he is said to have performed that was purported to have been witnessed buy thousands?

religion was the politics of the time.

This only goes to prove the grip Satan had on the Jewish people. They were so blinded by Satan that they could not recognize Jesus’s mission and even chose Barabbas over Jesus.

But Jesus’s sacrifice and death were prophesied and served to fulfill his mission.

The Jews have been punished by God throughout their history.

It proves nothing of the sort. You have admitted yourself that Pilate crucified Jesus do sedition.

They were so blinded by Satan that they could not recognize Jesus’s mission and even chose Barabbas over Jesus.

More nonsense: Even his close inner circle of 12 didn't know or have a clues as to what Jesus' actual mission was.

But Jesus’s sacrifice and death were prophesied and served to fulfill his mission.

So you say. But its odd then that god forgot to tell Jesus' Mother Mary ( blessed among all women) about her sons cruel torturous demise, isn't it? After telling about all the great things that her son will achieve and what he will become?

The Jews have been punished by God throughout their history.

So the bible says; But it is odd don't you think that these punishments" came in the form of natural disasters and or defeat in battles and war all fought by men? I shall expand on this later.

There were, by record, people who followed Christ during his mortal lifetime, but there is not biblical record in existence today that these followers called themselves "Christians" during Christ's mortal life. Within 10-20 years following his death and resurrection, yes, followers began calling themselves Christians. "Disciple" was the follower term from the beginning of his ministry. What they called themselves is of little effect, frankly. That they recognized who and what he was is of importance, because the other is just a tag to apply, not the thing, itself.

Jesus’s death was prophesied in the Bible. If Mary knew her Bible she would have known what to expect. It is obvious she knew because she was with Jesus to the end. Peter recognized Jesus as the Christ/Messiah. But Satan still controlled the mind of the Jews.

The jews killed jesus cause he made himself out to be divine and they thought that was the worst crime possible. They were blinded by that and chose to overlook his miracles and pick a murderer instead.

Im not sure what you think youre proving unless you want to change your position now that I've educated you

The Jews were never known for their good judgement or making the correct choice. A good example was attacking the Roman after they demanded Jesus be crucified. Then choosing to move to Germany after Rome destroyed the temple and Jerusalem. Now they are committing genocide in Gaza.

Why do you insist on ripping Christianity apart when it improves the world while Islam actively makes it worse. Isn't your energy best spent elsewhere?

Why do you lot insist on ignoring the questions in the OP?

Stop crying and take on the questions. Its the bible that I am arguing about and scrutinizing and questioning. . And there are 4 or 5 questions that you ignored from the OP. Get o it or leave the thread,.

You need to educate yourself first sunshine. Lets break down you uneducated comment.

(a) The Romans "killed Jesus" via crucifixion not the Jews.. They - the Jews _ could have killed him themselves and indeed they had tried to quite a few times but he is said to have escaped back to the bandit country of Galilee ( where else) where most, if not all of his chosen 12 zealots originated .

(b) The Jews wanted Jesus dead because they stood to lose their lucrative positions that afforded them a very high standard of living and lots of cash. And in their opinion Jesus was upsetting the status quo. They the puppet priests - needed an excuse and found one.

chose to overlook his miracles and pick a murderer instead.

Oh stop it! Are you telling me that the thousands that made up the multitudes simply decided that all his so called "miracles" weren't enough for them to offer their support.!? _ raising dead children and making blind people see! weren't enough? No one as far as we offered Pilate a witness statement referencing all the wonderous things he had been doing for the poor and needy in the country?

Unless of course there hadn't been any "miracles" performed at all but were simply initiation rituals with symbolic meanings, which is more likely the case and no "miracles" had been performed at all. Which happens to be my own belief.

The Jews called for Jesus to be crucified.

john 19:6-22 they shouted Crucify him, Crucify him!

Even when given a chance to save Jesus the Jews picked Barabbas over Jesus. Matthew 27:15-26, Mark 15:6-15, Luke 23:18-25, John 18:39-40.

The reason the Jews gave for wanting to kill Jesus was their disbelief he was their God.

john 10:33 we are not stoning you for your good works, but for blasphemy and because You being a man, make yourself out to be God.

jesus proved them wrong by his resurrection and by establishing the Christian church to replace Judaism.

Are you trying to tell me that Jesus died on the cross? And that after laying on a stone cold slab in a tomb, rotting and stinking for three days that you believe he came back to life!?

Well I don't!!! You do know , don't you , that the stories of dying and rising gods have been around hundreds if not thousands of years before Christians decided it would wrap around and suite their story of Jesus very nicely?

I shall have to start a thread on the subject. Would you like that "Debby"?

I see your point but it seems realistic enough to me that a deeply religious community that believed in miracles and took them for granted might be willing to overlook them to suit their agenda of religious belief and as you say the status quo. Religious fanatics will do anything

Don't forget that the idea of Jesus rising from the dead and christianity spread very fast after his death according to our best scholarly knowledge

Are you telling me that Jesus dies on the cross . And that after laying on a cold stone slab in a tomb, rotting and stinking for three days, that he came back to life?

1 Corinthians 15:6 which states that Jesus appeared to more than 500 brothers and sisters at one time, a claim written about 10-20years of the event, when many were still alive. Other appearances were recorded to the twelve and individual disciples.

Particularly noteworthy is that there are no accounts of witnesses who came forth and disputed these appearances and called it a hoax, not a single one. Nor do we find any historical records of any witness accounts that were contradictory.

There you have your answer backed by multiple witness accounts.

jesus also appeared before his disciples and some even touched him to confirm his presence.

His disciples were willing to give up their lives bearing witness to the resurrection of Jesus . Such were their convictions.

All your questions are based on your doubts about the word of God as inspired in the Bible. The Bible is the primary source of Christian faith. As a non practicing Christian you are being controlled by Satan and lack the biblical knowledge to defend yourself.

Indeed my doubt spring directly from and are "inspired by", the multiple, ambiguous, half told stories in the bible and its clear contradictions that you can't even admit to there existing in the BIBLE!

When the scribes were copying the Bible to make duplicates they would often come across situations where they would supplement their own explanation. Thus failing to respect the context of the text they were copying. Bart Ehrman gives several other reasons where human errors were created.
