Most people who vote don't give full arguments. I'd rather they did (even though I haven't in this case lol), but I'm also glad we don't require arguments to vote as polling and argument gathering are looking for different types of information.
USA is dumbest country on Earth, so legalizing weed isnt gonna make it dumber. But it will reduce prison population, secure a more safe type of weed, get taxes on weed, and make a lot of people happy.
I've heard that most people in prison for doing weed were dealers who made a plea deal. Not sure I'd want them out of prison.

They were just selling weed. If it was legal, they would be out of business anyway.

Or they might sell harder drugs. After all, they're willing to sell illegal substances.

We don't put people in prison for what they might do. If someone was only selling weed, it's different. If he was selling weed and heroin, then he goes to prison for selling heroin. But if weed was legal, there would just be well regulated stores selling them. Private individual dealers would quite quickly lose a lot of their profit.

We kind of do put people in prison for what they might do. Likelihood to reoffend is a big factor in whether we release people.
Marijuana legalisation has seen so much damage to the US and yeah I could go and cite but why bother for an outcome that benefits nobody?
This is a very slippery slope firstly, because why not do cocaine? In all honesty I've seen far more high functining, productive cokeheads than potheads and I fully denounce both as vile drugs to not get into for any reason other than somehow medically requiring them (for real, no other good alternative or affordable alternative).
The US of A culturally and constitutionally is rooted in a freedom concept the limits itself to harm to others. There is virtually no example you can give me where a pothead or dopehead, whatever they're called nowadays is a net-benefit to those around him/her in his/her life for taking it except where it is truly a one of a kind cure in which case specific non-smoked THC should be taken in controlled doses as the doctor prescribes.
It rots your IQ, sanity and genuinely seems to have permanent damaging effects to the brain like that. You can literally hear it in rappers that smoke weed, they get far worse over their career until they cut down on it and even when don't equal what they once were.
That pattern is inverted for rappers that generally avoid weed, they tend to increase complexity and rapping ability, flow, rhythm all of it.
Marijuana is an evil drug.
Weed smells awful and people who smoke it turn in to dumb losers if they weren't already. They should be publicly whipped for smoking it. Encourage tobacco and alcohol instead. Weed is literally the worst drug just because it's so lame and the people who smoke it are annoying. At least methheads are fun.
