In Revelation 22:18-19 we are warned that no man should add to or take away what is written.

"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book".

Its so much easier and quicker these day to research just about anything. Long gone are the days of swatting for hours in libraries, were as nowadays just click of a mouse will do the heavy lifting for you with reasonably good results.

So can I suggest that you click yours and lets see if that stern warning was adhered to by the Gospel writers or the Church leaders and followers of the church ?

Well right off the bat we can seen that the resurrection storey in Mark was a much later "added to" and there is not a single biblical scholar that will deny this.

What was or "taken away from" John's gospel? Well only the immaculate conception and birth of Jesus - king of the Jews - the Messiah, lord and saviour of all mankind himself.

If we research extrabiblical theological material we can find that the raising of Lazarus from the dead back to life is also an addition.

Mark was updated to be consistent with the rest of the disciples as far as the resurrection goes. The resurrection was not an addition it occurred and the other disciples already mentioned it. It was not a new addition.

John had a different theological focus which emphasizes Jesus’s divine pre-existence over his earthly origins. Which made the specific birth story unnecessary. It was already told by others.

Remember the disciples were guided by the Holy Spirit when writing their accounts and each one had a different unique experience with Jesus.

The book of Revelation was the last book to be published. The other Gospels were written decades before it. So even the disciples were not in violation of God’s warning.

The gospel of John was written last. So it might have additional accounts that had not yet happened during the other Gospel times. Lazarus was probably still alive when Mark, Luke and Matthew wrote their gospels.

That'll be added to then. and decades after the fact.

And against the dire warning not to add or take away from the "BOOK". Thank you.

which emphasizes Jesus’s divine pre-existence over his earthly origins.

Which was against the dire warnings he decided to take away - from that which was already written in the BOOK, Thank you.

And Lazarus, wasn't dead either.

Added as in something new not known or mentioned before.

The resurrection was a known fact and Mark was not adding anything not known about Jesus. He was just completing his gospel. Note Revelation was the last book written. So mark was not violating God’s warning which came decades after he had written his Gospel.

yes Lazarus was still alive so they could not write about his death. But because Gospel of John was written later. It included his death.

Like you infer, the modern bible was modified, adapted, translated and retranslated...So made up in the first millennium and the first half of the second....And most of the Jesus tales were fabricated sometime after his execution....And Jesus's ex-boyfriend John made up the Book of Revelation when he was approximately 90 years of age after receiving messages...What we would probably diagnose today as senile dementia...

Though as you probably know, it is a widely held view that it was a different John altogether who compiled the fantasy ending to the NT.

Correct!!! Something added after the fact. I.E after the Revelation.

Debby wrote: Lazarus was still alive so they could not write about his death.

But Lazarus hadn't died at all. I shall be showing this in a future thread. LOL, you can fudge and shuffle the dates as much as you like but even someone as thick and stupid as you cannot deny that the gospels were tampered with. i.e. they have been added to and and taken away from.

Off you go now.

Very nice. I was going to get around to all the amendments and alterations and expunging that no doubt has happened to this "Holy Book" since revelation is said to have been written...

Such as the timing of the Ascension, details of Judas's death, and accounts of Paul's conversion and much more.

You have practically saved me the trouble.

Thank you

Note the warning in Revelation 22:18-19 was written decades after the Gospels and even the Gospel of John was written. You are taking the verses out of context and out of its chronological order.

In Revelation 22:18-19 we are warned

John was not warning about more than just Revelation. When he wrote it, there was no "Bible;" there were separate scrolls, and not a single scroll from which we have translations exists today. That's the nature of paper/papyrus; it lasts hundreds, not thousands of years.

So, John's warring applies to his book, alone. He had no idea his scroll would one day be part of a collection in a single volume, nor that his would be the last in the collection. I'm not saying that anything should be added or subtracted from the other books, but I tire of uneducated claims.

That is not true.

The Book of Revelation was written after the four Gospels, with the vast majority of scholars dating it to approximately

95–96 AD during the reign of Roman Emperor Domitian. While the Gospels were written between roughly 70–95 AD (Mark being the earliest), Revelation serves as one of the final, closing texts of the New Testament.

That'll be Revelation. Hence the reason for my first question on this thread>>> So the question is; does this warning apply to everything that is written in the BIBLE? But that bone head calling himself "Debby" disagrees with you entirely.

Gods Warning Given To John.

 I tire of uneducated claims.

Me too! Such as making "DEAD" people come back to life after rotting and stinking for three or more days?.

Walking on water.?

Making people instantly drop down "dead" because they held funds back from the movement?

