So now I have to rethink the game because the first post clearly states they rejected but then they change the story in 174. That long ass post was dropped 7 minutes after the DP got posted. Seems sort of pre planned

Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
I got a message stating that I had an opportunity to sign a contract and unlock a previously hidden ability. I initially accepted it not thinking twice however when I read up on the character I realized this was probably an alignment changing role. I attempted to back out and was told it was too late; however that point was moot because the contract failed to go through.
this is exactly what I extrapolated from Kohai’s first post. There is no contradiction.
I still don’t know what to type!
Will get caught up later tonight. Let me take this time to say hiss to everyone who accepted or tried to accept the contract, I always knew you were red lightsaber Slytherin Lannister hail-Hydra One-Ring-humping bitches.
Didn't you say earlier that you rejected it? Did you lie? Why? It sounds like mechanically you accepted it.
Did you not read my original post:
Kyubey targeted me asking me to enter in a contract. I had a feeling this was an alignment changing role. I was intreagued so I initally accepted the offer but then retracted it after reading up on it (though it wouldn't have mattered anyway as the contract ended up failing). It was mod confirmed to me that this was an alignment changing role. We are dealing with a cult or a recruiter.
"Kohai, your entrance to the thread was legendary, you had a solve and a winning PoE right when you showed up, super impressive stuff, even more so considering it wasn't even your objective!!" - Zrein
But there was never anything about being too late

There was never anything that was said about the change not going through…
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
I asked Thoth the question in PM. If anyone else did sorry but need to get this down. These 2 posts contradict each other
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
Also even if the argument you make is that we all just assumed that Kohai rejected the offer that they were given, the minute someone stated they rejected it and when I said it this should’ve been a trigger to them to clarify there post, even right before. Not wait a whole 12 hours to post and now clarify. It seems like trying to backtrack from a mistake they made
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
It's because my theory mostly hinges on Kohai's behavior (as Casey/Mikal has been pretty inactive), and that Kohai himself is a spent force and keeping him around doesn't really have utility to town, while Mikal has some sort of role that he's hinted at. I'm not ruling out Kohai as recruiter, I just think his behavior is very off and that it fits more to a 'recruited' framework. Also, we have two days of behavior for the recruit as well - I've found recruits to be easier to spot because there are behavioral discrepancies. If they were scum-reading the recruiter, they will need to pivot. They may need to shift FOS onto the people that scum now want to eliminate. It can look like a lot of post hoc rationalization which clashes with their DP1 analysis. The recruiter has known that they are scum the whole game and so can play much more consistently.
Just eliminating Kohai because he doesn't have an active role to use seems excessive. I also don't believe Kohai is likely to be the recruiter, but that'll be a subject for my longer post later. It's possible he was recruited, and that much I'm still considering, but again I don't think the recruit should be our focus in this DP.
Part of the reason for that is that I disagree we'll see much in the way of behavioral discrepancies this DP. The recruit is relatively safe in their claim at this point. The only possibility is that they could have used some night action that gave them away, and given that no one has spoken up about that, I doubt we can garner that kind of information this DP. Changes in behavior should be noted, but they're unlikely to be dramatic.
I doubt we can garner that kind of information this DP.
Honestly I think we've gotten as far as we would get in this day phase. People need to start claiming character so we can get somewhere.

There's nothing about a hidden ability in my role card. If you need to accept Kyubey's offer to get one, I guess that makes sense.
Thoth won't tell me definitively for whatever reason, but my guess is I'm not recruitable because I'm a boy. The creepy rabbit only seems interested in luring young women into questionable life choices.
That does track with Kyuubey's efforts, yes. Not a lot of characters who are boys in this series, so that locks you into one of a couple pretty solidly.
I’d much rather prefer Mikal to at clarify the type of role he is. If he can at least do that then I will be satisfied and explain what I was trying to say
Fair. Glad we've got extra time for him to get on and clarify.
I also want to point this out I can be totally wrong. With this many affil changing actions, and then with the 50/50 of success and failure. I would not be shocked if scum potentially had NO killing roles. Because if it’s a 50/50, and 1/2 the people said yes to the recruit, the game is over. Extremely bastard but I am not ruling that out
Wouldn't be a first to have a game where the recruitment mechanic was a substitute for an NK. As for the success/failure rate, I agree it would be pretty bastard for there to be so many possible recruits. Don't think Thoth is running that.

