Somewhat feel bad for lynching Helz, because as I told Mikal I knew I was leading a mislynch. I just deliberately wanted to lynch someone in a guild to try to screw the guild over enough to hopefully stop the guild pvp mentality.

That kind if reignited it lol. What really killed it was both sides wifoming about who recruited you imo, and the other options being scummy.
Yeah I saw that. Tbh the guild wincon mechanic really killed a lot of my interest in the game. Like I mentioned early on, when I saw it I considered immediately replacing out. When it became an obvious issue DP3 I kinda mentally checked out.
People mentioned me not trying as hard or just sitting back watching DP3 and a large part of it was that I felt we were dealing with a mech that fundamentally undermines the core concepts of Mafia
I think Magic trying to confirm Kohai was a mistake. After Banana even if we went Whiteflame then Magic has forcefully reinserted himself into the POE. I know he thought he could get a mislynch on me, but even overworked I don't think you want to put yourself on the block with me when I have my do-or-die enthusiasm kick. Mestari at Mylo/Lylo is a different person.
We also caught Banana because of Pie's jailkeep, and Pie turtling on the last NP would probably have caught Mag1c as well.
I definitely give Mestari credit for the catch, but Pie was pretty instrumental in the win.
I also called Banana DP1 lol
I didn’t have a choice in the matter. I would’ve been mega sussed for not doing it, Pie was directing night actions.
I still don’t know what to type!
Anyway for most of the game I was townread. I do feel odds of victory were real good if it weren’t for the slip at the start of the game. Next time I roll scum yall are cooked.
I still don’t know what to type!
Could you still joint win with town if scum were eliminated or what?
Yes.
Finally broke the streak of being scum lol
I’d say it would have had to happen eventually, but I don’t want to jinx it.

Sure but it was a blanket read for the poison gambit. Once it comes down to Lylo and Mylo the free passes go away
I also called Banana DP1 lol
Yeah, Pie did lots of work and also kept the gears going well after I got drowned with work and unenthusiasm.
I wouldn’t have even done the poison gambit had Zaradi and Thoth not gone down early. I had more than enough ways of getting myself townread in that world.
I still don’t know what to type!
Reads are a fickle thing. It is very productive to hand a few town reads out early. Narrow the scope of your investigations. Choose some people to collaborate with. There doesn't have to be reason to townread them. You can always and should always revisit them later.
You did a fantastic job appearing townie. Doubted myself up until the moment I saw your flip.
Out of curiosity, were you really miffed that Helz was getting a raw deal or was that an act?
ya was hoping to get town cred for it
If someone were to host a themeless game with 5 day long DPs I'd probably hop in.
Yeah, I thought Banana did well, I second-guessed her so many times.
ty but yeah the poe was gonna do me in no matter what

