Madoka Magica - Episode 3

Last night I elected to not use an action. My role is a 2x and felt it could have more use late game than in an useless NP2

In her last moments, Madoka became a witch, ꀘꋪꀤꍟꂵꃅꀤ꒒ꀸ ꁅꋪꍟ꓄ꉓꃅꍟꈤ.

Her labyrinth has formed around a randomly chosen non-Mafia player. This player does not know who they are.

The Mafia have been told who they are and must defeat the witch by lynching this player today. If they succeed, they will gain their choice of one the abilities that Madoka would have gained if she became a magical girl, which may be used tonight only: 1x Permanent Roleblock, 1x Rolecop. They may not choose an ability that they already gained somehow.

If another player is lynched, a randomly chosen Town player will receive their choice of one of these abilities, which may be used tonight only. This player may or may not be the player around whom the witch's labyrinth formed.

The witch lusts for blood. If the day ends in a no-lynch, Mafia may use both of these abilities tonight, even if they gained the ability before.

Not like we were gonna no lynch anyway lol

Ah, that's an interesting way to incorporate witches into the game.

So we won't know who scum's lynch target is and, since it's randomized, we only know it's a town player. It's a cool mechanic and it would be great if we got a Role Cop. If we lynch scum, someone in town will automatically get it.

I guess we should be on the lookout for players who are suddenly keen on VTLing someone in particular

Damn can't believe this game started midnight after Thanksgiving. Y'all are crazy, take a break. I'm Junko Kaname, I'm the mom of Madoka and Tatsuya. I'm an office worker who often gives advice to her children which implies that I know more than they might think.

I'm the contract cop. I can target a player and learn whether they accepted a witch contract. NP1 I targeted Kohai and had him on my scum list the second he didn't come straight out and say that he accepted, didn't put himself down on his own list as having accepted it, then scumread me after saying that I accepted it. Last night I targeted Magic and learned that he declined, but that's kind of useless information now. The theory I've been going off of is that the person who lied about accepting the contract is probably the one who actually became scum. This is part of why I am so locked in on Kohai as the convert. I targeted Magic because I genuinely did not think that Pie would choose to be scum in this game but I don't know Magic as well. If Pie is scum I'm 99% certain he is OG scum, not the convert.

One weak point in the claim, possibly a second one as well:

1. Both results are public knowledge at the time of this claim.
2. @Whiteflame, was Junko offered a contract, or may have been offered one in the past, in the show/movie? I don’t see anything about it in the wiki. At least for Hitomi, there was a writer’s comment on what her wish would’ve been. I can understand some lore stretching for the game mechanics, but I want to know how far of a stretch this would be.

I haven’t give justification yet.

Her father kills his family and himself, except for her. She’s made an orphan and forced to develop street smarts, making her more observant of the world around her. Hence inspector.

I like this decision from Vader

Right now I’d probably say my top scumread is Vader. The Redirector doesn’t make much sense here from a town perspective. It just seems like negative utility that should be waived every night.

I absolutely hate the fact that Supa didn’t use his ability last night. He could’ve redirected who he thought was scum onto someone he also thought could be scum. He could’ve verified WF’s role as well. Doesn’t make sense to waive here. The Contract Cop and Inspector make sense together. Doctor is flipped. Wryly is behaviorally very town.

Actually, I just realized something

I think there is a confirmed OG scum in Vader/Whiteflame. The headache a mod would have to deal with if Vader redirected Doctor or Inspector to Ascetic just doesn’t make sense from a game design perspective especially if Thoth is counting a Redirector as having two visits
