Solo Leveling Mafia - DP1

I am still mostly leaning towards lynching thoth. I want to wait for the inactives to post reads before we do. Anyways I'll be here keeping track of things in the mean time but I don't wanna spam post too much to make it harder for people like airmax to catch up. I'll spew most of my thoughts in the mason thread for now.

Also heads up: It probably wasn't tactically sound for me to expose my recruit targets. I did so with out talking to them thinking giving town more information would help. I stand by the decision to out my guild leader thing, but yeah in the future I am going to not say who my recruit targets are unless its absolutely necessary (IE they are getting lynched or something). Also wylted not complying to ousting his other recruit puts me in a weird compromised position where his guild has equal footing and technically and advantage now. So yeah no more spreading information about my guild.

I'm sick of people bitching about theme analysis and claim analysis and mechanics analysis. They're valid forms of investigation and game progression. If you love behavioral reads so much why don't you go blow one

I'd have to think about it some more to classify everyone, but right now I'd group players into:

Townlock by guild-leader claim: Lunatic, wylted

Strong town by behavior: Helz

Good gutreads: WF, Mestari, Mag1c

Bad gutreads without concrete evidence: Pie, Casey, Wryly (I've been very wrong about scum gutreads on Wryly, though)

Lean scum: Kohai, I don't like his claim.

Somewhat harder scumlean: Alyssa

Inactive pool: Vader, Shining, Airmax, Banana

No verdict: Rex

I'll keep updating my list throughout the rest of the day, with explanations for changes. Helz jumped to the top of my town pool for being insistent on this.

Theme and claim analysis are as valid as the game makes them. If you want our meta to move away from them, you should pressure moderators to design games that reward them less.

I'm clueless as to why Alyssa mounted that defense, but it also doesn't make sense to me as something she would say as scum. If she's scum and you're town, she knows she doesn't have to worry that you flipping scum would implicate her. If you're both scum she'd never say something so transparent and susworthy.

I'm 50/50 between her reaction being scum trying to pocket me and town honestly defending me. Saving a wagon target is a great way to earn their trust.

You are beating yourself up way too hard about this. I realize this is a joke but seriously you weren't even bad in that one. You kind of got screwed over by accident. Your behavior had nothing really to do with you being caught. Most people were town reading you and many wanted only to lynch you because of the mechanical inconsistency of the carol that you in the end turned out to not even be lying about! lol.

My ability is more than a simple mason recruit. It's literally a factor in determining my win condition. Meaning I not only need to have a bigger group then wylted to even be eligible to win, I can't have any mafia inside this group either. So it makes literally no sense to recruit people who I scum read unless I wanted to actually game throw, because if he is lying about being unrecruitable, we learn the same thing we do from just straight up lynching him.

Also, I didn't wanna say this because I know it would set thoth off on an "I told you so rant" but I 100% agree with whiteflame that his claim isn't all that great. Jin Woo's is a major character, but she doesn't really align with what the theme seems to be. Like in this universe there is no reason a guild would recruit her, shes a basic human with no powers. I don't get the role justification because she isn't unrecruitable for any power related reason, she's unrecruitable because she would be absolutely useless to any guild. She shouldn't be anything other than a vanilla in this type of a set up. And the scum slip is too much to overlook as well.

Well up front I would be very interested in hearing what your takes are. Top 3 scum and top 3 town with reasoning (excluding the obvious 2 confirmed town)

Just had a thought: Before my claim Thoth seemed to hint he knew some players may have themselves as their character. This is verified by my claim. That said how would he know this based on his claim?