so ya i didnt even carry out the kill that night magic did lol. i used a vanillizer on supa to remove his doc, but pies jailkeep over-rode it for some reason, so the vader protection went through preventing the kill.
its why it was annoying to defend myself against that logic lol it was actually a pie kill! either way i was probly doomed because there was nothing to really confirm me and no one recruited me so yea i wasnt gonna live long either way
That was a pretty fun game. I enjoyed playing with you guys.
I feel that the game was rather scum sided 'if' town actually played for their guild win cons. One thing I would change in the future is playing with that dynamic in some way. Simply changing the alignment name with a designated win con of being able to win with the town would accomplish the exact same balance while turning the game into a somewhat complex multiball. Outside of that I feel scum still would have a slight advantage if town did not have the divided alignment function. Things like the alignment result change as guilds looked at etch other was a pretty wild function that easily could have gotten people killed. Not to mention town role blocking entire chunks of their team in guilds yet unknown to them it would not role block Mafia members. There were a lot of factors hard slanted to favor scum in the game from what I am looking at that could have easily been crippling.
Some of the other mechanics were really cool. I have rarely ever seen a role that can modify the day/night cycle timing for example.
-Developing PR's is something I love from a balance standpoint. That also places a crazy dynamic where if the scum team wants to deep bus and kill their own they have incentive to do so on a specific slot opening up for more complex team play.
-The false results on guilds looking at etchother I did not really care for. Could have had its place in balance but felt a bit extra and slightly low tier bastard. Imo that should have been disclosed to guild leaders or something for the WIFOM but if it was that would have been a really cool mechanic shifting results from mech confirmed to a probability of being correct in players minds opening the door for more lies and deception.
-The way the guilds functioned were pretty awesome. Neighborhoods with special functions that could be pure or not allowing for a lot of complex play. I particularly liked how Pie's guild handled the fake leader reveal. That was very clever and well done by their team imo.
So for my 2 cents a few things I absolutely fucking hated
-Dead people posting in the game thread? Fucking Whyyyy. Do I even need to explain?
-The lack of an OoO? I have absolutely no clue how this sites meta is so mech dependent and you guys do not have hard designated OoO's prior to games start. Thats insanely critical in breaking down mech analysis and catching slips. Honestly should be an absolute hard obligation prior to a game starting that one exists because without it hosts may end up deciding what order to process actions as the game goes making it an absolute bastard level where the host can directly alter the game.
-The OOG fake mafia slip pre game? That was super angleshooty and it had a very substantial impact on D1 harming game integrity.
-The walls of nicknames and stuff. God that was painful to deal with. Everyone has like a current account name and an old one and a real life name and a nickname and an abbreviation? Who the fuck is Tim? I duno; and at a certain point I shrugged and glossed over chunks of information I would not have if I was actually trying hard because it was just such a pain to deal with that. It was not even until the end of D1 that I had my notes properly established because I was so confused on who is even in the game with the hosts player list referencing names I could not possibly associate with accounts. If this community grows that should certainly change.
If I had a vote on MVP
-I would say Mestari was the most impactful player on the game nailing that slip. Thoth had a point that the slip actually came from Mag1cian but it was a lucky level of right that sent the Mafia into a tailspin.
-Pie was the most impactful on the mech side. Solid actions that shifted the game substantially. Even with the hard run of town getting scum after scum the game could have very easily and quickly been lost if not for their choice of actions. (also why I agree the game was scum sided for balance)
-Mag1cMan would be my MVP vote. They showed great control over the external perception of them and had some strong plays. Getting hard town cred with the poison claim and getting the doc to out themselves was a damn solid play and they managed to shade where they needed to shoving eliminations without really taking the spotlight for doing so. Outstanding manipulation imo. I do think they strongly contributed to my elimination with vague connotations that nobody ever bothered to look at post flip. Also had the experience to know when they were mechanically boxed in and there was no point in dragging the game out. Solid play all around in rough situations. I can only imagine the Mafia team was rather demoralized from the get go and it only got worse as Pie slammed them with critical night actions.
You guys can go fuck yourself lol. I told y'all my claiming isn't that bad.
Idk how this always happens to you
Few questions, if you would.
Why claim to be unrecruitable?
Were you given Jinwoo's sister as a fake claim?
Why the fake Jinwoo POE?
Why put the people in it that you did? Alyssa, Rex, Helz?
so ya i didnt even carry out the kill that night magic did lol. i used a vanillizer on supa to remove his doc, but pies jailkeep over-rode it for some reason, so the vader protection went through preventing the kill.

Oh wow lol. Definitely didn't consider something like that.
Have to agree with you about the guilds-affecting-results thing. Felt like a Cop being inhibited by guild recruitment was punishment enough, though I get that Mikal tried to balance out that mechanic with lots of investigatives. Seems like it was designed to get a townie killed.
Some other things:
Kohai is working on a feature that will prevent necroposting, so that should sort your concern there. Thoth's dead posts were always harmless though.
On this site you only find out order of operations in-game after pestering the moderator furiously lol.
We should definitely work on calling people by their current usernames as a courtesy to newcomers.
-The OOG fake mafia slip pre game? That was super angleshooty and it had a very substantial impact on D1 harming game integrity.
That was a joke and everyone knew it. Like I mentioned in the game, it was a callback to when I used to play and I infamously claimed godfather as the actual godfather and the game ended up having a lie detector.
With that said, I had no idea role PMs had gone out. I had not yet received mine and I assumed Mikal wouldn't send any out until he could send them all out. So that's why I tried to move on from the topic as quickly as possible. I didn't know group PMs were on discord and not on the forums so I assumed clarifying that I didn't know anyone had PMs at all when I made that joke would hard confirm me as town. Knowing what I know now, it would be easy to add me to the Mafia discord after the fact.
Thoth had a point that the slip actually came from Mag1cian but it was a lucky level of right that sent the Mafia into a tailspin.
Magic confirmed that he said that in scumchat because Alyssa told him about me. So it wasn't really luck, the reality was still directly tied to Alyssa.
A few points of note: If Mikal was going to confirm the nature of Wyrly's role, it should have been disclosed up front. The way things were revealed all but confirmed that she was town. It seems Mikal also mod confirmed Helz when he left the guild. My conversations with him about Awesome's role also led me to believe he was describing a role that actually existed within the game.
What is an OoO outside of Adventure Time?
Forum signatures are bullshit. Nobody wants to waste their time and bandwidth reading something they have read 29,998,559,671,349 times before.
Lol. Yeah, that was a wild situation. I do not think in a hundred games I would have guessed the bad results function from guilds or how that got compounded with a mafia lawyer function.
