Because canonically, that's what happens in the show. As I've mentioned multiple times, canonically, Sung Jin-woo joins the battle in the end. I'm being given chances to avoid engaging with the Guilds, that's it.

That overview is largely correct. SJW has used this ability on two humans so far in the anime, one of whom he’s released. He’s used it on far more monsters. That being said, two points.

First, from a game balance perspective, allowing me to gain roles from scum (especially looking at the Ant Queen flip) would unbalance the game.

Second, what incentive would I have to lie about this? This information is something you looked up easily and it’s something I know all too well. If there’s value in concealing the ability to pick up scum roles, I’d love to hear what it is.

As to the second, I'm still pondering. As to the first, that would be fairly easy to compensate for by placing a few restrictions on your power.

I'm mostly thrown as to why you've been such a stickler for theme consistency this game if your own role diverges widely from how your character behaves canonically.
