Society should do way more to stop bullying in schools

Started by SatanLucy ·

Society isn't doing enough to stop bullying. A lot of bullied students just get ignored when they report bullying or nothing is done. It often results in suicides, or violence in schools, makes school hell for a lot of children.

Since children are already forced to go to school, society should at least have decency to provide some education there instead of insults, mocking, punches, harassment, theft, isolation, being forced to drink toilet water, getting sexually harassed, and being on your knees begging your bully to forgive you for bullying you.

the West is the best at this in 1 way but in another is terrible.

West mentality: Dont fight back to the bully ever, neither verbally nor physically if you want to report (mods of DARF, DDO and DCraft follow this idiotic mentality)

Rest of world mentality: Hold your own, report if too weak and with clear evidence.

Both hurt the snitching in differing ways. Both enable bullies in opposite ways.

Let me tell you something, if you arent naturally strong esp if late to puberty, your only hope is mental and spiritual tenacity... Humans are vile cunts. You cant get justice. If teachers had justice in them theyd get arested with the amount of bullies theyd need to handle.

I reckon in every school at least a third of students are active bullies. Of the remaining 2 thirds many are bystanders because they dont want to be picked on next.

Easily over half the school's students enable or participate in bullying the remaining minority. Some enablers are themselves bullied but get rewarded for never snitching and enabling it by selective friendliness and praise (invite to the parties just to be punched and ridiculed as they bring the others drinks, food etc).

Never hesitate to be the loner. Never hesitate to adopt as 'fuck em all' default and work back from there. Ill raise my children to never be popular (intentionally). Theres a reason famous people are nearly all scum and bullies or enablers.

Fully agree. No one at school really cares to stop bullies. It will virtually never happen that some bystander stops a bully. And teachers will rarely do it, and when they do, the punishment for bully is so light that next time he can just bully someone else who won't report him.

And worst cases are when groups bully individuals, because then schools are even more reluctant to do something about it.

There is this idea that kids can't be evil, it's just teasing...ect. But reality is, some of this bullying is so bad that if an adult did it to adult, he would face decades in prison. We are talking of cases where bullies literally destroy their victims mentally, over long years of abuse, and some of worst type of abuse too. It sometimes gets so bad that victims kill or severely harm their bullies and then victims face legal consequences.

You are wrong. You didn't know me. However, I had to be tactical. If I snitched too much on bullying I couldn't prove... dangerous. Especially if I got outed as the snitch. I learned to only snitch on bullying of myself. The other victims would turn on you with the bullies, if you snitched.

It's a horrible system either way. Tho what I experienced was different, because teachers couldn't care less even if you report, which I did a few times until I realized it was pointless and even harmful because it further lowers your position and you become even more isolated because while bully has his bully friends, someone who is a constant snitch has no friends, and that's even more difficult to endure because it sticks. And then of course there is revenge reporting, where every mistake you make gets reported as a revenge to make you look bad with teachers and then anything you report in future loses a lot of credibility, and it's insanely difficult to prove that you are even being bullied when no one wants to take your side to confirm it.

Yes this is the biggest problem. The ones theys ag are neutral/inmocent are often not. Many of the bystanders join the bullies against the snitches. One example is how all unite against the honest student that reminds the teacher about homework.

On this website, you are one of the bystanders that enables the bullies. I am closer to the snitch.

This is why I find a lot of irony about you. You are scum but you realise the problems anyway.

Yes, that's because I was hit on the head enough times to know that sometimes being a hero isn't a good idea. The people you save won't thank you, and others will then turn to punch you instead.

Low report rates and poor response once it's reported

Inadequate response: Surveys like those from Education Scotland and anti-bullying advocacy groups indicate that around 44% of students who do report bullying feel their school does not deal with it effectively.

About 44% to 46% of students report school bullying incidents to an adult, meaning more than half of cases go unreported.

Schools are simply incompetent and this incompetence is reason why schools are heaven for bullies and hell for their victims. Victims rarely get any support, and bullies are often not even punished in any way for what they did. So even when they get reported, they might just stop bullying one and move to bullying another.

The Liberty to Communicate

Verbal bullying is freedom of speech and mean words are not identical to mean actions.

While I can agree regarding verbal bullying, as someone who was bullied a lot, I can say for sure it rarely is just verbal.

Physical bullying should get an assault charge; but verbal is just free speech.

Create taxpayer-funded bully squads

Bullying is a dying art and fulfills a critical function in developmental psychology, punishing bad behaviors like being cringe and/or retarded. Being a low-tier bully also provides a social niche for some of our most vulnerable populations, like white trash, wiggers, and the children of alcoholics and criminals, where they can provide a useful function for society. These bullies are themselves policed by apex predators like jocks, who keep them in line and calibrate their bullying to an effective level that falls short of damaging. Introducing social costs to bullying just destroys this apex predator tier, who have a lot to lose, while the low-tier bullies still exist and just have their already shitty lives further ruined. In a healthy bullying ecosystem, the cringe and retarded are bullied just enough to make them normal. In the current system, they are either bullied to death or remain cringe and retarded and grow up to be furries and/or libertarians. A ghastly state of affairs.

easy to say as a straight white male in a society that benefitted you, who also was neurotypical.

My heart goes out to people like you who grow up in third world countries that lack a healthy, well-developed bullying ecosystem. Contrary to popular belief, it is often the people at the margins who benefit the most from bullying. Without its gentle ministrations they may well become weaboos or theater kids instead of, say, a well-adjusted arc welder.

The only thing that being bullied taught me is to never leave my house again unless I really have to, to minimize chances of getting hit on head, punched in balls or in the nose, or have my hair pulled or being kicked in the butt.

Bullying doesn't make anyone normal. It just means you are scared to go to school because of all the torture and abuse waiting you there, so instead of focusing on studying, forming friendships, developing relationships, you are thinking about how to survive the next day without a bloody nose or half of your hair missing, a lot of brain damage. The only ones who think bullying is beneficial are the bullies, a lot of students killed themselves or committed crimes which put them in prison or developed depression and social anxiety as a result of bullying. Contrary to popular belief, striking a TV wont fix the image, and striking someone in the head or balls won't make them any smarter, just more scared to be themselves, causing them to be fake people pleasers.
