So my view is that I want players to take hard stances against other players so post flip we can look back and examine who was for or against a lynch that resulted in a Mafia/Town being killed.

I want that information very very much. Its what gives the flip any value. If we are not going to do that lets just vote to skip.

And we have lurkers who have basically given nothing in any way and I hate that. I want to hear them take positions on slots. Until they do so they are utterly worthless. The more hard positions players take on slots the more I can tear this game apart. Might be useless information to you but there is no loss letting the game go on to allow that information to come out and I very much want it.

Even if a player does not see any value in D1 and has no ability to hunt in D1 forcing them to take 'a position' holds value. This is the entire creation of mafia that hidden information could be identified within groups as positions are taken. For a history lesson Dimitry Davidoff was the founder of the concept of mafia using the format as an exercise to show in psychology how hidden information could be identified. Students ran with it and created Mafia/Werewolf

But the crux of his entire doctorate level class was that the difference exists and patterns reflect things. Was a foundation of sociometrics and other factors I will not bore you with explaining.

But 100% we should demand people take positions and lock them into those positions so we can post flip assign value to what their position was and nail down the fake reasoning. This is the core of mafia imo.

To clarify literally does not even matter how good or bad their reasoning is. Just them taking a position reflects patterns that can be identified.

Also I will say that this is my biggest gripe with our site’s meta. If you go through our games 90% of town wins were solved based on mech and character claims. Seriously. Town won the debate craft player’s mafia game because of how goddamn retarded wryly’s and magoroth’s fake claims were

I think this is healthy. If we get players to post a towncore or POE lynch pool we will have very strong material to work with later.

If I were in Alyssa's shoes when she defended me, I probably would have said something like, "Yeah, that explanation sounds stupid, but people make mistakes [and if I knew my reputation, I'd add something like, "It's Thoth, he gets near-lynch-experiences from things like this all the time]." I don't know Alyssa well enough to say that she wouldn't have suggested an alternative explanation if she were my scummate or town legitimately defending me.

I'm clueless as to why Alyssa mounted that defense, but it also doesn't make sense to me as something she would say as scum. If she's scum and you're town, she knows she doesn't have to worry that you flipping scum would implicate her. If you're both scum she'd never say something so transparent and susworthy.
