I almost don't want to lynch Banana now. If there's not bus driver the case against he becomes much less ironclad.

Yeah I was really thinking it made no sense for her to be an NK target because if they have a Bus Driver they could just kill Pie. But if they don't have one, targeting someone with a low probability of being doctored makes more sense.

So Shining should’ve been lynched last DP because Helz had a point in his favor, and Pie could’ve continued to hold out on being the Guild Leader because he could’ve just claimed to be in the other Guild and have Mag1c or me confirm that. A role that could have been a big help to town ended up being negative utility because we didn’t understand how to interpret your results and thought you were being actively manipulated. It would still have been possible that your role had been fucked with, but knowing this would have given us something useful and likely led you to use your role NP3 instead of trying for the recruit.

Just… FML.

Thoughts on a few people (Everyone not mentioned is not relevant for today)

Shining

So I've never liked Shining since he had no thoughts on Thoth. I know he's said he has trouble focusing, but as someone in the same boat, I can give a basic, one-sentence thought when asked for a brief judgment. Since Thoth has flipped scum, not having even the slightest thought that there is egregious. Now he did push Alyssa sure, but that's after Thoth's flip. I see nothing in there that can't just be distancing away from a doomed teammate. Sideyeing p232 DP2. I don't buy the argument that bussing Alyssa p520 is ballsy, either, given Alyssa has self-voted at that point.

As discussed, the claim is bad. 1x is strange and the justification for the role is outlandish. Nothing of else substance DP3. The anger in this DP doesn't really move me one way or the other. I will refute #766: Is it any worse than claiming Godot's love of coffee as justification for him being strengthener back Ace Attorney Mafia? We've already seen from this game that two of the fake claims from scum were bad. That alone has me shrinking my POE down to Shining, Banana, Kohai, Awesome, and Wryly (NOTE: Wryly gets removed from POE on claim + behavior later).

Shining is also good for information. I think his relationships with two other players in this game (Banana and Kohai) has been consistently combative throughout this game. It doesn't strike me as a distancing play because they've at each other's throats the whole game. Hard for me to articulate but there's a certain vibe when two players really aren't paired. And when the rubber has hit the road, they've all seemed quite willing to go for each other, without pause.

If SHining is scum, it should all but townlock Banana and Kohai. If town, the odds of both being scum go up drastically in my book.

Banana

Compare this with Banana, who has had thoughts to give on everyone all game long. They're not impressive, but it's better than what Shining has had to offer. More importantly, I can see her thought process in her posts, even if it isn't mine. It feels more genuine. Take for example her swtich-up on Helz at the last second. The move itself is offputting. But her justification for it makes sense. She has been in Helz's situation before, and she does normally focus on the emotions of others when reading them. I've been townreading her for most of this game. I can see the argument for lynching her, but I find town Banana more believable than town Shining on behavior.

On mechanics, it's not set in stone that Pie jailkeeping Banana is what blocked the night kill. Vader protected Pie, and while it's likely mafia has a strongman, it's not a guarantee they used it. For example, they could've used an ability that messes with investigatives, as those are still likely in the game imo. It's a fair point against her, but not to the degree that she's scumlocked.

Lastly I don't think the claim is as bad as everyone says. Mikal gave names that were alternative to the roles for everyone. I don't see why he can't give a role with one word in it, either.

Rex

So I had a whole section on him typed about how he still could be the real mole. But as it turns out, Wryly's role turns in a guilty result to anyone opposed to her guild wincon, which would definitely include other guilds. So now I go back to my behavior thoughts on him. I saw nothing wrong with him at any point this game and this DP and the last only reinforces it. I felt his progression on Helz was reasonable, going from being protective of his guild to actually hearing Pie out, to scumreading Helz off the given information. This DP is more of the same. i don't agree that Banana is lock scum but his approach to the issue is reasonable, just like everything else this game.

He's also the only claimed negative utility in this game, so I can buy that.

Wryly

I'm annoyed Wryly didn't clarify her role last DP, but I honestly buy that her cop is nerfed in some way. All the claimed investigatives have a way in which their role is nerfed. I've liked her behaviorally and this honestly strenghtens my town read of her.

Kohai

Kohai I feel is high on my scum list. But, his wagon analysis is something I actually quite like. Still, all the stuff from DP1 and 2 rub me the wrong way. I am down for him to take a backseat here because Shining is just information-rich at this point.

Clarify my role last DP how??

Oh we just had to reveal Whiteflame's role. Great. Love it. I know we were planning on massclaiming but I don't see a reason why it needed to be completed today when Shining and Banana are our choices for today.

You never told us that you could get a guilty result for someone on the opposite guild. Granted I was misreading Helz behaviorally, but it would've been good to know last DP. It's frustrating but it's not outright scummy behaviorally, and mechanically it has me townreading you more.

Also, I'm not too concerned with Mestari faking being silenced. Doesn't change my townread of him, if anything there's no chance scum would ditch and expose their own silencer gambit. If you want my thoughts on Awesome, ISO me, you'll see it in previous DPs- those haven't really changed.

I'm aware you had a main justification but 1."Love of coffee" was unnecessary to tack on and 2. irrelevant to the story of Ace Attorney.