This is what's bothering me the most about this setup. How tf did everyone get a contract request? This setup is already extremely bastard by my standards and everyone knows how much I hate bastard games unless they're announced as such at the beginning

Yeah, this seems consistent to me.

Been saying for a while that I'm fine with character claiming if that's what we decide to do. I'll volunteer to go first, but we have to have enough people onboard for how we're going about it.

It does track for the character at least - Kyuubey's not super selective about who he targets - but yeah, the decision to create a mechanic where you try to recruit everyone simultaneously is beyond me. There may be something more to it, I just have no idea what.

I would really like you to go first esp since you're my top sr and I already claimed

Can't do nested quotes. We had that impression for a reason. Your recorded whether everyone else accepted or rejected in the lists which you maintained but left yours nebulous, you accused me of scum slipping when I came out and said that I accepted it, but it failed, when you yourself accepted it and (according to you) received the same message. On what planet would me claiming to have accepted and it failing, and my saying that in the DP, be seen as scummy by someone who was town and did the exact same thing?
Poste #61:
whiteflame - Got recruitment offer
Mag1cman - Madoka, received contract offer
ILikePie5 - Received recruitment offer and rejected
Kohai - hitomi - emissary - received recruitment offer
RexFavilla - Accepted recruitment offer but did not go through
Vader - Received contract offer for hidden abilities, targeted Mikal
Wryly - Unrecruitable
Mikal (substitute for Casey_Risk) received offfer, accepted, did not go through
If this is how it worked for you, and you claim to have explained that in the first post, why would you not state the same thing on the list which you maintained for yourself as you did for those who also did that?
VTL Kohai
I agree with this
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
This is literally the biggest stretch I have ever seen in my life. At this point I'm almost convinced you are scum hoping for an easy mislynch. I wasn't as thorough with my claim list as I should be. Notice also I didn't add magic's claim that he accepted it but didn't go through. The list wasn't supposed to be extremely comprehensive, but just enough to keep track of basic claims.

If I was actually scum here I would never volunteer as much information as I did on the very first post of day 2. That would be way too risky for someone who is scum.

I feel like I’m going insane that people aren’t seeing what I’m seeing

It’s implied when he says the contract failed. He could’ve been more clear, it doesn’t need to be said explicitly to be recognized.
I still don’t know what to type!
Vote count?
I still don’t know what to type!
No no that’s not what he said. He said it was too late to make a decision and the mod even clarified that and said it’s an important part in the plot with NO take backs. That is complete different not implied. That’s withholding info and skewing info
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
Look. My position on Kohai is that he has a million scummy red flags… yet my gut says it’s wrong. I’m ultimately going to trust my brain, but that doesn’t invalidate my gut feelings. Our intuition exists to tell our minds to rethink.
I still don’t know what to type!
Please explain what it is I’m seeing
"Kohai, your entrance to the thread was legendary, you had a solve and a winning PoE right when you showed up, super impressive stuff, even more so considering it wasn't even your objective!!" - Zrein
idk man, the withheld information was obvious to me when I read the original post
I still don’t know what to type!
You never implied or even suggested that you could not take back your offer at all or implied it in the post. When everyone was saying you rejected the offer I did not see you really take a stand against those arguments
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
It isn’t. Pie said his POE came down to who accepted the offer and Kohai wasn’t on there so he clearly thought otherwise. Unless you think they are both a team. It’s not adding up. And even then, that’s such a critical piece of info to leave or let people assume
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
I would really like you to go first esp since you're my top sr and I already claimed
Like I said, if we can get any kind of agreement on character claiming, I’m good with going first.
