So to be blunt I think CFD's are a bad play in general. I have accepted that they do exist so I try to preface their existence allowing for positions to be taken prior to them happening at this point. Nothing is more worthless than a town flip D1 from a CFD where nobody took real stances on that player (Which I have seen over and over and over)

Can we just lunch someone and move on with our lives? I'm down for Thoth, Max, Alyssa, Pie, or Banana

i am on my way home from the second Seder and have four more cups of wine in me. Did a quick skim. A few things come in mind

1) I really really hate the idea of blindly lynching someone because they’re a zero poster.

2) Thoth remains my strongest TR

3) Strongest TRs: Wylted, Lunatic, Pie, and Mag1c.

Im against ending the day. I want to see more from our sleepers and I want to see what Alyssa has to say when they engage.

I am very critical of this specifically. One of the things I have not directly called out about them but there is MASSIVE benefit for scum to know who was recruited and has activated abilities. Its between poor town play and absolute opportunistic scum play to pressure wylted for their recruitments. We should lock down public knowledge of these factors until we are in the mid/late game with a blatant cost/benefit evaluation of such knowledge being public.

i honestly had forgotten about this. I felt it would be good to claim in the event that one of the recruiters dies. We can see exactly who was in their guild especially if they managed to make an all scum guild.

No NK NP1 is a good reason to not lynch yet! We'll have more information tomorrow on which to base our decision!

Home now (the interview went pretty well, thanks for asking). Analysis to follow:

Mestari

I already mentioned a brief conclusion of my read on him in an earlier post, but I'm fine elaborating on it.

Important context to understand is that yeah, I'd like to think I know Mestari decently well, both on a personal level and on a mafia-related level. We've played multiple games together in a variety of affiliation set ups, we've talked about the game pretty extensively outside of playing it. We've hydra'd together. I won't say we see eye to eye on how the game should be played, but I have a decent understanding of how he approaches the game.

My read on Mestari is primarily vibes based at this point and that's due almost entirely to suspicion. I've been a fan of most of the things Mestari has said so far in the DP, and if I were to evaluate this game in a vacuum with name plates turned off, my read on that slot would be a step under Luna and Wylted. But I'm also intimately aware of just how large Mestari's range is as a player in terms of town behavior vs. scum behavior. He very much is a player capable of emulating his town behavior as scum, so on a personal level I have to temper that a bit. Do I think this DP is an instance of him emulating his town behavior rather than being authentic? Gun to my head, no I think he's probably being authentic. But Tim's a skilled enough player that I'm not going to assume it as a given.

I get the argument that Mestari is making here and for the most part I think it has merit. If most of the game is locked behind not being recruited into a guild yet, we should focus on enabling town PRs, which makes sense given that the large lobby is gonna mean we have a longer game length. Personally undecided if that outweighs the value of guiding existing PRs through the info we gain from a flip, or if both plans can't coexist to some extent, but I'm willing to believe that Mestari's put more thought into his statement than I have and that he wouldn't say it if it didn't benefit him. Given that I'm leaning town on him, things that benefit him probably benefit town too.

Guild recruitment

Generally a fan of leaders staying mum about who they've recruited unless it's absolutely critical to reveal that information. Think pressuring guild leaders to either reveal who they attempted to recruit or who they plan to recruit is just painting targets for scum if they want to slow down recruitment.

i'll go re-read it now, but purely off memory I'd say that there's some scum reasoning for Thoth to want to resist claiming in that scenario if he needed more time to decide on a fake-claim or coordinate with the rest of the scum team. If you want more specific than that, give me a bit to re-read it.

I'm pro-ending the day. There'll be no NK tonight, meaning that tomorrow we'll have the same roster (minus our lynch target if we do that) and the game will have progressed relatively little.
