I know.

And I also know that "The Bible" is a European adaptation and compilation of earlier retold Jewish folk tales and locational data, that also incorporates a lot of fantasy embellishment...A mythology in other words.

The Hebrew book sometimes Referred to as the Torah or Pentateuch is therefore similarly mythological...Often attributed to Moses...Though most Jewish scholars agree that it was probably compiled at least 500 years after Moses...So rather like "The Bible", made up and compiled somewhat later from hand me down tales.

And for sure, Muhammad et al, compiled their own Book a bit later on.

The Bible even supports an expanding universe that is similar to the Big Bang.
See verses.Isaiah 40:22, Isaiah 40:5, Jeremiah 10:12, Job 9:8, Psalms 104:2. It uses the word stretches instead of expansion. Thats corroboration.

No Debs, notwithstanding that these are all second millennium AD interpretations, none of these verses ever mentions an expanding universe.

Plus all verses are clearly adaptations of the same... So one tale, reinterpreted and retold many times over.

Stretching out the heavens like a curtain, is clearly a reference to the visible sky and how it appears to enshroud the Earth from horizon to horizon.

Nothing whatsoever to do with "BIG BANG" and universal expansion.

Well, replies are progressive and ignorance is inertia.

And comments are replies.

And "rage bait" of variable intensity is necessary to cause and effect...Sort of a LITTLE BANG or a MEDIUM SIZED BANG or a BIG BANG or even a WHOPPING HUGE GREAT MONTEROUS BANG.

Though currently Shoresy does not provided us with sound and pictures.

And whatever Sarah is doing to the dog, seems to be working.

And Judaism is based upon the naive magic man stories that preceded it, all the way back too whenever intellectually developing primate first considered it's earthly condition.

SergeantLynch

For sure, such a naive analogy was probably inevitable.

Though not strange that a desperate Canadian Catholic who is currently obsessed with corroboration, should suggest that A proves B...Or B proves A...Or whatever.

Nonetheless, the real beginning remains unknown and we are also pretty certain that 6 days is a wee bit of an underestimation.

Yes a "story" told to kids who will believe what they are told and never forget it...Such is formative conditioning...Or brainwashing.

So tell kids that apples are burgers and the will order a cheeseapple and fries.

Ah, but stories maybe fictional or factual or both...And archaic stories based upon unverifiable data tend to be archaically naive, exaggerated and fancifully mythical.

And for sure Genesis were once a favourite band of mine.

SergeantLynch

For sure, but in certain Christian sects formative conditioning is oppressive to the point of brainwashing, therefore baptism is just as irrelevant anyway.

Whereas I was a baby...The son of people who were atheists too, albeit also children baptised without their permission for the sake of social conformity.

When you have no sensible argument to offer, then say something silly.

Yes, one assumes that achieving internal positivity is likely to be beneficial to health.

Certainly music may be beneficial.

Well, the Big Bang theory is a general theory based upon observations of universal expansion, so therefore is a meritorious proposal.

So it is generally agreed that universal expansion is a truth, whereas the actual cause of universal expansion and material existence therein, remains unknown.

None of which, corroborates or verifies any factual basis in respect of archaic Judaic folk myths and latterly "The Bible".

SergeantLynch

Nope...Maybe you were trying to be factually observant, but what you presented didn't make much sense.

The Big Bang has not change the way we view life because it happened so long ago. And out belief system was already fixed when we discovered it.

The "Big Bang" is a creation theory and is unlikely to change a persons perception of their daily routine and how their daily routine dictates their lifetime...Because theoretically "it happened" long ago and the effects thereof would have long since established universal evolution and all events therein.

Further...Relatively speaking, "out/our belief" systems were made up and not necessarily fixed a short while ago...And for sure the term "Big Bang" was perhaps coined as recently as 1949, though the scientific basis is generally attributed to Hubble's Law and the work of Georges Lamaitre, 1927...As such "we" didn't "discover it", but rather, we proposed it.

SergeantLynch

Nope, factually speaking "The Bible" is a second millennium Mid-European compilation based upon earlier compilations.

And for sure the Islamic derivative based upon Judaic historical tales (primarily the mountain man tale) was thought up in the early part of the first millennium...Such was the necessity to challenge the growth of burgeoning Judeo-Christian theo-political empiric aspirations...All based upon older regional tribal divisions.

Nonetheless Islam too as factionalised and the Quran has has been modified.

SergeantLynch

For sure, "The Bible" is the bible is a book of mythical Judaic history and people who join Christian societies will perhaps read it.

Though not all members will have read it and not all members will be such avid readers.

And certainly not all names on the list will actually identify as Christian...People such as myself will have been co-opted onto the list without permission or approval.

It's ridiculous really that one can be deemed sexually immature at the age of fifteen and yet can decide to be a Christian at 3 months...How clever stupid is that Debs?

SergeantLynch

I never said that it was.

I was referring to the mindset of the American populace.

Which to be fair is the general intellectual mindset of the human species.

As I've said before I'm a big fan of the Yin and Yang concept.

Clever and stupid...Two steps forwards and one step back perhaps...Material progress one step at a time.

Hmmm...The above simply validates my mantra.

"The Bible" was compiled in the first half of the second millennium AD...Based in some small way, on early scribblings, that were based in another small way on earlier hand me down folk tales and myths...Folk tales and myths that are not directly attributable to any of Jesus's contemporaries...Rather, latterly attributed.

I didn't need Bart to confirm this for me.
