As I stated previously, something is true only if it is true.

"Reliable sources" are no guarantee of truth...Just a repetition of information from a respected source.

So "BIG BANG" theory is the product of respected sources, but nonetheless only theory, so therefore not a truth....Same applies to naive theistic/deistic hypotheses.

SergeantLynch

Yes.

Americans are more likely to be killed by fellow Americans, than by illegal immigrants.

Though according to those Red Injuns most Americans are illegal anyway.

More explanation required Debs.

How does religion deal with human suffering.

And yes, opiates do help, especially when other analgesics fail to.

SergeantLynch

Hi Debs.

Well, all thoughts are original...Though all thoughts will be adaptations of acquired data...And the same applies to me as it applies to you.

Look at your contributions to these threads and what you will see is the repetition of the same old theistic mantra/s...Mantras that do not verify the naive Christian hypothesis that you have chosen to expound...So my mantra is to easily point out the shortcomings and flaws in the Christian story...Therefore, until you can substantiate any of your claims you must be prepared to expect my "echo".

And for sure, mine, yours and everyone's understanding of creation and existence is "poor"...In fact, we haven't got a clue.

SergeantLynch

Well, "smart" is a generalisation...Though yes, North Korea conforms to the hierarchical model in what might be described as a more extreme format.

Though I'm still not certain that "going nuclear" is a necessary prerequisite of "religious freedom"...This is yet another point that you will need to clarify Debs.

SergeantLynch

Nope "The Big Bang" is a loose scientific theory that is unable to confirm anything.

The trouble is, BIG BANG has become a hang up for the hung up.

And for sure, religion is an evolutionary phase of the intellectual primate period...Which is very a recent phase and not genuinely comparable with a universal creation event.

So are RC Inc now trying to hijack BIG BANG theory...I wouldn't put it past them...They will probably build a shrine and a tourist complex, where they will supply tacky plastic Chinese made BIG BANG trinkets and miracle cures to the gullible.

Yes...GOD FART for sure.

SergeantLynch

Hmmm...Well yes, that's very easy to do...One doesn't need to be a "theology scholar" to conclude that the Jesus character was based upon a real person.

And copying and reinterpreting old narratives is certainly one way of occupying ones time.

SergeantLynch

Well, something is true if it is true.

Whereas corroborated folk tales are corroborated folk tales.

Though the Basis of the gospel folk tales cannot be verified.

And therefore because is a poor "scientific standard".

SergeantLynch

Yes, I don't doubt that certain Americans are capable of such.

America is the undoubtedly the epitome of Yin and Yang.

That is to say, Clever Stupid.

SergeantLynch

That said, how sure are you that the Universe will perpetually be in motion.

That said, if everything is a sequence of expansion, collapse and re-initiation then perpetuality is a given.

Based upon a given that there wasn't a beginning.

Though if there was a beginning then presumably an end is also a possibility...Maybe this all depends upon us and future systems of intelligence, getting it right.

Or wrong.

SergeantLynch

Hmmmmm GG.

"The Bible" is a book and was a loose basis for the establishment of theo-political empires, and thanks to generational data transfer still remains so.

So the book is inanimate and therefore neither moral or immoral, whereas the conflict between ideological business models is based upon selfishness and self righteousness and thus necessarily immoral with regard to the ideological enemy.

I too as an individual thinking unit am as moral as it is necessary to be...Such are the demands of survival...Therefore in simplistic terms when compared with an inanimate book I am potentially a superior source of both morality and immorality... And I say potentially, because I'm not certain at all what "morality" is within a universal context...Though definitively within a human context I would suggest that moral and immoral all come under the same general heading of morality.

SergeantLynch

Well, who or when "the gospels" were "corroborated" and first jotted down is a moot point, even among Christian scholars.

The four blokes who were reputedly mates of Jesus, would certainly have witnessed something, though intervening years between witness and first compilation somewhat diminishes the accuracy of the uncorroborated hand me down tales and certainly allows for the introduction of mythical fantasy into such tales.

SergeantLynch

Well, we have Russian paranoia masquerading as Orthodox Christianity to do that job for us...Such is "the long term advantage of being anti-abortion"...Especially if one needs to restock with cannon fodder...Or should I say drone fodder.