Healing people with words alone, is that the kind of "uneducated claims" you are talking about.?

So the question is; does this warning apply to everything that is written in the BIBLE? But that bone head calling himself "Debby" disagrees with you entirely.

While often applied to the entire Bible, this warning is specifically directed at the Book of Revelation to protect its message.

The Bible was already written. This warning was to protect the integrity of the entire Bible.

Revelation 22:18-19 (often cited in this context) delivers a severe warning against altering the prophetic book, threatening that

anyone who adds to it will face the plagues described within, while anyone who removes words will lose their share in the Tree of Life and the Holy City. It emphasizes the integrity and finality of God's word, warning against distorting the text.

Key Aspects of the Warning:

  1. The Warning: If anyone adds to the prophecy, God will add the plagues described in the book to them.
  2. The Penalty: If anyone takes away from the words, God will remove their share in the tree of life and the holy city.
  3. Context: While often applied to the entire Bible, this warning is specifically directed at the Book of Revelation to protect its message.
  4. Purpose: The warning is to prevent tampering, watering down, or distorting the prophecy.
  5. GotQuestions.org +6

This passage acts as a final, solemn seal on the Book of Revelation, highlighting the serious consequences of tampering with divine revelation.

LOL you really are a twat. You have spent nearly 20 posts on another thread arguing and swerving and obfuscating as to weather or not the warning written in John's revelation applied to only John or the bible as a whole, where you finally told us that it applies to all of the bible.

And only now on this thread do you tell us this:

Part of the miracle of raising people from the dead as was Lazarus is that this is a different matter than resurrecti0on, which had not yet occurred but the Jesus was resurrected. Raising the dead includes, in that miracle, a cleansing of the rot that begins to occur upon death so that the newly living person does not stink. That's my belief, anyway.

Walking on waters a miracle that demonstrates that such is not magic, but application of natural law. My guess is that the bun want space normally separating separate atoms of matter draw closer together such that the do not displace so readily as does the mass of a person compared to the mass of a body of water.

Making people drop dead - sorry, I know that has happened, but I don't recall a specific instance of it, but I do know that such is an act of faith against people who express no faith, which is an element of the transaction of offering a tithe for the benefit of others.

Healing others by word, alone, isn't just "by word alone." It, too, is an act of faith, which cannot operate in a conditi0on of doubt, nor can it ion a conditi0n of feeling anything by compassion for those assisted by acting n faith. Faith is godly power for good. It cannot be successfully applied by evil intent.

Indeed , in that Lazarus wasn't "dead" or had he died at all. And there was no "miracle" involved?

Neither was the daughter of Jairus nor was the widow's son of Nain.

These raisings were nothing more than ritualistic ceremonies as in a religious ceremonial rite. They were a promotional raising to a higher degree in the Jesus movement. Which I believe the bible itself proves. And which I intend to show.

Death was a known factor in ancient times. meaning pre B.C.E., by observed lack of breathing and lack of pulse, and then, in a matter of days counted on one hand, particularly in a warm-to-hot environment, the beginning of rot and associated odor. Lazarus and the others were known to be dead by these factors.

Those factors may well have been the case when a person was really "dead" in the biological sense, faux.

Read your own posts. You keep finding contradictions in the Bible when there are non. You mistranslate verses in the Bible by twisting its original meaning with your substitution, you try to change the meaning of the text by adding your own interpretation.

Read what the Bible says about people like you.

That's because they are not hard to spot when read for yourself. And of course with a reasonably good memory and an eye for details, they practically leap form its pages. and there are plenty more than just the handful I have posted here on this forum.

Here's' one that you might like , this is from memory too. In Matthew, Mark and Luke, the last supper is on the first day of Passover. But in John's gospel it takes place a day earlier and Jesus is crucified on the first day of Passover.

Do you see the fkn GLAAARING problem here thicko!? Of course you don't. You're just too stupid.

Despite these differences in timing, all four gospels agree that the Crucifixion occurred on a Friday.

The last supper was a private moment. The crucifixion was a public event with more scrutiny. Remember alcohol was served during the last supper and that could have clouded the disciples recollection.

Tell me thicko, what is the reason for baptism?

People get baptized as a public declaration of their faith in Jesus Christ, symbolizing an inward spiritual cleansing, the forgiveness of sins, and the beginning of a new life. It acts as an outward sign of obedience to Jesus' command, representing being buried with Him in death and raised with Him in resurrection.

Keeping in mind that there were no Christians in Jesus' time and that Jesus was a full blown Jew, is that the reason given in the bible.
